We adopted a son from China. We had Dr. Lana check over his medicals before we adopted, and we took him to see the doctor once he arrived in the US. The baby has a slight elevation of lead in his blood. My home was called and someone told this to my husband. We thought nothing else of it. We were all wrapped up in other doctor visits and family adjustment. 5 months later, we get a letter from the Dept. of Health. They wanted to come to our home, take a sample of our son??s blood, and check our home for lead. The letter had on it Laurelwood as the referring party. We explained that our son??s blood was taken days after arriving in America. He came from a Chinese Orphanage. We also explained our home was only 5 years old. This did not matter, and the nurse from the health department was very belligerent and insisted she was coming to our home. When I found out about this from my husband, I called our lawyer. I then called Dr. Lana??s office to ask why they contacted the health department. I got all kinds of excuses. I took our son to our family doctor to get his blood retested. I can not trust laurel wood pediatrics. They turned us into public health like we were endangering our child. We had no idea there was an issue. There was no follow up by the doctor's office. since our son was special needs, we were busy bring him to see other doctors. This should have never happened. My family was treated like we were welfare people by the health department! Can you imagion, a home inspection? Thanks Dr. Lana for the nice Christmas present.

Dr. Lana is a fantastic, thorough and caring doctor; we are blessed to have found her. She takes time and actually listens to any concerns you might have. We use her for our newborn, twin girls and our vivacious and talkative 4 year old son. She seems to truly enjoy visiting with him and treats him like family. In addition, the front office and nursing staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs. We live in De Soto CO, Ms and feel this office is worth the drive!!!

We have worked with Dr. Siegel and Dr. Magdovitz. We LOVE this practice. You walk in and the bright colorful big waiting room is filled with things stations for children to play with a huge aquarium is center stage in the room. Sometimes when we're done, my son wants to stay and play a few minutes before heading to the car. Not only do they take parental concerns seriously and really spend time with your kids, but they will help you get the most out of your insurance for your kids benefit. I recommend them highly, and though we'll likely be moving out of Memphis to DeSoto County, MS soon. I think we'll make the trip and keep our doctors.

As the title says, we see Dr. Yanishevski ("Dr. Lana" to though who struggle with other langugages) This woman came to Memphis and went through another residency despite being an MD in Ukraine. She is professional, extremely thorough and listens to me. I have children with somewhat quirky medical histories, odd allergies, major illnesses/accidents. She is careful to look up any drug interactions BEFORE she writes the prescription and while we have had to wait a few minutes to get back, we know that once she's in the room with us she's completely focused on our children's needs. Her front desk and medical records staff are wonderful. Their phelbotomist is only have to draw blood on easy veins. Go to LeBonheur for anything else.

PROS: Comprehensive care from birth to teens
CONS: phelbotomist is not skilled in difficult blood draws, no x-ray onsite
