I've been using vgs now for over four years since we moved to Knoxville. The cakes are always good but this past week I tried the coconut creme and it is one of the best things I've ever tasted!!! If you like coconut, I can not recommend it highly enough. Their cakes are expensive but I'm picky and cakes are only for special occasions for us. This was worth every penny.

I felt their customer service was horrible and the staff including the owner was unnecessarily rude. My order was incorrect and they seemed to care less with a take it and get out attitude. No one was in the least bit concerned or apologetic that my order wasn't right. When I got the cake home I discovered it had a structural problem. It started to sag during the party and eventually the birthday candle and some of the frosting fell off the cake onto the table. After cutting into the cake we found they had iced the back side of the cake with over one inch of icing, which is not structurally sound. I agreed with the other review. I thought the cake itself was not that tasty, dry and overpriced. I was very disappointed in not only the quality of their product but customer service too. If I could give this place a zero star I would. I would never again patron this establishment after the way the staff and owner treated me nor would I recommend anyone else do so either.

We've had their corn bread, scones, danishes, muffins, cakes, cookies all of it are excellent. We have made purchases from the farmers market and their Farragut shop. Their price is a little steap, but we've never been disappointed. This is one of Knoxville's best!

Read the reviews & totally agree-The best bakery in town! The price you pay for goods is worth getting fresh baked cakes, bread, etc. Afterall, it's not like a local grocery store is removing the cake from freezer!. I'm sure there is hard work involved in "preparing from scratch", & getting it just right. Some of the reviews were about price & staff. I have found that sometimes people have the mindset to not like something once they have paid the price. Also, one review talked about the staff saying they should open their eyes. It sounded to me like the person was "cutting up" with the customer and being funny. We sometimes interpret comments wrongly according our mood or mindset. Anyway, everone has the right to their opionion, but I love VG's!

Based on the previous reviews, I ordered a 1/2 sheet birthday cake. I ordered vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. Pretty simple. The cost was $62.00. It was my son's 14th birthday. The cake was very dry.My guests and I were very disappointed. It was definitely not worth the expense.

I have to say, VG's has some of the best baked goods I've ever had. Everything is baked fresh each day. My personal favorite are the cream cheese rolls. On time, I was lucky enough to stumble in when the baker had fresh peaches and made peaches and cream rools. These are absolutely to die for. The red velvet cake and cupcakes are also amazing. I had one as my birthday cake this year, and it was easily the best cake I've ever had for a birthday. I've never tried their breads, but I look forward to having the chance some day. If you're down in Farragut and you have an extra $3.75 on you, though, DEFINITELY pick up one of the huge, delicious cream cheese rolls. You won't be sorry.

VG's Bakery is located in Farragut right next to the Kohl's shopping center on Kingston Pike. I've been buying my bread and other bakery items from them weekly for almost 5 years now. I've gotten to know Dave's friendly jovial charm as he greets his regular customers by name. Vanessa's a little more shy, but she is the talent in the kitchen. Dave is often at the Farmer's Market at the Laurel Presbytarian church on Friday afternoons, and at Market Square on Saturday mornings. There are no preservatives in their breads, so I freeze it to keep it fresh. I make my children's sandwiches for school every day with their bread, and they love it. Vanessa will bake specialty items if you order them in advance. I won't buy my cakes anywhere else, and her scones are the best I've ever tasted. She always has seasonal items, like pumpkin bread, and I buy a lot of that at the end of the season and freeze it. I don't buy my baked goods anywhere else unless it's an emergency.VG Bakery will be closed the week between Christmas and New Years. (Dave will probably be refinishing his already spotless floors during that time.) Make sure you stock up for that entire week!! You can't find a better bakery!

I have visited this vender's table at Knoxville's Market Square during the week and on the weekends. The selection is good for not being at an actual bakery, the prices are very reasonable and the quality of the baked goods is great. I feel I have finally found some good bread in Knoxville by visiting their table and look forward to visiting their location on Kingston Pike to see what else they have to offer.

This is usually one of the most popular vendors @ Market Square and there is almost always a line to their table and things can be a little hectic around it. If you are going to the Market Square location, be sure to get there early for the best selection.

At a recent Farmer's Market in downtown Knoxville, VG's Bakery had a table set up selling some of their baked goods, specifically cookies, cinnamon rolls and a giant cinnamon pretzel. Ecstatic to finally find a real bakery in Knoxville I ordered the giant pretzel and had the money in hand to pay when I asked the guy if they had a store location. Sure enough they are located at 11552 Kingston Pike on my end of town. I made a comment that I wish they advertised more to which he replied that I should listen better. What?!? When he told me of his location and I replied I also lived in that area he told me that I should open my eyes more. really!!!

The food looked really good, but I wasn't about to hand over my hard-earned money to this clown who was insulting me for being excited about their existence and asking if he advertised. I wished him farewell, put my money back in my pocket and went on my way.

True fresh home-baked goods is something that's surprisingly not found often in Knoxville. However, civility and manners abound here...I wish VG's would get some!

I first heard of this bakery through their tie with the locally owned radio station 105.3. They disc jockey's weren't kidding when they said the sweets made here were the best in town.

So far, I have special ordered two cakes, and have bought a variety of snacks from them. Everything has tasted world class. The staff is friendly and they know how to help order that perfect birthday cake. If you are a bakery, dessert, or food fan, be sure to give them a try. Prices are pretty cheap too, which helps feed teh craving with ease.

PROS: Price, staff
CONS: none as of yet
