Pie In The Sky Pizza was founded in Franklin, Tennessee by Kelly and Caroline Black. After months of arduously researching ingredients and recipes from across the nation, they developed what they felt wasn't just a great local pizza but rather one of the best pizzas in the whole country. The neighbors who were lucky enough to sample their new creation enthusiastically agreed. On February 14, 2001, Pie In The Sky Pizza opened its doors and moved to a new location just three years later. Our new restaurant features a full-service bar, HDTVs, a 60-person private party room, slice bar for the kids and seating for over 200. Visit us at Pie In The Sky Pizza for great food and great fun.
My kids love this place. The food is good, the pizza topping abundant. and the atmosphere is fun. We've gone on Friday nights and got to listen to some great local talent. The kids love to watch them make the pizzas. We've had team parties in their party room and the kids always had a great time.

I like to think of myself as a connoisseur of pizza and I have to say that this is my 2nd favorite pizza place EVER (2nd only to Mellow Mushroom). The pizza is delicious and the atmosphere is fun (planets and astronauts theme). I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. If you like pizza you will love it!

Comparable to Mellow Mushroom, Pie in the Sky has outstanding pizza and similar dishes. I prefer Mellow Mushroom's calzone over the one here, only because I didn't understand why they put ricotta on it, I usually don't eat that in a calzone. Their carnivore pizza is a great pizza covered in multiple pieces of meat, this is definitely my favorite from the restaurant. I don't come often because it is a bit of a drive from Spring Hill, but the few times I have visited or taken home pizza were worth the price. (Which is a little expensive, but what else would one expect from this great chain?!)

Pie in the sky is a great place to go for pizza. They have the best hoagies. They cook them and they are crunchy! You can get all kinds of hoagies. Anything from pizza to roast beef.

We like to have dinner late, but we don't like to eat at chain restaurants. This is not that easy to accomplish in Franklin. We're always surprised at how early restaurants close. Pie in the Sky is a fun place to go and is open past 9PM! The staff has always been fun and friendly, the pizza is good...although the sauce could use a little more zing to it. The beer selection is good too. Neither of us care for the Yazoo or Sweetwater beers that seem to be everywhere and Pie in the Sky has plenty of alternatives. You gotta have cold beer with pizza!
Pros: Friendly, fun
Cons: sauce a little bit bland

I just discovered Pie In The Sky's new Midtown location, and i was BLOWN AWAY!! They've added an awesome patio onto the front of the old Longhorn steakhouse location on Lyle Ave off West End. They've expanded their two for one drafts to all day every day. They're staying open until 2 am most nights, and their food is better than ever!! My brother was happy that he could smoke on the enclosed patio, and the vibe inside the restaurant was as hip as any place off, or on, West End. We're planning on trying their late night scene soon. Apparently, Henry and the Seahawks are playing every Thursday PM. We had a great lunch of quickly-served custom slices with piles of chunky, fresh toppings, and a delicious jumbo wing sampler with numerous savory and spicy sauces. The service was attentive and professional without being stuffy, i.e. HIP: everything that I love about Midtown!! We'll be back very soon.
Pros: Free Parking, Great Draft Beer, the BEST Pizza around!!

We live in Memphis and my family and I went for a quick trip to Nashville on Thursday. Someone recommended us going to Pie because it was kid friendly. OMG! I was blown away with how good it was. The "Traditional" wings were the best I have ever had- perfect spice and texture. I wanted to try the many other varieties they offered but needed to save room for the pizza and that was the fantastic part!! I really couldn't get enough of their pizza. I had a thin crust veggie. A perfect amount of sauce and cheese and great crust, crispy and flavorful. So, goooood, what is their secret ingredient?!?! Also, I really like the fact that they use all fresh ingredients like REAL sliced mushrooms, not the canned ones!
Apparently they are a Franklin fixture (suburb of Nashville) but we went to the newest store on Lyle Street near Vanderbilt because it was by our destination. I really liked the atmosphere (cozy, warm and a cool scene). If I did not have kids, I would have loved to hang out and drink a pitcher of beer.
Lastly, I met the owners (a husband and wife team). They were checking on the service at each of the tables. It made me like this place even more because they seemed like really nice, hard working, honest people... a true American "Mom and Pop" operation. Anyway, I just wanted people to know what great food they have- it is rare to be so enthusiastic about a restaurant. We use to live in NYC and got use to really good pizza. Since we've been back South nothing seems to compare except... finally... I have found Pie in the Sky!! I only wish they would build one in Memphis!
Pros: Fantastic food!! Great service! Family friendly!
Cons: Really none!

I've grown up in Nashville and eaten at every pizza place I know of. This place is really raising the bar. My girlfriend loves the Alfredo Lasagna and I love the Thai Peanut Pizza. The food is so good I keep dragging my friends in to prove it. There hasn't been a disappointed one yet. The facility is amazing... It's full service... They put me and my girlfriend in a large 2 person booth that's romantic and fun... the cooks make the food in front of you... they have two for one beers everyday!.... They have great parking... The place is clean... The staff is well organized and friendly... I can't go on enough how much better this place is than all of the other pizza shops in Middle Tennessee.
Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Great Facility,
Cons: None

This was the worst service, food, and experience we have ever had at this restaurant. We make it a point to always stop for at least one each meal while we visit Nashville, which is usually 5 to 6 times per year. This was absolutely terrible. There were screaming children and parents who smiled and thought the answer was to laugh or walk the uncontrollable child around the restaurant. The pizza was burnt, and came out before the wings appetizer or spaghetti. Hey, what did they do with the sauce? Do the cooks think they are Emeril, with the Garlic laden spaghetti sauce. The BURNT pizza was replaced by another slightly less BURNT one. The manager (?) said he would discount the pizza, but when the check came it was exactly the full price, nice discount! The waitress seemed not to know what was going on or how to handle the situation; I suppose the entire staff was too busy not noticing the screaming children with their bad parents. Guess what? DO NOT bother with this restaurant; Cool Springs Food Court is a better bet. Go to the Waffle House!
Cons: Burnt Food, broken promises, bad atmosphere

I went there for the first time this weekend and have to say that there is no place around that has such wonderful pizza. We loved that they have a small section dedicated to people wothout children dining with them, it made our experience much more enjoyable. Although it was obvious that they are very kid and family friendly! My husband and I are already anticipating eating the spiral bread again, and what wonderful service we recieved. The young man that waited on us was Andrew...ask for him, wonderful!
Pros: Great service and food
Cons: be prepared to wait, there pizza takes longer than most
Posted 05/20/08
OK, I have to say the Pizza is all that, but I can't get a week away from the spiral breadstick. I also love the Scampi Pizza... how different! It has lemons on it. whoa! Still I'm dreaming of more Spiral Bread....what the heck'd they put in it?
XXXOOO
Carol
Pros: Yes they are Professionals.
Cons: No I don't think they are convicts.

My Mother and I go to PieInTheSky in Cool Springs every week. It's the only pizza that doesn't give her indigestion. I spoke with a manager who said that the reason there food is so much better is that they have low acid fresh tomatoes. He also said no trans fats and only real olive oil and butter. I never knew that other oils in the products caused indigestion. It's really great to have a pizza place care so much about the food. Since they don't really advertise the food facts, I thought I'd help them get the word out. They also run the best service outfit I've ever seen in the pizza biz. I read a few of the negative comments on this site and I wonder who writes such complete slams? They don't review the food, they just slam it. Kinda sounds like jealous competition... not real food critics. I've eaten at many other pizza places in Nashville that are all about drinking and cheap food...I prefer great food anyday!
Pros: No Heartburn
Cons: I have to drive 12 miles to get there.
Posted 04/22/08
Not at all worth the money. Pizza is nothing special and the breadsticks were very greasy. Service was not good either. They just weren't organized. There are much better pizza places in Nashville like Mafiaoza's.

My wife and I had the best experience at Pie In The Sky in Cool Springs last Thursday. The server was really on top of our needs and cleaned our plates up, re-filled our drinks as well as made great suggestions. I know that?s what a server is supposed to do, but we?ve been to another pizza place in the area that struggles with service and now we have a new favorite place. The food was top notch as well. WE LOVE PIE IN THE SKY!
Pros: Service and Food
Cons: None so far

I love PieInTheSky. My favorite Pizza is the Alfredo!
They have the best people working there.
Thanks for being you.
Pros: Everything
Cons: none

My family and I had gone to Pie in the Sky Pizza last Friday night. The Pizza is good, however not worth over $20 for a two topping, and $9 for a well mixed drink? The place was also very dirty. The waiter was nice, but everyone seemed so stressed out. The kids did enjoy the dough to play with, but the play area is right in the highest traffic area(servers running back and forth) Call me crazy but I feel I shouldnt have to wait over an hour for a pizza. Overall, just a very uncomfortable atmosphere. On the way out the door I asked my waiter if its always like this? His reply, "only when the owner is here." How often that is, I dont know. I do know that I will not be back.
Pros: Good pizza
Cons: Dirty, expensive, wait too long
Posted 10/16/07
The service here is HORRIBLE!! It is just the worst. The pizza is ok, but with the abundance of choices here in Mid TN service makes the difference for me. I was just there Friday night and at 9:00 they started cleaning up, as we were leaving more unfortunate people where coming in, I knew they would get horrible service just for walking in the door 2 hours before closing. They always start cleaning up and shutting down a good hour before closing. The waiters and waitresses obviously HATE the children walking back and forth to the dough bar, but whose idea was it to put it between the kitchen and seating?!?!? I think it is the manger (big guy, never smiles) who is leading this horrible service. My family goes there often, and EVERY time we leave (well before closing time), he never says "thanks for coming" or any other courteous comment as we walk out the door. Many times we have sat waiting on a waiter to take our order while they argued over who would take our table (we are good tippers, just have a few children). If you want GREAT pizza and GREAT service do not go here, GO TO MELLOW MUSHROOM !!!
Pros: okay pizza
Cons: HORRIBLE SERVICE, high price, poor management
Posted 09/02/07
Pizzas are too dry (they lack moistness) and sometimes way too thick to be good. There is a good choice of toppings but "Pie in the Sky" is a little bit cheap with them: large pieces of pizza are not covered at all by any topping !!! Try same genre pizzas in place like Pizza Perfect or Papa John's and you won't eat again in "Pie in the Sky".
Pros: Nice Atmosphere, choice of toppings
Cons: Bad pizza, slow service, a little expensive

Last Friday I was having a large family get-together and the 35 of us went to eat in Cool Springs. We drove to several restaurants and were practically turned away with up to 2 hour quoted wait times. Finally a hostess at another restaurant suggested Pie In The Sky Pizza. We just moved here and had never heard of this pizzeria. We were seated in 30 minutes and the kids discovered the ?dough bar?. It was a huge sucess. I can?t tell you how they saved the evening. The waiter was great and the food was exceptional. I?ve been raving about how good the place is to all of my friends. I went back on Sunday and the place was packed out, but they still sat us promptly and took good care of us, although there were only three of us then. I saw that they won the ?best family friendly dining? contest on this site and I have to agree, no other restaurant we found wanted to take on our large group on a Friday night. I think they need to get a big sign though, because we had never seen them hiding on the side of that furniture company.
I?d love to give a review of all of the food, but I?ve only had the Pizza. It?s outstanding. I guess I?ll have to eat there a bunch more and write an in-depth review. Anyway, I hope if you?re planning a group outing you?ll try these guys, they?re superb.
Pros: Large Groups Yes, Great Food!
Cons: Need a Big Sign!!!

I've been to this restaurant twice- the first time for an end-of-the-season soccer party and the second for a bite after church on Sunday. The party was a good time- we were seated in a banquet room and they did a good job getting our food to us. However, when my family and I went the next time after church on a Sunday, it was absolutely horrible. The waiter was clueless- it took us a very long time to get our drinks and our salads and appetizer. I had to request the pizza dough to keep my children occupied. After waiting for pizza for over 45 minutes, we told the waiter to put the pizza in a box b/c we were going home. He looked surprised and didn't even offer an apology. I must say that we really enjoyed the pizza when we got home though- it was very good.
Pros: Great pizza, good for large groups
Cons: Awful service, bring a good book to read while you wait for your food!

I Love PieInTheSky!!!. Welcome to Lenox Village. I read that Shot someone took below and I guess when you're great as this place is, the Mud will sling. I'm guessing a jealous competitor or disgruntled employee wrote the bad comment, because they didn't give a review or any real information. I didn't see that the reviewer had written any other reviews crusading to save diners from the pitfalls of dining around. I eat probably one a week at PieintheSky and the place is new and very well run. They are nice people running the place, unlike some of the other places near by. Great food, I personally get the calzones...awesome.
And by the way my wife noticed there was a health score of 100 on the wall.
Keep it up guys, ignore the cheap shots, we?re glad to have you in the neighborhood.
Pros: clean, great food, well run, friendly staff
Cons: none

I went to the PieInTheSky on Nolensville Rd. I've never seen such at wild little pizza shop. It has a surprisingly upscale interior with crazy StarTrek lights on the wall, but it still had a laid-back feel. I ate on the patio which is a good time in itself. The food is Brilliant ! & I'm not exaggerating? It?s stupid good. The server was a cute girl who was jumping to get what we needed and the beer was way cheep. The food was not cheep, but great food seldom is. They might work on speeding up the time it takes to get the food, but then again I wouldn?t change the food quality for speed. PieInTheSky has all the right moves...I'd hate to be a competitor.
Pros: Super Food, Cool Hang
Cons: Parking was tight

Love, Love, Love this new location in Lenox Village. The food, drinks and service are all outstanding! David, Bridget, Brandon, Nick and staff all make this a fun hang out for great food and drinks with friends! The have a great bar with 3 large screen TV's and Blue Moon and Yazoo on tap! You can also enjoy the outdoor weather on their patio with full food and drink service. Best Pizza in Nashville! Check it out!
Pros: Friendly Staff, Food, Patio

My husband and I visited the Pie in the Sky restaurant in Lenox Village on Wednesday, May 16, at 6:30 p.m. This restaurant had just opened recently and it was our first time to try their food. While we were eating, I accidentally spilled our pizza off of the elevated stand that it was placed on, and it fell on the floor. I felt terrible, especially since my husband had only eaten two slices and I had only eaten one slice. I notified our server and apologized for the mess. She cleaned it up and told us that she would check to see what they could do. When she returned, she told us that the manager said that if we wanted another pizza we would have to pay for it. I was appauled, especially since this was a new restaurant and for the fact that there are at least five other pizza restaurants in the local area. I thought this was terrible public relations, given that it was an accident, and because a new business should do more to cater to customers to gain repeat business. My husband and I spent $25 on three slices of pizza, and we will not return or recommend Pie in the Sky to any family or friends.
Cons: Customer service, long wait
Posted 05/16/07
Overall this was a nice experience. The cost was not too high and food was good. Nice night out together with a loved one, or kids.
Pros: Good food
Posted 05/07/07
This is a great lunch spot - slice, salad & drink deal. The pizza is excellent and I've never had to wait for a table. I don't live in this part of town, but it would probably be a great spot to go watch a football game. The service is usually pretty good. Overall, it's pretty consistent. The food prices are not dirt cheap, but par for the course in the area.
Pros: Consistent quality and service
Cons: Prices aren't a steal
Posted 08/09/06
The pizza is great! The service is great! The atmosphere is great! I'm so impressed and I'm not impressed easily. I think you should be entered in the "dessert" catagory too...your Chocolate Ecstacy is to die for!!!
I appreciate a restaurant that thinks of the kids too. While all mine are grown, it was fun watching the little ones with their dough, great concept!
The entertainment was good too. I give a lot of credit to an entertainer that can rise above the noise of the crowd and capture an audience's attention. Paul is good.
Thanks for a wonderful dining experience. I will definately be back and I've recommended Pie In The Sky to many of my friends.
Pros: service, food, parking
Cons: can't think of any
Posted 07/12/06
The pizza was wonderful! The servers were GREAT! And the live music was the icing on the cake! I would recommend Pie in the Sky to anyone who loves a good time!
Pros: Service, Food, Parking
Posted 06/25/06
They have the best food at PieInTheSky, but I love the staff as much as the pizza. I allways ask for "Paul", but they are all great servers. I've never had a bad experience. That being said be prepared for a bit of a wait(they are very popular), but it's well worth it.
Pros: Amazing Food, Cool Servers
Cons: Need more locations, later hours
Posted 06/23/06
Excellent marinara sauce and dough. Having said that, I've eaten here 8 times and have never been able to get out in under an hour, even when there's only a few customers in the entire place. I also went for lunch and waited 25 minutes to get my one slice of pizza.
My last waitress apologized for having us wait 15 minutes just to get our drink order because she "had to take a phone call." Also, I once was served my food on a dirty plate. I told my waitress and the second plate she brought was also dirty.
Oh, they have pizza dough for the kids to play with, but you may have to ask. In my 8 visits, my child has never been offered any dough.
I've yet to see a manager cruise the floor to check on customers.
Obviously, I keep going back to this establishment although service, etc. is lousy. The calzones are quite good. Hmm...maybe it would be faster if I learned to make my own.
Pros: good dough, sauce
Cons: slow food delivery, among other things
Posted 06/22/06
The pizza at Pie in the Sky is the best I've had in Nashville so far! I've only lived here for a few months, but I've tried several places & like their pizza the best!
Pros: Parking, Location, Ambiance
Cons: A little pricey
Posted 04/20/06
We recently used the "party room" for a combo family reunion / birthday and had a really wonderful experience! There were five kids in the party and they absolutely loved watching the cooks and 'making' their own little pizzas at the kids bar, what a great idea and it gave the adults a chance to visit.
Our waiter was terrific! He had a great personality and was right there for all our needs. We felt comfortable, not rushed almost like friends. Wanted to let you know what a great time we had and that we really, really love your place. Thank you for making us feel so special!
Pros: great for kids, great for adults
Cons: need more locations
Posted 03/07/06
I've been to Pie In The Sky 3 times now and each time was great. I'd never write a review without going somewhere more than once.
First the service was good and the people are very friendly. It's a full service restaurant, so it takes a little longer than a fast food place. Once you get the food, you'll see why you waited. It's that good!!! I asked the manager what they did to make the food so great. He told me they had a real chef and they spent every morning preping everything on the menu fresh. They are trying to "out fresh" everybody else I quess. The net effect is the best food quality in a pizza place I've ever encountered.
I've told all of my friends and now I'm tell the world. It's a great place
Pros: everything
Cons: none
Posted 03/07/06
My friends and I went here for lunch - we each ordered the "lightning lunch" of a side salad and a slice of pizza. The slices of pizza finally arrived 45-50 minutes later. Pizza was good, but negated by the fact that we waited so long (and it wasn't crowded at all!) Manager apologized, then reluctantly offered us 25% off our next lunch trip there (didn't promise the service would be better). We doubt we'll use the whopping 25% discount in the future.
Posted 02/16/06
With a wide variety of toppings, some very exotic compared to normal pizzas, Pie in the Sky is some of the freshest, moist, well made pizza around. The selection of spirits is also excellent and the white lasagne is to die for! Although a little pricey, it's well worth it. Be sure to get a Braided Bread appetizer, too.
Pros: Great Food, Excellent Service, Nice Atmosphere
Cons: A little expensive
Posted 02/02/06
WOW! That is the only word that popped into my head as I walked into Pie in the Sky Pizza. When you walk in, your whole day, no matter how horrible it might have been, just leaves. It's the whole atmosphere that just relaxes you. It's the tidiness of the store, the genuine joy from the servers and the staff, and the taste of the pizza that just melts you into this little world they have created. If you go on a Tuesday Night, they have this great guy who goes by the obvious stage name, "Black Hearted Renaissance." When I was there he entertained my kids and I as we ate our dinner. I highly recommend this place for anyone, and I especially recommend the Tuesday Night writer's night. It is more times then not, that you'll get a talented act that will entertain you as you eat.
Pros: inexpensive, great parking, great atmosphere

Recently, I had to take a few months off and leave the Nashville area. The very first thing I did when I returned to town (even before I unpacked) - was stopped by Pie In The Sky for Spiral Bread! How I had missed it.... no other pizza places comes to close to their taste. I love it!
Thanks from a big fan!
Pros: Amazing Food, Great Atmosphere, Great for kids
Posted 01/30/05
I've lived all up and down the East coast from Boston to NYC to Washington DC and I've tried pizza everywhere - and while Pie In The Sky isn't New York style or Chicago style (someone told me it was Nashville style??) It ranks with the top pizzas in any metro city anywhere. I'm telling you, good, good stuff. I'm a big fan of their sausage and pepperoni. But trust me, whatever style you're used to you, you're in for a treat at PieInTheSky.
Pros: fresh ingredients, tons of toppings, great beer selection

After moving to Tennessee from a suburb of Detoit and living here for over 20 years we have been in search of a pizza as close to the one that we loved in the Detroit area. This one also doesn't come close. The sauce was bland and the crust was like eating bread. I will give some credit to the cheese, it was very good. I guess going back home more often is the answer.
Pros: a pizza, nice atmosphere, friendly servicel
Cons: , bit of a wait
Posted 10/19/04
For several months now friends have been telling me - "you've gotta try Pie In The Sky". Well, I finally did and now I understand. The pizza is incredible! I had their four cheese pizza and a spiral bread and, wow, very, very good. It's like no other pizza I've had before. You've gotta try it!!
Pros: great food, great food
Posted 08/22/04
Went there for my lunch hour and waited the full hour plus some for food to come out - it never did and I ended up going back to work with an empty stomach and wasted time! Would not recommend my dog eat there!!!!!
Posted 08/20/04
The pizza is great. Better than mellow musroom (which is also good). But the calzones are great! We just moved to the area from Chicago and we love our pizza. This is great stuff. Not "Chicago Style" but the best in town. Oh, and try the pizza dough, cheese & garlic appetizer. It's outstanding!
Pros: Calzones, Pizza, Pizza dough appetizer
Posted 07/10/04
If you don't mind a little bit of a wait - Pie In The Sky is great for lunch... I've sampled just about everything on the menu from the pizzas to the pastas and it's all great. It might take it a little longer for your meal but it's well worth it. So, if you're in a hurry and don't care where you eat hit Taco Bell or something. But, if you care about what you eat, give the Pie a try.
Posted 07/01/04
We went with a party of six. The restaurant was about 20% full, and there were almost as many staff members as patrons. We ordered our drinks, which came out okay. We ordered one appetiser (the twisted bread sticks) and never got them. We ordered our meals, and got it 45 minutes after ordering. It was so late, we had to sign our checks while eating, and were all still chewing when we had to return to work. My calzone was a 2 pound mozerrella ball covered with bread (3 leaves of spinach. . yup, I counted). I'm not a complainer, but the waitress never peeped an apology. I will not go back (for lunch anyway)
Pros: Parking, Atmosphere, Cleanliness
Cons: , Food with requests, Order accuracy

The #1 pizza place in Nashville? Pie In The Sky, hands down. Those places downtown (that shall remain nameless - mainly because their food is so bland) or some big corporate delivery chain???! Ha! Forget it - nothing comes close to the Pie. Great food, great restaurant, great atmosphere, great, great, great!
Pros: Great menu
Posted 06/22/04
My family and I went to Pie In The Sky and the place is wonderful. Although they have a very large menu, some of my family members have food allergies and many special requests. We customized our food and they pulled it off without a hitch. In fact, the chef was proud enough of our one off dishes to bring them personally to the table. The food was exceptional and the service was truly special. We just wanted to say thanks by writing a great review.
Pros: everything, Great Chef

This place rocks. Stepping in looks like you're about to board a rocket ride at Disney World - then you get seated and want to look for a safety belt...something about the Sci-Fi Window Portals at the booths? Be brave - Go for the truly different Gourmet Pizza options that are available. You will NOT be dissappointed. I've eaten there several times. I simply can't get enough!! The quality of the food is ALWAYS excellent. I consider this a MUST STOP anytime I'm in town.
Pros: GREAT PIZZA, Cool Structure/Theme, HDTV Screens
Cons: , No smoking at Bar
Posted 06/20/04
This is the best pizza we've ever eaten. Someone told us about "Pie in the Sky" and said we had to try it. We have been eating there at least once a week ever since. We started out eating their "Happy Family" pizza and just recently tried their "Greek" pizza. Now that is our favorite. If you haven't eaten there, you have to try it.

Yes, I thank Heaven that I've found this place! Having lived all my life in Scandinavia, I was beginning to think that if wanted pizza over here there was no way around the typical "dirty, greasy, smelling, rude staff - look, he's making pizza and blowing his nose at the same time" kind of place. But then I found this place! These guys actually care about making a quality product - pizza, wings...everything is out of this world AND the place itself is really, really nice, excellent service and atmosphere. The HDTV's are a nice touch. I just love this place - highly, highly recommended!
Pros: Everything!

"We just tried Mineo's over the weekend. We ordered the pototoe chips ..."
