Wow! Been coming here for over 14 years and it is still the best and safest sushi ever. Luke is a great host and makes ever order by hand, the old fashioned way. The food is consistantly great. Try the "Phil Roll" when you go. Luke and I

I love this place. I especially love that the chef will make you anything you want, even if it's not on the menu. The prices are very comparable to any other sushi joint in the city, and the fish is always fresh!

Pros: Friendly, Price-competitive, Laid-back

Cons: I like everything

Asahi is my favorite sushi place in Nashville. I am a simple sushi person. I'd rather order spicy tuna and crunchy shrimp than anything with fancy sauce or deep fried on the outside, and Asahi delivers every time. I have also tried the miso soup, which is yummy. The waitresses and sushi chef are very welcoming and kind. I recommend this to anyone who wants a good, fresh sushi dinner!

This is my favorite sushi place in all of Nashville. The waitresses are extremely friendly, hard to understand but very nice. The main chef is great. He remembers the names of regular customers and is sure to ask about their family and life. This restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere that makes the meal enjoyable and worth while.

The main chef makes sure that the fish received is acceptable and sets high standards for his cooking. He is flexible and will even make custom rolls for you if you ask him.

I'm not sure what's happened since the last reviewer dined here, but I've been here on several occasions and the fish is consistently fresh and well presented. The service is attentive, quick and thorough. The miso soup is quite nice, the tempura is light and correctly cooked, and the cost is comparible to others. All in all, a great West Nashville sushi option.

Pros: Fresh fish, attentive service, well done!

Cons: Ambiance on par with other small sushi bars.

Asahi is one of the best sushi restaurants in Nashville! I love the small, intimate setting of the place. Staff and chefs are always friendly, and the prices aren't bad either. I love Asahi!

PROS: Great sushi, great prices, great atmosphere and staff.
CONS: sometimes crowded because of small space.

Small pieces of sushi, overall the cost of our meal was not equal to the amouth of food that was served, very over priced. The service was below average and they only had three other tables of customers.

I have tried and tried again to like this place, but somehow, I always leave broke and confused. The last time we were in there, we had to order our saki three times, and when it came, it tasted like dishwater. The sushi is below average and the staff, while overly attentive, come of as annoying and not helpful. Oh yea, then you get the bill.

Luke is one of the nicest guys you will meet and makes some mean sushi. He even has my seven year old eating raw fish.

Being new to town, so far, Asahi is a great place for sushi. Everything was fresh and we were able to try different rolls. Wish they had more entrees but understand it's truly a sushi restaurant. Very authentic looking on the inside. Sit at the sushi bar or have your own private table. Everyone very nice and attentive. Parking is lacking because of location.
