I have recently been told I can not take my last 2 classes I need to graduate because of a time limit emposed by the Department of Education. I spoke with the DOE and they said that they are unfamiliar with this claim. I have been failed by teachers for their own gratification several times during my schooling with ITT-Tech. Furthermore, I was made promises as to class sizes, tutoring and lab availability when I enrolled that were all lies construed to get me to go their. AND YES YOU CAN GO TO A STATE RUN COLLEGE FOR JUST OVER A 10th OF THE COST OF THIS SCHOOL AND GET THE SAME DEGREE AND EDUCATION! I have even been told by employers that they DO NOT hire ANYONE with an ITT-Tech degree. Also after being denied my appeal to be able to take these last two classes and speaking with the DOE I was told that their appeals process for this kind of situation does not coincide with the DOE's regulations for this kind of process. A teacher even told our class once that since he was quitting he would tell us what went on in a meeting the school had about them being in danger of losing their accreditation to be a school. He told us about them telling everyone to lie and pass students in order to get ""more butts in the seats."" This school is a scam. They also have you sign a piece of paper saying they can send back any overages you may receive in your student loans to ""help you out."" This does not happen the way you think. The school gets you these loans and sits on the overages. I did the math. I am not making this up. When I approached them about this they replied ""Well you signed papers saying we could."" But then they tell you that you have to get more money because you don't have enough to pay for the next quarter? If you want to lose badly on school then by all means, go to ITT-Tech. I PROMISE, IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

SCAM!!!!!!!
I dare the previous poster to prove they payed less at a public school. I am an ITT Tech graduate & it's most def a waist of time & a huge hit to your "pocket book". The degree is worthless. I've had four different employers tell me to my face that I'm not qualified for their position due to my "degree" coming from an ITT Tech. Oh yeah, have I mentioned I paid 50k plus for my crap associates degree. Whether you are a student or an employee, ITT Tech will most def make you want to hang yourself.

I find the current reviewers thoughts lacking both the positive and negative aspects of this school. I am a student at ITT, taking the CNS program (computer networking). And after graduating from ITT, your degree is what you make of it. I personally know friends who have graduated who have gone on to work for major corporations making very good money with this degree. I also know people who are still working at Walmart after getting this degree. The difference? Some people applied themselves and others didn't.

The courses at ITT are difficult. They are long sometimes, and they require study. ITT is VERY good about working around your schedule. Sometimes the degree you choose will require that you go out and get a few certifications. For CNS students THIS IS IMPORTANT! For me, ITT was cheaper than the colleges I'd attended previously. I paid for two years at ITT what I paid for one year at a regular college.

ITT has VERY strict attendance requirements. If you miss five classes in a quarter you are removed from the school and will have to reapply. I find the classes to be enlightening, challenging, and a good fit for a working adult. But like in anything, it's what you do with your piece of paper and the knowledge you've been given when you graduate that makes you. Not the school. ITT will give you an excellent education, without all the hassel of extra, unnecessary classes that other colleges would make you take.

Personally, I would choose ITT over a major university. Then again, that's just me. If you are, however, looking for the full college experience, ITT would not be good for you. ITT Technical Institute is for adults that want to finish school quickly, and head into the job field quickly. There aren't many social activities beyond the few clubs that they have. No dorms, no 'student life' so to speak, as you'd see it in a university. So if you're looking for a major social network, you won't find it at ITT. Sure, you'll find friends in classmates, but don't go looking for a sorority/fraternity type structure.

Oh and before I forget, as far as finding a job goes, students should take advantage of Career Services. ITT Career Services is an amazing department. They will look over your resume, help you find a job while you're in school that is willing to work with students, and they will work with you on acquiring a job before you ever leave school. Usually the latter process begins during your fifth or sixth quarter. (Each quarter is 12 weeks long, and an Associates program runs for 8 quarters.)

The only downside is, they truly do narrow down the students by things like attendance and GPA. Sometimes employers may come in stating that they want the top five students in a class to be available for an interview. In a class of 30, that leaves the rest quite nervous. So don't forget to study. The employers truly want the best of the best.

Warning to all potential students: ITT institute has made a fine business of scamming people. Attend at your own risk and know, full and well, that when you graduate, your degree is basically worthless. You will not be marketable and, unless you are extremely fortunate, you will still be making minimum wage at the job you were in before we started ITT.

I encourage you to seek out employers to find out the validity of ITT degrees before you pursue them. Also, note that you will be paying thousands of dollars more than a degree at a community or state university would cost you. Good luck.

This is speaking from experience from someone knowing 5 recent graduates with degrees in computer networking from ITT.
