It's a shame to say that this salon is just a shadow of what it once was. I used to go to Cranberries a long time ago and didn't mind the price. But now, like everything else seems to be in this economy, it is run down. There are only 2 stylists working there, and they are NOT the high calibre, professional, stylish-type one would expect at a high-end salon. It's a shame too, because this was once a great salon.
My husband gave me a gift certificate to Cranberry's salon for Christmas.I noticed a very short period of time to use it.I called to make an appointment before the experation date,I was told not to worry and that it would be honored anytime. They did not offer me an appointment at that time.So being concerned about it, I called for the second time to make an appointment I was offered Feb. 10th .Showed up for it to find the doors closed, out of business.Noone called me or offered a refund on the money.I feel so ripped off. They knew when they made the appointment for me that they were going out of business as of Jan 31.and would not be there Feb 10th.So convient to get to keep the money.I plan to see if there is a way to retreve my money thru small claims court.Jackie J
I drive 2 hours round trip to get my hair cut by Robyn, she gives me the best hair cuts I have ever had. I have been to lots of salon's including Salon Visage. She also has done my daughter,s hair whom referred me to her, and her friends hair NONE of us has ever had any complaints. I would recommend you go let her cut or color your hair and you will not be disappointed. She devotes her attention to you and talks to you about what you want and what would look good on you. She is awesome, Everyone that works there Holly, BJ has always been really friendly and helpful with products, calling to remind me of appointments. You should try them you will like them.
I've been looking for my ideal stylist for 2 years. I should have started at Cranberry's because these ladies are world class professionals.
I've patroned hair and nail services and never been disappointed. They genuinely take time to ensure you leave pleased. For example, my nail tech asked me if she could take time to redo paint that dried with bubbles, and my stylist took 20 minutes to curl my hair beautifully after a standard cut. This salon is always busy so it's impressive that they appreciate clients as individuals.
I would take the negative comments with a grain of salt, as they were probably written by rival salons.
The pricing is competitive with lux salons, so if you expect to pay what you would at the mall you've been living in a box.
Highly recommended. Don't be discouraged if it takes several days advance for an appointment. It's worth the wait.
I have been going to Cranberry's for a few years now and I will never go anywhere else. These ladies truly make you feel at home and relaxed. Every time I go it's an amazing experience not to mention fun! I go, I laugh, I get pampered, relax, laugh some more, and always leave completely 110% satisfied every time. It's obvious that the owners live for this industry, it is their passion and they are always expanding their knowledge and techniques with classes and seminars. You do get what you pay for, so if you are a cheap-o then continue going to the wal-mart "salon" and using suave shampoo. I will continue using Cranberry's and rockin' my amazing hair.
This place is a bit pricey but as they say- you pay for what you get. The girls are educated hair stylists that stay updated on the new hair styles- they often attend classes. The atmosphere is very cozy- the new owners have done a great job. The staff works very well together- i always leave feeling great. I would rather spend a little extra to have it done right.
Going to Cranberry's Salon was a HUGE mistake! This was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at a salon. As a matter of fact, I dont believe I have even had this poor of a customer service experience with any industry! I go to a Salon/ Day Spa to relax, pamper myself and have a good time. I am willing to pay high prices for good service. I am a very easy going person, and do not like to complain. All that being said, at the very LEAST I do expect to be treated with respect. I do expect the employees to be friendly, attentive and at least appear happy to be there! The salon owner was even surprisingly hateful and negative, and acted like she could care less about me as a customer. The services were average at best, the salon was fairly unclean, and the prices were way too high. Still, I might have returned if I had not been treated so poorly. There are plenty of good quality day spas that will gladly take their business! I will be happy to spend my money and my valuable time elsewhere from now on!
I used to be a huge fan of Cranberry's Salon in Maryville, TN for several years and recommended it to everyone. However, this salon was taken over by new owners this year and the service has gone downhill since that time. The last time I went there for service, I was treated extremely poorly by a staff person and surprisingly one of the new owners! I certainly did not mind paying a high price for the service when I was pleased with it, but I refuse to go there and be treated rudely. I was shocked and surprised that a local business owner does not care how word of mouth will travel. If you choose to go to this salon- buyer beware! I will take my business to Eden's salon in Maryville, or drive the extra distance to the best spa around- Spa Visage in Knoxville.
PROS: Absolutely nothing- does not even deserve one star!
CONS: Absolutely everything! Poor service, rude staff and owner.! High prices!
Other than the decor, this is NOT what I would expect from an Aveda salon. I used to love this place but no more. Since the new owners took over the quality of the experience has taken a turn for the terrible. I've seen the managers act very rude and unprofessional to staff and clients and it is not what I would call a relaxing, enjoyable experience. The last cut was so bad I had to go to another salon to have it corrected. Their front desk staff has a bad attitude. The high prices do not help their cause. It got tiring to try to keep going there so I took my business elsewhere. Good luck, maybe your experience will be better than mine has been lately.

I really liked the people at this salon, they were all very nice. The atmosphere is lovely, very cozy and warm. The problem for me , was the terrible haircut I got. I had never been there before, so I got the newbie cutting my hair & I hated it. Way too short. Then I got a bill for it that I could not believe.
PROS: nice atmosphere nice people
CONS: sub par hair cut, high price
