We used this facility for our wedding and reception. In the beginning, the owner, Karen appeared to be very friendly and concerned about making our wedding day as special as possible. She explained the services that they would provide which was also outlined in the contract. A few days before the ceremony, after the check was cashed, we began to see a different side of Karen, her entire demeanor changed. She became very rude and unprofessional on several occasions. It began with her complaining about the amount of time we would use for our day - although we paid additional money for unlimited time. Then she displayed unprofessional behavior before several of our guests the night before our ceremony as well as the day of our wedding (i.e. she was rude & spoke in a nasty tone toward our coordinator in front of guests; she licked her tongue out at our coordinator in front of guests; she was reluctant to provide the guests with cake plates although it was a part of the contract package). In addition, other services outlined in the contract were not provided. Moreover, the buffet was not refilled, so the remaining of our guests were brought out a stack of chicken on a saucer...we paid for 100 guests, but only had approx. 80 to show (# incl. adults & small children)... no reason for lack of food. Also, there was only 2 servers on the floor... the 3rd monitored the dish with the chicken. Above all, one of our guests had to leave his seat, during the ceremony, to ask Karen and her staff to lower their voice. My husband and I have lost several days of sleep over the negative comments brought to our attention from our guests. We went to speak to Karen and her husband the following Monday about our displeasure in the events that unfolded, but only received an insincere apology & an argument toward their lack of accountability. My husband and I feel extremely embarrassed & disappointed by the service that was provided to our guests by the Ravenwood crew. Considering the substantial amount of money we paid, we expected a higher level of class and elegance.

This is an absolutely beautiful venue for a wedding and the food is wonderful. Unfortunately, the staff is completely unorganized and the management is extremely rude and unprofessional. We held a wedding and reception for over 150 people at the Ravenwood Club. We also had our rehearsal dinner here.They changed event coordinators on us after we had met and booked our event. We had to call back several times to get anyone to help us with the details. We finally got everything settled and arranged and were assured that everything would go beautifully.The day of the wedding things started to go wrong. The kitchen staff broke one of our monogrammed glass champagne flutes because they put them in their commercial dishwasher! After the event they refused to reimburse us for them telling us there was no glass allowed even though the champagne glasses they provided for all of the guests to toast us with were all glass as well as the candle holders they provided for our table decorations.We were also told by the event coordinator that they would pack up all of our decorations and we could pick them up after we returned from our honeymoon. When we returned to pick them up we were told that they NEVER box up decorations and we should have had them picked up either the night of the event or the next day. They had thrown away a lot of what we had decorated with but, thankfully, after the second trip we finally unearthed the box with our glass centerpieces in one of their containers stored with their supplies. Some of their supplies were even in the box, things that were not even used at our wedding! It is so unfortunate that the management of this country club is so unprofessional! We were stunned at the way we were treated after the event was done and the check for thousands of dollars was cashed.We would surely NOT recommend the Ravenwood Club for any type of event, especially one that is as special as a wedding. Maybe they should stick to just golf even though the groom and groomsmen golfed there the day of the wedding and were treated rudely by the manager and the greens were in terrible condition!

During that time, Ravenwood Country Club was going through a change in ownership and was juggling all the different balls that come with that process. Today the club the club has updated wedding policies and procedures and strives to provide the highest level of service at an affordable price. I have played here several times and it is a great course. The back nine is pretty hilly but still alot of fun to play. They have a nice clubhouse and the course is in good shape.

Rippling ponds, spouting fountains and lush greens flank the seemingly exclusive private drive that leads to Ravenwood Country Club. Upon arrival, who guests find opening the front door and greeting them is neither a doorman nor office runner, but rather, any one of the Watkins-family members who now own and operate Ravenwood Country Club.



David Watkins and his wife Karen raised their three children in Old Hickory, and the family joined Ravenwood Country Club around 15 years before David purchased the country club in the fall of 2008. Investing a dream into Ravenwood, David hopes to revitalize the country club, ensuring that it provides a superior recreational experience that exceeds the expectations of members, guests, employees, and the communities it serves.



Behind the double front doors of the clubhouse is the family pushing Ravenwood??s marketing and membership forward by centering the club??s mission on a downhome philosophy of passionately providing affordable and wholesome recreational services that improve the quality of life of both members and guests.



Watkins-family members currently fostering the growth of Ravenwood include: David Watkins, owner and Chief Executive Officer; Karen Watkins, Recreation and Pool Coordinator; April Watkins, Operations Manager and In-House Counsel; Gudmundur (Goody) Einarsson, General Manager and Golf Instructor; Jennifer Watkins, Event Coordinator; and Adam Watkins, Head Lifeguard.
