It's convenient to my home in Brentwood, so been there for dinner about a half dozen times. If you can overcome the impression that you're in a NYC fast food place that couldn't care less that you're there, the food is good. \r

Have been a fan weekly and used to go to their old restauant prior to new one.Food outstanding as well as friendly service by the most the regular staffing. I have had couple of issues with a new girl that does not speak English so have had the wrong order. She is not friendly and not like the rest of the staff. Also, there is an older staff member who always wears a cap. Have concern when she serves me as seems her eye has been infected for the past 60 days. Also she has VERY STRONG DIRTY BODY SMELL. I really do not want these two staff members waiting on me as unpleasant. I kind of stopped coming sometimes due to these individuals. But I miss the food and if the other wait staff takes care of me, all is perfect. I hope that ownership can correct these two individuals and make the dinning a pleasure once again. All the other wait staff smile, are friendly and are a pleasure to have you serve them. Keep up the good food experience.!

Wow. I'm very impressed with Peters. I have gone about 10 times, each time ... WOW! Simply stated. The only bad thing is their hours. Very weird hours. I have found myself circling the parking lot, sad and confused on where to go since Peters was closed.

Bottom line. Great choice.

I've been quite a regular customer at Peter's SushiThai. We usually get food to go because we have small kids. Last Saturday I went in to get my order, there is a new waitress that I never see before. I said Hi to her try to let her know that I waiting on my to-go order. She is just completely ignore and walk away. I've never seen anybody in the service industry that treat their customer that way. Luckily not long after that another girl walk passed by and take care of me.
If I were a management I would not keep somebody who treat customer that way and have bad attitude in restuarant.

Well, this was the worst sushi lunch that I ever had. Talking about destroying my favorite food. Tuna tataki- cold and soggy, rice wet and to acidy, sauces bland, fat content high, crab nonexistent, spicy tuna aweful and so on. My wife and I could not believe it. We have heard all the best about the restaurant and decided to try it. I guess if Hardy's starts making sushi you are going to have a tough competition in Brentwood.

A friend and I had dinner here on 11/23. I have to say the food was awesome and the server was very attentive.
Even tho we didn't order an entree that came with soup and salad, my friend requested the soup and the waitress brought both of the soup and salad at no extra charge. We split the philly roll, the lovely roll, the spicy tuna roll, and the pad thai. Everything was very tasty, my only objection to the food was the size of the lovely roll, you pratically had to cut it in half to eat it!

The only other con about this place is that there is an extremely small waiting area, and they were packed on a cold Monday night, so I had to wait outside in the cold until our table was ready. They do offer to call your cell phone if you leave your number, so I guess you could wait in your car, but it was so busy I had to park clear across the parking lot at kroger and I wasn't about to walk back to my car just to turn around and come right back.
Overall it was a good experience and I will be back.
Look for their coupons and get $5 off when you spend $25 at dinner.

Sadly i think those who have given bad ratings is because they think sushi is fast food. Its an art and Peter's is the best place to go. I have been going there since I was a child and now my 2 year old eats anything peter makes for her.

I've been a customer (and huge fan) of Peter's since they first opened, but I will not go back anytime soon. Customer service has never been a strength, and it continues to go down hill. The employees aren't rude, they just act as if you are invisible. You will not be greeted upon entering. Placing a take out order in person is almost impossible (I finally phoned mine in even though I was physically in the restaurant). This restaurant has gotten fat and happy, and makes no pretense of valuing customers. When the shine is off, and a different restaurant is the Brentwood darling, I may consider returning, but not until then.

We came across this place rather out of the blue one day before the renovations and full instantly in love. Their sushi is so tasty and fresh that it's no wonder it is a fav. amongst all the celebs in this town. We always come across someone since we go once a week for lunch. Last week was Sheryl Crow and the week before was Brad Paisley. Great food for the price! You HAVE to check this place out if you like sushi.

Service has gone downhill, tables are sticky, windows are dirty, floor is dirty and friendliness has disappeared! Peter, what has happened to you? I used to love coming there.....now, I don't have time to wait an hour before someone even says hello! Sushi tastes old sometimes, too. I am disappointed!

We go to Peters atleast once a week. Bathroom smelled fine to me, I mean, you know, it smelled like a bathroom. Our food was fabulous as always and for as busy as they were, our service was great. Peters is honestly our favorite place to eat sushi. If you haven't tried it yet, I think you should!

In past enjoyed the good food and folks at Peters. Over the holidays, I took my two adult daughters to Peters for dinner. We were served by an older Thailand woman who was very rude. She did not bring our order until it was cold, and we had to ask her several times to get refills on our drinks. She made a face at us when we told her that the food was all cold, and her comments back to us were on the mean side. My daughters went to the restroom and report that it smells bad and needed a deep cleaning. Made us wonder if something has changed at Peters. In the past we always had good friendly service, but this time it was really rude. Couple that to the bathroom situation, we will be looking for another place.
Cold food, dirty bathroom and nasty service? Why would we return?

My family has been dining with Peter ever since he worked at Miyako in Brentwood. We were so glad when they finally decided to expand the restaurant and open up seating as well as expand the sushi bar.
I usually get a few rolls, the salmon roll being my favorite, and alternate with Pad Thai. Peter's has by far the best sushi and pad thai in Nashville, I really can't say more than that.
Service is reasonably fast, and now that they added the waiting area, the restaurant is not as crowded. More often than not though, people have spilled out onto the sidewalk outside - there is usually a large crowd waiting to get in.

I've been in Nashville 8 years, and I've eaten sushi just about everywhere, but I had never tried Peter's. I really liked it. The pieces of nigiri were huge--well worth the $. My Mom had the Pad Thai which was delicious as well. I only ordered sushi, and it came w/soup salad, and we each were given 1/2 egg roll for no extra cost. The sushi did take a while, but it was worth it. Plus, I had the soup, salad, etc to snack on while I waited. I ordered 1 roll, and there were more pieces than I could dream of eating. This restaurant was just remodeled, and the de'cor is so cute. It's a very well-rounded sushi/thai restaurant that's great for lunch, a date, or family outing. There are some whole-in-the-wall places to get good sushi for a little less $, but at that point you're sacrifcing atmosphere. I totally recommend Peter's!

Peter's Sushi in Brentwood has changed! Not to worry, those who have frequented Peter's Sushi
and Thai for the past 3-4 years, the exceptional quality of food and service is still every bit as good
as it has been from the start!! Brentwood Place Shopping Center has undergone a facelift and some
of the longtime merchants have had found some extra room in the restaurant thanks to a welcome remodel.
Peter's now offers an expanded dining room beautifully painted in a lovely melon green on
one wall and a pomegrantie red-orange on the other wall. Pictures of flora & fauna indigenous
to Tennessee and perhaps Japan adorn the walls throughout. On a special night out for me and
my wife we had a desire for some good sushi and were not disappointed! We started our dining
with deep fried wontons filled with crab and a cream-cheese filling. Our entrees were served with
hot miso soup & salad. Several Japanese/Sushi restaurants we have visited in recent times
have NOT served soup and salads with entrees, I find this addition to be a wonderful part of the
meal, but also a show of appreciation from our hosts. My wife chose two standard rice rolls of cruchy
crab and California roll, and instead of soy sauce she again requested for dipping the Special Volcano
Sauce or Spicy Mayonaise sauce.
As it had been a while since I had sushi, I had a taste for Sashimi. The chef chose some fresh,
suculent selections of Tuna, Fatty Tuna, Yellowtail, and Mackarel garnished with cucumber,
daikon (actually shredded Japanese radish) & shredded carrot. I found every bite to be delicious
with just a light dip in soy sauce and perhaps a bit of wasabi. Our server was very kind to keep my
hot tea cup filled while I ate.
There are many other wonderful rastaurants in the area, but we chose Peter's because we knew
the atmosphere, the service and the food would meet and exceed our expectations

Went to Peters for dinner on Friday 12/05/20008. Ordered crunchy shrimp sushi, basil beef, pad-thai, and tum yum soup. The sushi came out about 30 minutes after we ordered. Ate a couple of pieces before we realized there was a long hair in one of the sushi pieces. Told the waiter and she just took the sushi way quietly so that other customers did not notice. Didn't offer any solutions. Told us she wouldn't charge us for the sushi. About 10 minutes later she brought out two bowls of tum yum soup (I thought she was making up for the hair in the sushi) ... right before I was about to eat she comes by and says that this was for another table as we only ordered one bowl. She grabs the two bowls of tum yum soup and gives it to the table next to us... How wierd.. I would not have eaten soup that someone almost put in their mouths. About another 15 minutes later, she brought out the entres which was cold. Not sure if I'd wanna go here again.

Take it from a world traveler and food critic. Peter's is not really worth your money. It wasn't bad food by any means, but it wasn't stellar cuisine either. I shelled out $50 for two people, yet we had a meal inferior to some of the cheap Thai restaurants along Nolensville Road.

The sushi was soggy, not firm (a 7 out of 10). The Thai cuisine was a mid-8. Pretty tasty, but definitely not mind-blowing flavors as some chefs are capable of concocting. The sauces were very flavorful, probably to cover up the poor quality of meat inside. The only thing that really impressed us were the egg rolls, $1.25 each garnering a rating of 9.5. But despite its trendiness, its lively atmosphere and its vivid presentation, there are many places better in Nashville. Good food, just not great.

We have been going to Peter's for a five years. We like the new location a lot and also the staff. We get great service, but lately have been having issues with food quality at lunch. We have had poor Red Curry, Green Curry, fried rice and also the Chicken Teriyaki was way over cooked and salty. Seems that there is no consistency at lunch with some foods and the taste varies so guess that maybe the different cooks are using different recipes/ingredients. Also, some times we get a regular portion, other times it seems like the portion is cut back and very small. May be wise for the owners to work with cooks to insure that every plate coming to our table is the same in quality and also quantity. We like Peter's and will continue to come as the folks out front are really friendly and give wonderful service. We just hope the cook gets back on track
for lunch and follows the old recipes that we have enjoyed over the past five years.

I went there tonight for the first time in the new location...I didn't really enjoy my first dining experience at Peter's, but with all the hype, I thought I'd try it again. The wait wasn't the problem - being served after several other tables that were seated after us was. That was only the beginning of a night of very bad service. All in all, the sushi was mediocre at best. I'm a Gulf Coast girl, where the sushi is out of this world. The place to go for comparable sushi in Nashville is Wild Wasabi in Cummins Station. Friendly owners and staff and the freshest fish in town. Every time I go somewhere else I only regret it.

My family has been loyal customers of Peter's for 15 years, and hands down it is the best sushi ever. Peter's take on the Dragon Roll is addictive and delectable and the sauce he uses for the Volcano Roll is amazing. Also, if you are a fan of edamame, Peter's got the best. I have been to almost every sushi restaurant in town, and Peter's is hands down the best out there.

What a great restaurant! Not the chain atmosphere, but one of family. Beautiful new location with more seating and staff. Our food was outstanding along with the great service. Nice to see Peter and his wife both working and making sure all the customers are well taken care of. Expect to take some time when you go, as you are getting a custom meal made by an artist. So, sit back, relax and enjoy. Best sushi bar in town plus the entrees are outstanding. What are you waiting for????

.

Peter's is normally very busy, everytime I have been there I have had to wait, but it's well worth it. Well priced and a great variety with fresh ingredients. Highly recommend

We tried Peter's last week for the first time and we were very impressed! We ordered takeout sushi and the presentation and quality were better than most sit-down places. The staff was so friendly to me and my baby girl. I had heard great things about Peters and will definitely be going back. The amount of sashimi was perfect and the taste was excellent. Despite a water main break that day that affected the entire block of stores, Peter's staff took care of us and presented a wonderful product.

I have been a fan of Peter and his fabulous sushi for over ten years. My family was thrilled when he opened his own restaurant and are even more pleased that they have expanded the seating. Peter has watched me graduate high school and college, and now he is molding my daughter into a sushi lover too (she loves octopus). My favorite roll is the Smoothie Roll, and their sashimi is top notch. I love Uni, but it is hard to find it fresh in Nashville. Peter's is always fresh. Peter likes to try new things and always has specials on his board. His new special contains salmon, white tuna, tomatoes, avocado, crunch, spicy sauce, and smelt roe. It is fantastic!!! There is a little bit of a wait, but that is because everyone is eating at Peter's! Come early or put your name on the waiting list and prepare to be amazed at their wonderful menu!

Pros: Awesome sushi and Thai, family friendly, family run

Cons: You will probably have to wait - but it is worth it!

We eat at Peter's Sushi-Thai at least 3 times a week. There has never been a time where we have been disappointed. The fish is ALWAYS fresh! The service is fabulous! Friendly-staff! Peter and his wife (the owners). Always go extra miles to make sure that our food is right and the service is incredible! We highly recommend Peter's Sushi-Thai to people who love sushi and thai food!

Peter Sushi is the best. Everytime I go I order tuna and salmon and it literally melts in your mouth. Peter uses the best quality fish out there, and even the salmon comes from Scotland. The onions put on certain fish is just like they do in Tokyo, Japan. After visiting Japan several times, the sushi is just like it is there. The service is always great, and I highly recommend it to anyone.

I have tried Peter's sushi a couple of times and thought it was alright and pretty good for Nashville's standard. But the other day when I was there I recognized a sushi chef from when I was in Knoxville. What a shock! He made the best sushi and was very very creative!! I wanted to ask him to make me something from his old menu, but they were super busy as usual and thought not to bother. He always made things I have never seen and not the ordinary california or crunchy shrimp everyone sushi bar has. Who knows maybe they have something in the works....I hope so cuz I miss my Tomo's!!! Yum!

I hear good thing about Peter's Sushi. However, It's not as good as I heard. Peter's Sushi? What are you thinking? Miyako is much better and cheaper too.

Pros: nice place and friendly services

Cons: bad yellowtail

We've been fans of Peter's for the past few years. With the move to the new location next door the food has suffered immensely - maybe the owners no longer do the cooking and just manage the restaurant. The tofu used to be the best I have ever had, now it tastes like it comes from a can. The Fried rice has no substance - where did the plentiful meat go. The only thing that kept it's taste is the basil shrimp - but it has a ton more oil than before. PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD PETERS!

Pros: New location is nice...

Cons: Food is no longer that good - you can find better sushi and thai food elsewhere in town

The sushi wasn't bad but it wasn't fantastic. The salmon has a weird look and texture to it and they put chives everywhere..... and all in the sushi..... I HATE chives! I've never been to a sushi place where they put chives everywhere like that. The service was VERY friendly. I felt very welcomed. I hear they are moving to a much larger location. That will be nice for them. They do very well here I think because they have amazing service and a great location. But to be honest, the Sushi was just OKAY. I feel like Randy Jackson saying that : )

Pros: Great service. Good miso soup. Good green tea.

Cons: I've had much better sushi for this price.

Unfortunately for Nashville, there are only 1 or 2 decent sushi venues. And this is definitely not one of them. I have traveled all over and have experienced some of the best sushi available and so maybe my expectations for sushi are a tad more sophisticated than the average customer, but Peter's sushi is NOT good. Their tuna is terrible. And the other rolls are lacking any sort of creativity or personality. One look at any of the fish, and you can see that it is not fresh-hence the greyish film. I will not be revisiting this restaurant and I cannot believe it is still in business. I guess that's due to the lack of options in Brentwood. Lucky for them....

Someone introduced us to Peters about 4 months ago and we have loved it ever since then. The staff is wonderful and the food is always fresh. I would recommend this place hands down. We love the Volcano, Spicy Tuna, and Crunchy Shrimp Rolls.

Pros: Food, Service

Cons: Sometime there is a wait

.

Peter's Sushi is above all consistent. The Sushi is great, always fresh and perfectly rolled. The atmoshere is energetic due to the crowded space and during peak lunch and dinner hours be prepared for a wait. If you are a local, take out orders are the way to go. The staff even though in a hurry in the busy and crowded space, they are always friendly. Highly Recommeded!

The sushi here is great! It is always prepared and tastes so fresh. I got the dragon roll and the crunchy shrimp roll and my husband got the tuna roll and nigiri. I have also had the egg rolls, crab wontons, and the teryaki chicken before. All of it was tasty. The service is always friendly and alert. It's a great local sushi bar with a lot more to offer than just sushi. They are moving next door to a bigger space and it looks like it will be finished soon. But we went on a Friday night and only had to wait about 15 mnutes.

this is one of my favorite sushi spots in the franklin/nashville area. the sushi rolls and nigiri sushi are always fresh and great. there is a good variety as well. the miso is rich and is a must-have. sometimes you have to wait awhile to be seated and to get your food but it is well worth the wait!

This place has become a weekly tradition for my family. We love the owners and all of the staff. They will go out of their way to make you happy. The sushi is the freshest and best in the Nashville area. If you don't like sushi, they have wonderful cooked Asian cuisine. The Thai dishes are the best. The chefs are so amazing that I just tell them to cook me whatever they want! You will not regret eating here, just be careful, it is like an addiction!

Pros: Best staff and food ever!

Cons: A little crowded, but what can you expect when the food is this good?

Peter's, or as we say Pete's, is by far the best sushi in the area. The only thing lacking is the atmosphere but that can easily be overlooked upon your first taste of unagi shrimp roll. Oh, and the ginger dressing, the best anywhere in the world!

It's casual, unpretentious and even though it is usually crowded you can have a conversation.

I often forgo Virago for Pete's. Who needs the posers and thumping music when all you really want is the best sashimi platter in town! Now if they would just serve martinis... in a perfect world.

Cons: Can't think of any except the ambience, but no one cares about that at Pete's

My husband and I LOVE Peters Sushi!
Great service, Great Sushi, and Good Prices! I always like to start with glass of wine and my husband gets a beer. We love the miso soup and ginger salad. Sushi favorites: crunchy shrimp, husband and wife roll, and rainbow roll. We have spotted many celebrities at Peters. The only con to eating here is it can be a little crowded at times and you may have to wait on a table. Small but relaxed place!

I was anxious to eat at Peter's Sushi-Thai because of all the good reviews I had read....and it's true their sushi is really good. They have a great selection of sushi rolls and great prices. However, the place is small and the ambience is rather lacking, but who cares if the food is great. They also had a rather large Thai menu for those who don't like sushi and a huge parking lot since they are located in a shopping area. If you like sushi I would definitly recommend this place. I will definitly be back.
