.

As public golf courses go, Moccasin Bend is pretty average. It is an 18 hole, par 72, course with Bermuda fairways large bent grass greens. It measures 6,086 yards from the white tees. It is conveniently located less than 2 miles from downtown Chattanooga, bordering on the Tennessee River, and features scenic views of Lookout Mountain.

The course itself is very playable for the average golfer, with relatively wide open fairways, and a minimum of hazards. The most difficult hole is the 460 yard 7th, a par 5, with water down the right side and an elevated green.

The staff is friendly, and facilities include a small clubhouse and pro shop, a driving range, putting green, and practice area for chipping and bunker play. The fees are $18.50 for 18 holes on weekdays and $22.00 on weekends. Cart fees are $10 per person. Walking is allowed, and pull carts are available.

Overall, Moccasin Bend is one of the better pubic, daily fee, courses in the Chattanooga area, and depending on the time of year, the course is relatively well kept. For the price, it's a pretty good deal.

PROS: Playable, Scenic Views
CONS: Not as well kept as some public courses
