My young child had a headache and high fever. Was given an immediate appointement. Saw Dr. Baker and she was wonderful. She took the time to find out what was wrong with my child. The nurses were very kind and explained to my child what they were doing. We have been going to this practice for several years with all my children. We see Dr. Rodgers and Dr. Baker. They both take time with my children and explain things to us. I would rather wait a little to see a doctor that will take time with my family than to be in and out and something be overlooked. I went to this practice one the reccomendation of a friend who has a autistic child and other special needs. She stated that Dr. Rodgers is THE doctor for anyone who has a special needs child. Dr. Baker was also very good with their child. We will stay with this practice until the last child is too old to see. The staff and doctors are friendly, knowledgable and we consider them family.

I have been taking my daughter to this office for the past year and have seen both Dr. Rodgers and Dr. Eakes. Every time I have been in the office, I have told myself that I would not come back. But then I have always decided to give them one more chance because the doctors aren't really that bad and I feel that most of the issues are due to the staff and management of this office. Today was the last chance.
We had an 8:00 appointment and were the first people in the office and the first ones taken back to be seen (after waiting for 30 min.). We were taken back and I was told to undress my daughter and bring her out to get weighed. We then waited at the scale for a little bit (maybe 5 min?) before the aide reappeared. We walked ourselves back to the room and waited for another 10-15 min before being seen. If this was all, then I wouldn't be too upset because I understand that it can take a while to be seen at almost any office. We saw the Dr. for <5 min and then had to wait 45 min more to get vaccines. I wasn't even told what the vaccines were or what to watch for. I had to ask. I understand that there are bad days, but this type of waiting and poor communication has been very consistent with this office.
As for the doctors - Dr. Rodgers is very comfortable with young children and seems as though he really enjoys his job. He is a bit old school, but very friendly. We saw him until 3 visits ago when we went for our appointment with him and he was gone. The staff didn't tell me why he was gone (although I didn't ask). We were switched to Dr. Eakes' schedule. When I went to set up a follow-up appointment with Dr. Rodgers, the staff wasn't sure if/when he would be back.
Dr. Eakes - seems intelligent and nice, but a bit shy/nervous around people. He doesn't offer information, but when asked questions, he will talk to you.
My biggest issues are the long waits (the whole process usually takes close to 2 hours; it has taken as little as 45 min and as long as 4 hours), cleanliness (my daughter has gotten sick twice after going in for well-child exams), lack of coordination with the front desk (I have to tell them when we're coming back and why; I have also had to call back to schedule because they told me that they couldn't schedule her that far out when she needed a 3 month checkup), poor call service (my daughter had a temp of 103.6 and I was told not to call them unless her temp was 104.0. I repeated this back to them to make sure that I heard correctly. They didn't tell me what I should do to get her temp down or anything to look for.), and limited hours. I think that I will try another office.
