I have dealt with several Heat and Air companies here in Clarksville, TN and I am totally sold on Mr. Chris Ellis and Ellis Heat and Air! The last company I used was Morton Mechanical; it was Thanksgiving time and my heat went out and Morton had the biggest add in the phone book so gave them a call and they put a new unit in for me. I was not educated on heat and air units so I went with what the person from Mortons suggested and that was a new unit from the start.

I used Morton Mechanical to service the unit (the unit was six or seven years old at the time) until a year or so ago when the unit started acting up and would not cool my home. Morton said that the unit had a hole in the coil and would not recharge it, claiming the coil had to be replaced or the unit one. Ellis Heat and Air came out and inspected the unit then laid out all the different options, to include recharging the unit to see if or how serious the said hole was, so I choose the least expensive recharging option.

It turned out to be a slow leak (the charge lasted two years) that could not be found. The fact that Mr. Ellis was more interested in working with me and laying out all options up front so I could make an educated decision instead of selling a unit first has convinced me that he cares about the people more the money he might make from them. I have since used Ellis Heat and Air to do repairs on a split unit and I cannot say enough good about this company.

The service I have recieved from Ellis Heating and Air has been exceptional! A year ago I had them come out and service my 20 year old unit and the gentleman (I wish I remembered his name)who helped me was very friendly and honest. He said it just needed to be recharged and that should get us through. I asked if I needed to replace the unit and he said I could shoot for it to last a bit longer. He talked me out of the huge expence instead of talking me into it even though with the age of my unit it was inevitable that we would be replacing it in due time.

This year I was having issues with it cooling again and called them agian to take a look. It was the same thing again and Greg offered to charge it up and get us going and I asked about a new unit. He never pushed me in one way or the other but he did help to ease the pain of the cost. He was sure to give us any break that he could possibly give and to set us up with a 2 year service plan free of charge! He even went ahead and charged the unit for free to get us through a few days until they came out with the new unit. Once it was installed he offered to come out free of charge when we were ready to fire up the heat to ensure everything was running properly.

Greg even took a second to help my nephew with the XBox Live right before he left. :-)

I would highly recommend Ellis Air! It was like having someone in the family come fix our unit rather than calling a business with a quota or timeline to meet.

I can't thank Greg enough for his service right from the beginning since 2008 and he got me through some tough times with my home warranty company. I am pleased to say that I have kept Ellis Air and have gotten rid of my warranty company!!! Greg and Chris have always been so professional and friendly and can't thank them enough for everything they have done for me in the past and recently. My husband was deployed to Afghanistan in 2008... during the warranty, air conditioning fiasco and Greg and Chris did everything they could to make sure my daughter and I had cool air to get through weekends or at least many of them.

In 2010 my husband has deployed again and the first thing I did was call ellisair and Greg and Chris came out to complete maintenance on my unit so that I would not have to go through the same nightmare! They both gave me great advice and because of them I have the contract and will be an Ellis air customer for as long as I live in TN.

I am also very pleased with duct cleaning I received today! Thomas and Frogg (I think I have names right) were professional and showed me how they cleaned the ducts and WOW was there some stuff in those ducts!!! They both gave me tips to save money on my cooling bills without spending a bunch of money! Like setting the ceiling fans and Thomas told me about the electrostatic air filter that I can purchase to be more efficient and will save me money in the long run. I am going to go get one tomorrow!!!

I have to thank Greg again of course because Greg worked this job in around my schedule so that I could have the duct cleaning done now versus waiting until the summer!!!

I really appreciate the information Thomas gave me about all of the other services Ellisair offers and I am excited that I can call Ellis for all of my future needs!!!

Thank you all so much for always being so kind and for doing such wonderful work! You all are making my life easier while my husband is away! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!

I contacted Ellis back in January when my heat went out. They were very prompt and professional. They fixed the problem hassle-free! I will definitely be using them again for my spring tune up coming up and for any other repairs that may be needed in the future!!!

In February my heat went out duing the winter weather. I contacted Ellis to come out and repair it. Not only did they come out during the bad weather, they were prompt in arriving as well. There was no problems at all and that s the kind of business i like to conduct. Ellis can count on me for being a return customer in the future!

i called Ellis when my heat wasnt working.Turned out my thermostat needed replacing.They were very quick in response. The young man who came out was very professional, very knowledgeable, and respectful. I will continue to use Ellis in the future for any repairs that may be needed.

In January, our compressor needed to be replaced. We had Ellis do this repair. Everything at the time of repair went smoothly with not a complaint at all. Now that it is September, our unit quit working. Since it is a long weekend, and I'm pretty sure short notice we could not get Ellis to come out until Tuesday, today is Friday. I'm sure you can all relate to wanting your AC fixed as soon as possible and not 4 days later, so naturally we called someone who could make it out today. After all, your AC doesn't come with a schedule for when it is going to go out.

After a $150 repair bill we were told that there was a cover piece missing from the installation of the new compressor which most likely caused a wire to go bad and burn up. We were told the part comes with a new compressor and he couldn't understand why it was not on there.

The main reason for my review is basically that we were a previous customer and there was no emergency option/after hours service offered from this company. When my air conditioning goes out, I want to know that (even if it's more expensive) at least someone can come out to repair it on an after hours or on call/emergency basis. It was basically a catch 22, wait 4 days and hope the company recognizes the fault and fixes it at no charge, or pay the $150 to have AC on a holiday weekend.

You recieved misleading information..... A long time elapsed between January and September. If there was a "piece" missing the compressor would not have run through the hottest part of summer (or even at all). As stated on our web site V.I.P. club members enjoy after hour service, FREE. We also have an online request form that could have been filled out to request Emergency service as stated on our voice mail. Im sorry for your trouble but i feel like Ellis did nothing wrong and we do stand behind our work during and after hours. However, I think there was misleading information involved with this story as well. If you would like to discuss this further please feel free to call me direct.

We called Ellis after receiving one of their promotions by mail. Unfortunately we needed a new compressor. Ellis installed the compressor and we we`re cooling again within 48 hours. Nick was very friendly and professional.

Not True!They canceled the call earlier that day. They didnt want to wait till we got there so they found someone cheaper who didnt have any work.(for a reason)

I called this heating and cooling place, as I was having a problem with my central air. The guy came out, and I will say he was very nice and courteous. He repaired my unit. A few days later I heard a small explosion noise, and I called him again. He charged me again to fix something else. It never did work right, and in the end I had to call and pay someone else. As nice as he was, I would not contact him again for a heating or cooling problem.
