Corky's is okay. The food is mediocre, the atmosphere horrid. I'll give you two pieces of advice:
1. When outside the US, don't eat where you can hear American voices
2. When in Memphis, don't eat at Corky's.

You'll get better food with either of these, every time.

Lots of great bbq in Memphis, but this is probably my favorite. Ribs were very good. But the banana pudding and pecan pie were excellent too. The one on Poplar is always crowded, but well worth the wait. Very friendly staff too.

I loved the dry ribs, they were meaty and moist. Try the location on Poplar, that's where I ate- multiple times.

This place is to much of franchise taste. The ribs were tough and dry. No comparsion to the Bar-B-Que Shope.\r\nService was good. You can get the same ribs in Atlanta at O'Charlies.

Corky's is OK. Im from here and not a fan. Their BBQ is not great yet not bad either,I guess its middle of the road. The best thing here, I believe, is the tamales. There is better BBQ in Memphis, go explore, you will love the taste challenge.

I had great ribs. The meat fell right off the bone and the dry rub was really good. However, my co-worker ordered the same and his were way overdone, meat totally dried out. So, on the same day, same time, it just goes to show that consistancy is hard to achieve. If they were too dry the first time, tell them and try again. They definitely got my order right. Parking is scarce even on Mon night.

My husband and I were in Memphis touring their graduate school and we decided that since we were in Memphis we had to have bbq. I looked online for probably an hour trying to choose a restaurant. Finally we went with Corkys because it has good ratings and was close to our hotel. All I can say is WOW. I am a very slim woman and don't normally finish everything on my plate but I did that night. I even was drizzling bbq sauce on the rolls they brought us! The service was great and the ambience of the restuarant was very nice. Be prepared to wait a long time though especially if you are going on the weekends. It is well worth it though. Their pulled pork bbq sandwich was easily the best I've ever had!

The sandwiches are good, not great, but this business about Corky's being the best in Memphis is a joke. They are the best marketed operation for sure, but the quality of their product doesn't measure up among true Memphis BBQ restaurants. The ribs aren't in the top 10.

Corky's is by far the Best BBQ in Memphis. I absolutely love their BBQ nachos and their onion load is to die for. If you want great BBQ at a great price then look no farther! They even offer a drive thru.

Wet ribs, dry ribs, bananna pudding....it's all excellent. Even the dinner rolls they bring you are great. Everything is good and nothing is bad. They're wet ribs are so good.....lets just say that my fingers have never tasted this good. The meat just fell right off the bone. They even have the dry rub for the ribs and yes those were good too. Parking lacks quite a bit to be desired. Had to wait awhile to get seated but no more than any other place.

I just like their sauce. That's why they get high marks from me. I've been told that their dry ribs have more meat on them than do the wet ribs. This place to me is a quintessential Memphis BBQ joint.

The food is always pretty good here. The service is good too. Dinner for 2 can easily be $35, so not really on the cheap side, but the value is there. The play great 50s music in the restaurant. Parking is terribly inadequate.

You can ask anyone in Memphis where to eat barbecue and Corky's will often top most people's lists. This location in East Memphis is the original. Driving down Poplar you can smell the fire pit and follow the smoke toward this immensely popular place . There is even a drive though for fast to go service. Corky's offers both wet and dry ribs. I prefer the wet ones. Their rolls are fabulous for mopping up extra barbecue sauce. Be sure to ask for extra ones (and napkins!). 50's era music can be heard in the background, and Corky's merchandise is also available for purchase in the front of the restuarant. If you only to get try one barbecue place in Memphis, pick Corky's!

I can't believe in 11 reviews, nobody mentioned the pulled pork BBQ Nachos! These are wonderful! They are in the appetizer menu unless I am mistaken but they are huge, more than enough for a meal. I might also mention the wet ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, slaw and beans. I was too full to make it to dessert. I will agree that Rendezvous has the best dry ribs in Memphis but for anything else, Corkey's is the place to go. I don't know where the bad revies came from but we always visit the one on Poplar and although it is always crowded, seating doesn't usually take long. You can also have the food shipped to you as well as buy it in many grocery stores.

Corky's BBQ is second to none! Their Memphis dry-rub ribs were incredibly moist and tender, and I absolutely love the potato salad. (It's sour cream base is the difference I think!) We weren't sure we would enjoy BBQ from a chain so much, but it was fabulous!

Before visiting Mempis I was told by many Memphians that a visit to Corky's should be my top priority. I took thier advice and was very well pleased. The food, as well as desserts, was just what I expected of Memphis BBQ! If you want a good Memphis experience I would recommend including a stop to Corky's.

My family and I were recently in Memphis and made a point of getting BBQ while we were visiting. We spent the morning on Beale St. and decided to go to Corky's for lunch. The atmosphere was more of a take out place. It was very small with only 3 tables. I understand there is a larger restaurant located elsewhere. Regardless, I would not have minded being squeezed in there, if the food had been even remotely good. It was below average when I compare it to other BBQ we have had (and I live in Michigan!) The men behind the counter were not even attempting to be friendly(so much for southern hospitality) and the price was too high for what we received. I am sure Memphis has some great BBQ, but for my money, it can't be found at Corkey's.

The best Bar-B-Q in all TN. There is a Corky's in the Northwest Terminal of the Memphis airport, but it is a shadow of the Poplar location. The pulled pork sandwich is amazing.

I don't understand why Corky's is always rated as one of the best bbq restaurants in Memphis. I have tried their dry ribs twice and both times I was really disappointed. They are not tender, you have to practically saw them apart. For great bbq in Memphis, I recommend Rendezvous for dry ribs and Jim Neely's Interstate BBQ for wet ribs.

I've lived in Memphis for over 17 years, and I must say that Corky's BBQ is the only BBQ in Memphis, or the surrounding areas, fit to eat. The service is great; the environment is comfortable and appealing to even the most critical of observers; and the food--all of it--is irresistably delightful, from the onion loaf all the way to the pie. This is the best eating-place in all of Memphis.

Put barbecue, pork, and buffet together and the equation is always CORKY'S! The buffet never lacks a choice of something for everyone - dry ribs, wet ribs, pulled pork, barbecue chicken, deliciously fresh cole slaw, corn-on-the-cob. And hot, fresh rolls that compliment the meal to a tea! I can never leave there without having made at least two trips 'round the bar....and I'm a small person!! Just drive by sometime. The aroma in the air will pull you straight to the front door. And you can bet you won't leave without a smile and a satisfied tummy!

I guess about two times now I have been on a NWA flight and stopped over in Memphis. I saw the Corky's BBQ inside the terminal and was curious as to what the food was like. I have always loved BBQ and thought I should try some from where some say the home of BBQ is. After the long line and attitude from the cashier, I finally got my Rib Sandwhich. It taste OK, but I can't say it was the best. I may have to try again in a regular Corkys that doesn't have to rush their BBQ.

This place packs in the crowds -- every night is a wait, but weekends are ridiculous. The ""Q"" is terrific and the place is fun and comfortable. Bring the kids and don't worry about dressing up. Don't even try to eat healthy -- get the ribs and the gigantic fried onion loaf and dessert. Live a little.
