Smoky Mountain Knife Works Inc sells Nazi propaganda

by JB K.

Smoky Mountain Knife Works sells Nazi/neo-Nazi propaganda. To be clear, I mean items with no historical significance - just decals and modern knives with swastikas.

Many knife "fans" have decided not to do business with them (including their Web site) until they stop selling such items. We believe it is not simply offensive; it is morally wrong. It specifically supports bigotry and hate crimes. We have asked them to stop selling these products, but they have actively refused.

The sale of such merchandise is perfectly legal, of course, but any legitimate business should choose not to sell it. Smoky Mountain Knife Works can certainly afford not to.

They do have a wide selection of products, but I recommend against doing business with them.

A must see!

by jennifer t.

We went for a 3 day weekend and stopped on our way into Pigeon Forge at Knife Works. Well almost 2 hours later we left :) My husband did not want to leave the store and made several purchases. The next day we made another trip there and spent an hour and 30 minutes and a few more purchases!!! On our way out (day 3) we stopped again and more purchases...see the pattern? Needless to say, this store was a hit and now we are planning another trip there this weekend!

Lyle F

by Lyle F.

I purchased my first knives from SMKW about twenty years ago,and I've always been impressed with this retailer. Last year, my daughter and I, had occasion to visit their new museum and buy my daughter a new canoe knife for her birthday, just as I had so long ago. Just the gift she wanted. The store was a real treat and the staff was outstanding. I'd recommend this as a must see, for anyone traveling through the area. Their catalog and online store are excellent as well.

Smoky Mnt. Fun!

by Lucas W. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,938

Smoky Mnt. Knife Works is a place for the entire family, not just the guys! The kids love the museum look downstairs and their selection of toys and goodies and the ladies love the shopping down there as well, with stationary, jams and jellies, kitchen needs, pictures, candles, etc. They have all the TN souvenirs you would want! And they have an excellent variety of knives for every need - camping, cooking, hunting, display and collecting.
If you are in the area, just stop by, even if you are not a knife collector. They have a little something for everyone!

Fantastic place to shop

by Paula E. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,585

We visit Tennessee every year and as soon as we hit the Gatinburg/Pigeon Forge area this is the first stop we make as well as our last stop in Tennessee when we head back home. We absolutely love this store. You can find anything from old fashioned candies and toys for the kids to speciality knives and swords. This is definitely a place the entire family can enjoy!

PROS: Friendly employees, a little of everything under one roof.

Something for everyone!

by James M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 11,058

The name of this store is totally misleading. There is so much more to it than just knives. There's something for everyone in the family to enjoy, from the old-fashioned candies to the toys and home decor. This store is HUGE! It is a great place to browse for unique gifts.

A great knife store

by John B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 10,122

This place is great just to browse in.I could spend hours looking at everything. They obviously feature knives of all types, but they also have a fantastic selection of decorative swords. The staff can answer your questions about what each sword represents and they are attentive to your needs. The prices are surprisingly low and the parking lot is vast. They cater to a lot of tourists but they seem to have time for the locals as well.I highly recommend this store. You can find some really good name-brand knives here.
