This place is one of the most excellent place for a casual grub in the city. They have great burgers in here and their bar is just fantastic, great clientele too.

The best thing about this place is that they have a wonderful bar tender that will listen to you and will offer up drinks for free. Got to love people like that.

Just tried Raz'z on Sunday 2/10/13 After searching 'Food network, Nashville" I wish pancake pantry was open, Because this was a waste of 50 bucks..The waiters seem to be a little Off..He would walk by our table, pretend not to see us then

Ate there years ago, and Chicken Victoria soup was my favorite. We quit going there, when we were refused service because I was wearing a shirt without sleeves (tank top), for lunch. Today was the first time I have been there in over 5

We went for Valentine's day. We were greeted at our table by the Chef and were made to feel very special. Our server was new and made a few mistakes but she was friendly and professional and the rest of the staff stepped in to help her out making our evening wonderful.

I had a dish that was not on the menu - St. Augustine Grouper. Being a Florida native I find it very difficult to find really good Grouper outside of Florida. Raz'z managed to prepare some of the best Grouper I've ever had!

We highly recommend it to anyone!

I am from Buffalo, NY, arguably the food capital of America. The typical "Buffalo-nian" rates these items in order of importance:

1.) Local Foods
2.) Snow Removal
3.) Oxygen/breathing
4.) Buffalo Bills/ Buffalo Sabres

We know good, hearty food and expect the best when we go out to eat.

Raz'z deliver's.

It could easily integrate into the superb Buffalo food culture competing with Buffalo (Chicken) wings, Italian and Polish foods, Buffalo pizza, Beef-on-Weck, Sahlen's hot dogs, Weber's mustard, Chiavetta's Chicken marinade, etc....

We recently ate at Raz'Z in Antioch, and the food was great. I loved the jazz band playing while we were eating. The hot sauce that they have was very good. The prices were affordable as well. The service could've been a little better as we were waiting for beer for a little longer than I would have liked, but overall, it's a great place to eat.

Wanted a peaceful lunch to go over some financial reports. I remembered in the past this place was so friendly and just needed a quiet place with good food! They are always so friendly, EVERYONE, I can tell that the owner has high expectations from staff. He always comes to the tables and you would think you were his best friend...very sincere nice guy. In a world full of horrible customer service I have to say this place gives you your faith back in customer service and the food is fantastic. I would suggest the Chicken Alfredo with ham and mushrooms! Very fresh salad and when the waitress brought my salad she asked if I wanted extra salad dressing, it was not a bother, lol. Every restaurant I go to it just seems like I am an interruption, NOT HERE FOLKS! They really do make you feel comfortable! Thumbs up to the owner and the staff, job well done:) I would recommend trying this place!

I dunno folks but over the last 5or so times I have gone there is something that has gotten worse. Smaller portions. The deal of the day is a joke- very small, puny even. No deal there cause it only comes with one side. Then just today I witnessed a couple that ate outside, They seemed very happy until he found a roach in his cole slaw. I can't blame them for being mad but they pretty much paid (paid something is all I know) and left without eating or drinking anything more. Fast. Quietly and fast. I lost my appitite about then too. They lady chef person really shrugged it off after the couple left. Which kinda shurprised me more.
i left about then too.
Something is going on and I don't think I'll risk that happening to my food. Used to be a GREAT place. I hope they fix whatever it is.

New in Nashville and tired of the big chains. We were really impressed with the food, prices, and service. Our three kids loved the food and atmosphere. We wish there were crayons and coloring pages for kids, but our waitress had her own stash of crayons and let our kids use them.

The chef came out to spend time with us which was a really nice touch and rarely happens these days. We can't wait to return and hope to catch some live Jazz.

One of the best restaurants we've been to in Nashville so far.

I happened on this restaurant accidentally and have fallen in love with it. The food is fantastic, the ambience is very relaxing and enjoyable. There is wonderful jazz music playing in the background and each and everytime I have been there the chef / owner as made it a point to come say hello and inquire as to how I liked the restaurant and the meal. Everyone that works there is very friendly and I immediately felt at ease and at home when I entered. This is definitely worth any drive, fortunately I live right aroun the corner.

My fiance and I just moved to Nashville. We live just about a mile from Raz's and figured we should check out the local food places that are closest to us. We didn't expect much but I can tell you that Raz's has gained a new regular. The staff was extremely courtious, and everything was prompt and delicious. We are really looking forward to checking out the live Jazz, and it's great that they have a patio to enjoy nice summer nights. Raz checked on us personally once we had finished and I have not had such a personal experience from a restaurant for such a great price. A+++

My sister and I are always looking for new places to experience. When we arrived at Razz's we found parking was extremely convenient (my sister is blind and I am disabled). We walked into the restaurant and were greated by the chef and owner himself who seated us. He was very personable. The music was soft Jazz which makes for appealing ambiance. I can tell that this place is probably a cut above the rest. From the beginning I wanted to love this place but unfortunately it was full of contradictions. the floors were horribly sticky yet tables clean with real linen napkins. The bread seemed to be those made from frozen dough and not handmade. The spinach/artichoke dip was delicious but the chips were almost burned. The salsa was the best I've ever had ...did it have okra in it? My sis got the special soup of the day ...she loves clam chowder and said it was the best she ever had. I got the chop with a minty sweet sauce. The sauce was great ...the chop was tough. My garlic mashed potatoes were old...they were stale tasting like they had just been reheated and made from old baked potatoes. The squash casserole was a yum fest in my mouth. Zucchini sticks were over cooked but the side sauce amazing and reminded me of a sauce I had in europe. My sister said her chicken salad was perfect. Now the most amazing thing I found was our waiter. We never had to ask for a refill he was quick and thorough. He was pleasant and made suggestions that proved to be spot on. I rarely leave a large tip but in this case I did. I will come back to this Restaurant, but I just pray that the food will be fresh and be as it seemed it should be.

My wife and I have been regulars at Raz'z for a few years now and used to be the biggest fans. The food was great, the service second to none. Razz himself used to visit every table to say hello. Lately. we have been going less and less frequently. We ate there for the last time this Sunday. The incredible service is gone, our server was MIA most of the meal. Our order was not deliverd correctly, or in a timely manner. When the blonde manager who pulls kitchen shifts is at the helm, there always seems to be problems. Even Raz was nowhere to be seen this time around. The floors seemed dirty and the whole place just seemed less taken care of. I miss the old Raz'z and hope to see it again someday. Until I hear of changes, we will go elsewhere. Sad

We just moved into the area, and thought we'd try some of the local non-chain restaraunts. This was a horrible place to start. The menu is really misleading, and makes you expect great things from the kitchen. Boy, was I wrong. For the prices in this place, the food was average, not the best, but still palatable. The sweet tea was bitter and not sweet...at least get that right, and at that I had to constantly ask for refills. The service in there was not up to par. The only time we saw our server was to take our order, and to give us our check, I had to flag down another waitress for refills, other servers brought items to the table, like simple sauces and mayonaise. And it was NOT a packed house! For what I was expecting, the staff and the food fell very short of the bar. Probably will never eat here again, and it is 5 minutes down the road.

When I pay good money for Shrimp Etouffee, I expect the etouffee. What was served to me was the same gumbo, I had just finished, with a few crawfish added, and served over rice. The gumbo, itself was salty and thick. Gumbo should be smooth, with a good, dark roux, good stock, and andouille, both providing a nice smokey flavor. This was nothing more than a thick, salty gravy with chunks of chicken, sausage, and shrimp. I doubt if I will return to Razz's for anything cajun-like on their menu.

Lunch-time service and refills were slow.

This review pertains to their new Smyrna location. Since I live in that area, I've eaten at this location about a dozen times and I looked forward to having my office staff out for a holiday meal. Unfortunately, the good service that I had always received during my visits was nowhere to be found during our holiday meal.

Specifically, I had requested their private dining room for our group and even called to confirm availability a few days before. We were seated a good 30 to 40 minutes after our reservation time and were placed in the main dining area. The private dining room was apparently not available. We were backed up to another group and packed in so tightly that food had to be passed across the table and down the sides.

The wait staff seemed overwhelmed and never even took our drink orders nor did they bring out any bread for the table. After waiting to see if anyone was going to take our drink orders, we ended up going to the bar and getting our own drinks (those of us that could get out of our seats).

Eventually, meal orders were taken and the salads and appetizers arrived. And then just a few minutes later, two people in our group of 18 had their entrees. It was like, "Here's your salad and your appetizer and here's your entree." The waitress was really surprised and wondered why their food was out so quickly. Of course, by the time everyone else was served , their food was cold.

I've always enjoyed my personal experiences at Raz'z, and I realize that the holidays can be a challenging time for restaurants. But the poor service and perceived indifference of management on this night are the reasons I would recommend you look elsewhere for your holiday party plans.

I love this place! I love the variety of selection on the menu and I love the creole flare along with the great jazz music in the background. From the moment I walked in, I felt as if I were part owner of the place. Great energy from the staff (at 9pm on a Monday, mind you). Everyone was glad I was there, salad was fresh and tasty.. my chicken fingers and my date's chicken sandwich were both wonderful. Fries had a nice seasoning. Dessert was the best.. the raspberry brownie is to die for. Great service, never felt like I was 'on the back burner', greeted by cook from the back as well as floor manager. Will go back, will recommend to friends, and am amazed that such a great place exists. Also, price! The restaurant compares to most chain sit-down style restaurants.. and is extremely resonable for a great night out. Cheers Raz!

I recently came to Nashville to take my Daughter who recently turned 18 years old out to celebrate her birthday and I told her I would take her anywhere she wanted to go. As always she choose Razz's,she loves their chicken tenders and onion rings. When we have something to celebrate Razz's is the only place to go. The food is always the very best, the wait staff is always very professional and the atmoshere, there is nothing like it around. And always when we request Razz always comes out to say hello and tell us how glad he is to see us. We Love Razz and his family, they are the best. Razz, you are welcome to come to New Hampshire or Maine to open a restaurant and my family has already agreed to help you get it started. We Love you Razz. Betty Peterson, Holly and Mrs. Pearl

The food was great... you can look to spend anywhere from $10 & up per person and it is well worth it. I had the teriyaki chicken which was great with what I would say is probably the best smashed potatoes I've had. My fiance is vegitarian so we were worried he may not find something he could eat but the vegitable menu had great variety and he was well satisfied. The atmosphere is very soothing and the service was great...except the part where the waitress had bacon put on my VEGITARIAN fiance's potato... but it was taken care of and made our experience no less wonderful. All in all, we will go back and would suggest Raz'z to anyone!

When my husband and I want a romantic evening out, we always choose Raz'z. The atmosphere is relaxing, the staff is attentive and ALWAYS polite, the food is excellent and reasonably priced, and the attention to detail is evident. It's obvious that Raz wants to provide the best experience possible, and he never disappoints. I always recommend Raz'z to friends for special occasions, or even for a quick bite. I've worked in several restaurants over the years, and if I were to get back in the biz, I think I'd apply here first. The staff seems to love their jobs, and it shows.

Besides the courteous and efficient staff, we always get a visit from Razz himself from the kitchen who seems to truly remember everybody!!

A nice, semi-casual destination restaurant that I would recommend to anyone who likes a cajun flair to their food.

Pros: accessible location, SERVICE, owner's involvement

Cons: none

My wife and I just celebrated our third anniversary at Razz's. I called Razz earlier in the day and Richard (our waiter) had everthing arranged: Rose petals on our table...soft lights and jazz music on the veranda - overall, a very cozy and intimate place. We would recommend Razz's for any occasion or group! Thank you Razz...you are...the man! PS My wife loves the black cloth napkins....they don't leave residue on your dark clothes.

Pros: Good Parking, Wonderful Food, Very Clean

Absolutely excellent...the music, personalities, setting- awesome. The fact that the owner will come out and shake your hand in a sincere and authentic manner shows true class. Razz'z (owners and employees) make you feel really special. I frequently have dinners with my wife, son and business partners there (my son thinks Razz is so cool). If you really want to make an impression don't think twice (it's gotten me out of the dog house several times).

The person that rated Raz'z a 1 must have no taste. Considering their user name I'm not suprised. Raz'z is one of the best restaurants on this side of town. Food choices are ample. Soup always freshly made. Atmosphere fantastic. Applebees could only hope for half as much. Raz'z also as a good but limited selection of beers and wine. Never had a bad meal there. Have had bad service once. That server hasn't been back working since that night.

Bottom line is Raz'z is a very nice restaurant. Service always good, or Raz will correct it. Food always great.

Patio is now enclosed but has big windows that are opened when possible.

I tried Raz'z this past weekend and loved it. I was greeted and seated by Raz, the owner/chef. He and the waiter were friendly and enthusiastic. One thing I noticed right away was the roominess of the booths - at many places you need a shoehorn to get in or out, here they got it right.
I'm not one of those people who cares about the "presentation" of the food , but when my meal came I looked at it and said "This was done by somebody who cares about what he's doing." That's what set's Raz'z apart - it is run by someone who cares.

This is my new favorite restaurant. I have never seen anything quite like it. There was a broad menu with reasonable prices. The staff was very courteous. And I can't get over this: the owner (Raz'z, also the chef) came out of the kitchen and was talking to some regulars, then some more customers came through the door and he proceeded to greet and seat them. That may not sound like much, but the genuine smile that he both gave and received from his customers told me that this place was something special. Try it once and you will be hooked. Oh yeah the food was great as well.

Pros: Great Atmosphere, Friendly Service, Wonderful Place

Cons: None At All

If you like the sultry tunes of Sade, then you will love Raz'z. The atmosphere is pure magic. There is always a mellow tune playing, and along with the dim lights, romance is inevitable.

Pros: good parking, good service, not too crowded

Raz'z is a great place to go for great food and service. The atmosphere is also great. The background music is jazz which I find helps with relaxation. They also have a live band that plays on the outside patio.

Raz'z has the very best burgers in town on home-made buns cooked just the way you like them. He also has the very best soups anywhere.

Go in and ask to meet Raz. He never forgets you after he meets you the first time.

Great place, fair prices.

Cons: sometimes too crowded, more parking needed

The food was average, but the service was terrible. The server practically insulted me with my food choice (and what I was wearing). I found the atmosphere very plain (almost like a bare TGI Friday's). I'd much rather go to Applebees where at least I wouldn't be made fun of!
