Sevier Heights Baptist Church

This church has been a prominent religious fixture in Knoxville for many years. Having grown considerably in the past few years, there are approximately 4,000 - 5,000 members now. The main focus of their ministry is on the worship experience, their outreach program and missions. They have developed wonderful music, mission, family and youth programs. Several years ago a small group program was incorporated to administer to their members on an individual bases. There is something for everyone at this church and you can find many worship and mission opportunities that are not available in smaller congregations.

Sevier Heights Baptist church is the really big one on Alcoa highway. When in college, I attended their college ministry worship services. Now that I'm out of the college scene, I have been attending church there with my husband for about 6 months. The church is huge, but don't let the size scare you. The worship there is awesome. The choir is phenomenal and has an accompanying orchestra. The pastoral staff is great, too. If you do go, I encourage you to get involved with a Bible fellowship class. It is a great way to meet new people and get plugged in.
