I must say that the Park Cafe is about as good as it gets. Great service, great atmosphere, and delicious food. The tenderloin tails are to die for, I find myself craving them. They have excellent service here. When the weather is good sit on the back patio, it's very nice. Prices are affordable.

Park Cafe is my favorite spot in town for everything from going on a fancy date night to sitting down for a glass of wine at the bar. I've found myself there for so many special occasions over the last year, that I don't really think of celebrating anywhere else anymore. I was there for New Years and shared a complementary glass of champagne at the bar with the rest of the patrons. I went there with my family of 10 for a graduation celebration. I also attended the Nashville Cares benefit, Dine-Out-for-Life, with my boss and co-workers.

The menu is always changing, because the chef is constantly making additions and trying out new delicious plates. There is also a bar menu if you just want to get a drink and a plate of the best macaroni and cheese in town! The sommelier has wonderful taste. She is also the manager, and her love of food and wine shows in the care she shows for her customers and the quality of the product she delivers. Props to you! I'll be coming in to see you time and time again.!

Cons: none

I have been going to Park Cafe for many years, and I have never been disappointed. I must admit to a small amount of trepidation upon finding out that they had a new chef... I needn't have been concerned. Not only was I impressed with the new menu additions & wine selections, I was impressed with the chef himself. There's something about having the chef take time out to visit your table and inquire about your meal, that makes the food taste even better. Great food AND fantastic service- who knew? It's a lost art in many restaurants, but not, it seems, at the Park Cafe. The staff is wonderful, and the food is even better now than it has ever been. I am intrigued by the new chef's ingenuity and his care & attention to detail. He's not afraid to experiment, and yet he maintains the Park Cafe's menu favorites. A perfect combination!

Last night was my first time eating at Park Cafe. I immediately appreciated the restaurants popularity because of the busy waiting area and bar. The restaurant is in a house and this causes it to feel cozy. The lighting is darker than most restaurants and helped create a romantic atmosphere. The hostess was extremely friendly and sincere. The waitor promptly asked what we wanted to drink, and then told us the nights specials. The waitor service could not have been better (which is why he received a 25% tip). The waitor ensured we had what we wanted and kept the drinks full, but he did not get bothersome as they do at some restaurants. The food was simply delicious, and presented beautifully. The mongolian beef was extremely well seasoned and just the right size portion for an appetizer. The shrimp and risotto entree is a great choice and again, the right size (not enough for three people like entree's are at some restaurants). My date and I split an order of the famous Green Chile Macaroni and Cheese, best mac-n-cheese ever. If you want a pre-dinner drink, try the Tennessee Twister/Tea, it is great. Overall, this restaurant is an excellent choice for a special occasion or a romantic date. The table we had was in a small room at the front of the restaurant. There were only 2 tables in the room and this made the dinner special and private. I will eat at the Park Cafe again, and again.

I took a couple of local Nashville professional women to dinner at Park Cafe last year and loved the food, ambiance, privacy (several rooms) and charm. I had a heck of a time trying to locate it again but one of the ladies reminded me of the name. I'm planning to take 15 guests in a few weeks for dinner when I return to Nashville.

Special but not pretenious. Interesting art work on the walls.

had dinner again and it was still wonderful.
planning to host another business dinner in September.

Went when it first opened and it was fabulous, back again two years ago and enjoyed it even more. Went a couple of months ago and found it quite disappointing. Service was poor and food was only adequate. Success has apparently spoiled the quality of food and service. Probably won't go back. We were lost in the crowd.

Pros: Neat out of the way place. Was once outstanding.

Cons: Too busy for servers attention, only valet parking, average food quality.

.

Great food, great wine from a date night to a business dinner. The menu is seasonal so all the ingredients are sure to be the freshest. Parking is a bit of a pain but they tend to make it work.

Went with a group of 5 on a weekend night and was seated about 10 minutes after our reservation (but likely only because one member of our group called in advance and said we would not be amenable to waiting 30 minutes for our reservation like last time.) After we were seated our waiter Joseph came over, but with another hostess (or waitress) who wanted to inform us that Joseph was GREAT but new. This should have been our warning. Our food was wonderful, but dinner took over 2 1/2 hrs. Joseph apologized when ours drinks took too long, apologized when one dish was sent back (described as "tuna sashimi" but the tuna was heavily seared) and took 30+ minutes, apologized when our checks took forever. This restaurant gets the business and is so busy because of the food, not necessarily because they handle the volume well. Try Park Cafe, but leave a lot of time for your meal!

My husband and I wanted to try Park Cafe, and we were pleased with our experience overall. I will say that it is Eclectic, a littled crowded, and you really need reservations. The food is so good, though. This is a Nashville Restaraunt that you should try. I would not go for a romantic dinner, though; it is a bit loud and tables are close together. However, the cuisine is fabulous!

We have intended to try Park Cafe for a looooong time but we've just never gotten around to it, so we decided to go for New Year's Eve. We had such an AMAZING dinner. The service was wonderful, the food was great, the atmosphere was just perfect for NYE. We are both huge foodies and are pretty hard to please, but this place really hits the spot. We agreed it was the best meal we've had since we returned from Paris about this time last year. A terrific place to sit and linger over dinner. The Mongolian Beef appetizer is to-die-for!!! Everything was good, but that really stood out. My only complaint: a single stall women's restroom, which made for some pretty long lines on such a busy night.

Don't gorge yourself on the bread before the meal, you will ruin a fantastic dinner! The atmoshpere is awesome and the food preparation, and presentation is tops. I like to get there a little early to sit at or near the bar to wait. The personel and clientelle are worth watching, very professional and classy. Did I mention the food is to die for.

Park Cafe is ALWAYS fabulous! A few months ago, I was disappointed that the scallop and gnocchi dish was taken off the menu, but my new favorite is the scallop and pasta stuffed zucchini dish! Absolutely superb! Of course, the baby spinach salad and the chocolate molten cake are a must on EVERY visit regardless of the entree choice! The service is excellent and the ambiance, perfect! Whether you are looking for a nice dinner out or a place to celebrate a special occasion, Park Cafe is certainly the place to go! In addition, the wine list offers a unique listing of new and familiar wines. I have also appreciated through the years how management generously gives to the community.

This place is simply the best. I'm all for trying new things...but when 7 out of 10 reviews mention the scallops & gnocchi dish as a suggestion or their favorite dish anywhere....don't take it off the menu EVER! I was so disappointed my last visit to find it is no longer a "standard" after many years of being on the menu. The new scallop dish was not in the same league, actually it was mediocre in my opinon, and nothing at the Park Cafe is ever mediocre. Personally, I am not one for change. I'll still visit the park cafe on occasion and try to find a new dish I like. However, until I know that classic scallop dish is back, I'm going to try some other places. This may end up being a good thing. Chef Willie, if you were a popular singer, would you not do your best known song every performance? Without that dish it's still a great show, but like you forgot to include your greatest crowd pleaser.

Park Cafe is my favorite restaurant in Nashville. The food is consistently delicious & the service is always great. The decor is a bit cheesy, but the lights are dim, so it's not too distracting. Love the little window seat area... very romantic. I do wish they had kept the scallops & gnocchi dish on the menu. That was my favorite dish. I had the jumbo scallops the last time I went & they had grit in them. That was a bit disappointing. Try the pastry-baked brie with walnuts & raspberries for your appetizer. It's amazing. Deck seating is uncomfortable, so that's not recommended.

I've been to Park Cafe on three different occassions, each time with different people, and every time has been a memorable and enjoyable experience. In the past six years that I've been in Nashville, I've been to just about every fine restaurant, but so far this is the best one. The menu is unique but not too overwhelming, they have new specials every night, and the dessert is fantastic. The prices are very reasonable as well. Also, the staff is always pleasant, and you never know what celebrity you might see there! I would definitely recommend everyone try this for themselves at least once. Otherwise, you are missing out on some of the best food in Nashville in my opinion!

I dined at the Park Cafe' on May 20th. It was my first time there. They seated us very quickly. Our server was very pleasant and quick. The food was spectacular. The wine list is more than adequate. It was a great experience all around, and I would recommend it to anyone.

I would not recommend Park Cafe, our experience was awful. The service was poor and they messed up our bill three times and never did get it straight. The whole process took 45 minutes to get straight and still they over charged us and we had to call them the next day. The server told us, things sometimes just messed up and made no offer to dismiss the gratuity. IMOP, over priced for the service you get.

From the moment they took our reservation (party of six) to our arrival, the managers were very caring and accomodating. My wife and I arrived early and had a great drink at the bar. Most of our meals were good, some better than others. (Althought chefs in this town like to add too many ingredients to dishes) On a negative note, our server, although friendly, disappeared after the entrees were dropped. With a little more attentiveness, she could have replaced the two entrees, which sat uneaten at our table. Also, the wine list, although interesting, is probably not the best in town. A good list, but not great. Now you may ask, why would you go back? Again, the hospitaltiy and warmth of the room and managers, is good enough for another try. However, if on the next visit the food and service falter, it would be our last visit.

Every restaurant I try in Nashville has a down side; Park Cafe is no exception. The food was fine, the environment lovely, but the loudest person in the room was our overly chipper waitress. I sure do miss truely professional service that most big cities have; I've rarely found it in Nashville.

This was the first time I had been to park cafe. Except for the extremely long wait, even though we had reservations for an hour earlier, once we were seated the service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgable. He was extremely informative about the wines. The portions were very filling and satisfying to the pallate.

The scallop dish w/ coconut rice is to die for. In 03' I dined with a new date and we shared the most amazing seasonal dessert. In 04' I requested that dessert on the night I proposed to her. It was not on the menu and Chef Willie made 2 pieces specifically for us. In 05' she became my wife and we do our best to eat at one of nashville's best 4 or 5 times a year. A few of the dining rooms are a bit cramped, but an earlier dine time & request with the reservation can fix that.

I have only visited Park Cafe once, and must say I was a bit disappointed. The atmosphere is great, and the wine selection is superb but the entrees were lacking. I was initially excited about the meal when I saw the wine list and tasted the appetizers, but was soon disappointed when both of our entrees arrived bland and overcooked. The filet was overcooked and virtually flavorless and I can say the same for the scallops: bland and rubbery. The dessert was nearly good enough to make up for the dinner, but not quite. What's more, when the bill arrived: Buyers remorse.

Our appetizer, the calamari, was enough to feed a table of 4. The chicken tortilla soup was not overwhelmed with melted cheese like you might find at other restaurants, and it was very spicy. The port fig salad was my favorite. All the ingredients blended so nicely together. My husband got the duck with poached pears, sauteed arugula, and a sweet potato risotto. He was in heaven! The duck was tender and the sweet potato risotto was a delightful surprise. I got the scallops with potato gnocchi and aspargus. The scallops were huge and the gnocchi was done perfectly. Unfortunately, we were too stuffed for dessert. We did chuckle about the music selection as noted by other reviewers. U2, John Mayer, Jamie Collum (Lightning 100 stuff). Our bill with 3 glasses of wine, tax, and tip was $110.

First of all, their calamari is the best in town, the standard to which we hold all other squid. The food has been good the 2 times we've eaten there. My only problem with the place is the atmosphere / decor. i don't like the tiny, individual rooms. you can easily hear other people's conversations (especially if they are a party of 5 and you are only 2 people!), thus making you focus on having extremely hushed conversation, and trying to ignore some music execs who are trying in vain to remember who sang "Sweet Talkin Woman." (for the record, gentlemen, it was ELO!). Also I really hate the art work. But, luckily for them the service and food balanced these other complaints. next time, we'll just choose bar seating.

15 of us ate at the Park Cafe on Saturday night. We had reservations and were seated immediately. The staff were helpful and accommodating. The food was superb and the service excellent! Our server was unobtrusive, but managed to meet our every need, sometimes even before we asked. They also got all the dinners on the table, piping hot, almost simultaneously. No mean feat. I highly recommend this restaurant. The wine list is also impressive.

For those of you nashvillians who really appreciate great service, wonderful food for the buck and a pleasant atmosphere, Park is the place. This is one of the only consistently good dining experiences I have had in Nashville. They don't act "too cool for school" like Mambu, and they actually treat you like you are a customer, and not an uncultured inconvenience (unlike Mambu). Hey, I think I may have figured it out...good management skills? Long live park.

One word, and it's not even a word: mmmmmmm. After reading previous and recent poor ratings, we were timid about going back to Park, but are incredibly pleased that we did. The experience was complete from food to service to atmosphere, although I must say the music selections were not what I would expect to accompany everthing else. John Mayer, anyone? So, don't heed the angry reviewers warning. Three educated palates gave the Park six thumbs up!

This is one of the best places for the not-so-blah meal. Terrific service, wine and the dishes are FANTASTIC. If you're tired of the meat and three, same ole - same ole and like to have your palate tantalized, this is the place for you. The dishes are so unique, you'll swear you weren't in Nashville.

I have had dinner at Park Cafe many times, and it has always been wonderful. I do not work there but have known the Chef/Owner (Willie Thomas) for several years and worked along side him for a few also. I can personally say that he takes great pride in doing everything to the best of his ability. His kitchen staff is the best of the best, and his wait staff is on top of it. If I was to recomend a restaurant it would be the first on my list. A A+ for Food, Service, & Cleanliness.

We travel from Kentucky to Nashville frequently in search of a gem of a restaurant amidst the expanse of mediocrity. Serendipity has always led us to paths of romantic interludes, so long that our hearts and souls welcomed it. So it was when we happened upon Park Cafe...each intimate vignette a display of beautiful art tempting the eyes as delightful morsels dance past the tables to their final destination where their delectable tastes nurture the recipient's soul.

The wonderfully accommodating chef even kindly manipulated his masterful creation (at the chef's request) to allow my sweet husband to enjoy one of his specialties of the evening (my husband does not consume any cheeses, thus, it was omitted).

I could not have been more pleasantly awed.

All of the food on the menu is unbelievably great, and the staff couldnt be better, especially the bartender JJ, make sure and say hi. Dont need reservations if you eat at the bar. If you travel to Nashville on business, there is no better spot to unwind and feel comfortable after a grueling day of meetings.

The menu is unique and everything I've eaten is great. A nice change from mundane faire. You can actually dine just on appetizers, soups and salads if you wish. It's cozy but a bit crowded. We made reservations way ahead but still got "punished" with a cramped table.

This should be ranked number one. One of the best pork loins I have ever had. Atmosphere is great, service was great. A little pricey but worth it.

Listen this place is a true, LOCAL nice restaurant. The other places like Melting pot, PF Changs, The Palm, etc are ALL copy cats. I've been to all those in NY and Miami and Chicago and they are excellent, but not UNIQUE. PARK CAFE is UNIQUE, with excellent service and out of the way - across the street from gas stations!!! Very good food and selections- delicious dessserts (um the chocolate) and fantastic service- good bar too. I can't say enough about it- except a few ofthe clientele needs to know how to dress up a little......

I must say that I have never been disappointed in the food or the service at Park Cafe. The specials are always incredible and the desserts are to die for! Not many restaurants rate #1 in every category, but Park Cafe is one of them. It ranks tops in food, service, and ambience.

Park Cafe is THE BEST! The crab cake appetizer is the best I've EVER had. The special was Red Snapper over asparagus with a decadent bearnaise topping it all off. EXTREMELY fresh seafood. Delicious breads come with olive oil & balsamic vinegar for dipping. Service was professional, friendly, and attentive. Check it out; you won't be disappointed. Look out Zola/Bound'ry!

Owner Willy Thomas has a long and storied career in Nashville. His playful fusion of Southern cooking and worldly touches takes center stage at this West Nashville restaurant. Try the appetizer of quail over a bacon and brown butter…
