After reading several reviews, I had rather high expectations. Some other people that wrote reviews around the internet seem to absolutely love the place. This might have added to my disappointment, but I would have been somewhat disappointed even without the glowing reviews. So just a warning, if you choose to eat there, don't expect it to be amazing. It wasn't, by a longshot.

We went for lunch on a weekday, around noon. The place was full, but we didn't have to wait very long for a table (less than 5 minutes). I quickly noticed there were only 3 waitresses for the entire place, and they were running around like crazy trying to do everything. It was very crampt and chaotic.

I ordered the roast beef with Mac&Cheese, Okra, and cornbread. The person I was with ordered BBQ with Okra, twice-baked potato, and rolls.

We got our food pretty quick, maybe about 5-10 minutes after we ordered. The waitress mixed up both our food and drinks when she brought them. No big deal, we just switched the plates and we were good. I noticed a minute later that she had brought the rolls, but not my cornbread. She later came over and asked "is everything alright?" but then turned and walked off before I could finish chewing and say a single word. That's when I started getting annoyed. I just gave up trying to get her attention and went without the cornbread.

I then started eating the food. The sides were good. The roast beef was not. First of all, it was lukewarm. It was also watery, and didn't have much taste. I sort-of think they just took BBQ and put water and gravy on it. It looked identical to the BBQ. In other words, it didn't look like any roast beef I'd ever had before. I was also told later by the person I was with that the BBQ wasn't very good either.

As for the price, it was about average I suppose. It was a little less than what you'd pay at your average restaurant, but the portions were smaller as well. The entree and 2 sides fit on a single average-sized plate. They weren't piled high, but weren't skimpy either.

Any of these flaws would have been overlooked, but all of them together just added up to a disappointing experience. You may have better luck with different entrees, but don't expect it to be an amazing experience like other reviews I've read.

This restaurant is a family restaurant.. the atmosphere is in the 60s and 70s style, with good homestyle food and several different menu items for all tastes. The restaurant is clean , the staff is friendly, always providing a smile for anyone that comes in.. Its not a very big restaurant but its always full and the patrons are all happy with the service they recieve. The prices are compareable to others in the area.

PROS: very friendly and provide good home style foods.
CONS: the restaurant is small but very quaint.
