Don't waste your time going to the Palm. The staff is unfriendly, the decor dated, and quite frankly, the food isn't all that great. If you want a great steak or high-end meal, you're better off going to Ruth's Chris or better yet,

It is the Palm. The floors are wooden, the celing is metal, the staff is in coats, the food is pricey and the atmosphere does get loud. So if you want something else (like a private candlelit dinner) go somewhere else. If you have kids get a sitter. If you want to dine in an electric atmosphere where it feels like a party is going on and you have the wallet or company card to handle the toll by all means go.

Been there done that, I have eaten at the Palms about 50 times and it "aint what it use to be" the service was okay, the steak was just not all that. The drinks are extremely over priced, and not always full when you get them?

The Palm is a great restaurant as long as you are prepared to spend quite a bit of money. It is a great place to go for those special occasions. The atmosphere is great, and the food is also very good.

My wife and I went there for lunch. Service was excellent but the food was terrible. I had the fish of the day which was Mahi Mahi. The prep and appearence was good but it had no taste. Just about the worst I have ever eaten anywhere. My wife's steak was sent back once because it was too rare and after two attempts, the server removed the charges from the total bill. Over all, if you want good food, go somewhere else. But on the other hand, if you are a visitor to Nashville or not a true native, and want to go to an "upscale" restaurant to "try" to see some high profile people.......go for it. They would love to take your money.

Just be advised that this restaurant DID NOT pass reinspection. How could they not?? To be such a "high class" place? It makes me mad they they charge people high prices for their food yet they don't can't or WON'T keep their food up to the standards people have. It's disgusting.

I ate at the Palm last night as it was my girlfriend's birthday. I did enjoy the valet parking as it is hard to find parking downtown. However, once inside the noise level was tremendous. We ended up having to sit on the same side of the table to hear each other. The food was very good, but not worth the price. If I am going to pay $30 plus for a steak, I expect it to be incredible. For a place that promotes the quality of their steaks, the were no better than a meal at the Outback and Ruth Chris or Flemmings have better taste. The waiters were far from personable and did not smile at all. Then they were out of a vegetable and substitued another (without asking) and then charged us for it. All in all, if you like eating decent, overpriced food in the noise level of a Titan's game then this is the restaruant for you. If you want a nice, quiet restaraunt where the food quality is comparable to the price then choose elsewhere.

We chose this restaurant as we frequent this restaurant several times a year!!!!!
But no more. My money spends good elsewhere!!!
I have had enough.
The atmosphere leaves much to be desired, the noise factor was such that we could not converse with one another.
We made reservations in advance but they stick you in a room with the masses (basically the no bodies)
Waiter could not smile if he was forced to.

WE ARE DONE WITH THIS PLACE !!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the Palm. I was a little leary after reading other reviews. But, I have to say that the service was excellent, food was great, and the atmosphere was nice. We started off with an appetizer of Portobello mushrooms which was awesome. We had the Lobster dinner for two which was wonderful. It is a bit pricey but it was a celebration and we don't normally spend that much on a meal anyway. I have nothing negative to say about The Palm.....I would recommend it.

For all the hype and the social agenda of The Palm, I personally was not impressed. We had dinner there with three other couples and I can say the service was good and we had a great time because of the company. For the prices I would have expected the quality and originality of the food to be much better. For the price there are many more restaurants with more personality and flavor. I will say I was introduced to Chocolate Martinis at The Palm (they do have an excellent Chocolate Martini!) and I am now hooked on this delicious cocktail!

I took a group of 11 to the Palms this past Friday and certainly regretting exposing my out of town guest to such terrible service and a horribly loud restaurant. The service was extremely slow and not attentive - needless to say that several of the meals were delivered cold but by that time, we didn't dare send them back for additional delays. The Palms is advertised as an upscale steakhouse that rewards high-profile patrons but at our table, even adjacent table members could not carry on a conversation with an 'inside voice'. I have had more intimate meals (with warm food) at the Lone Star.
Frankly, our reservation should have been rejected as the restaurant was clearly over their capacity. Needless to say, never again would I attempt a small group at The Palms

We chose this restaurant to celebrate our 1st Anniversary, we were very dissappointed! The food had no flavor, My husband had a strip steak and we have had better steaks at Outback or Longhorn for 1/4 of the price. The potatoes were oily and flavorless. The atmosphere leaves much to be desired, the walls are covered with charictures of famous and not so famous people. The restaurant is loud. All in all we would NOT recommend this for ANY occassion.

Have been to this restaurant a number of times on company sponsored dinners, and I have been consistently unimpressed with the food. Maybe they don't serve as good a food for large groups, but why would I go back if that is the case?

Were seated immediately and courteously. Service was timely, attentive, friendly and fun. The shrimp cocktail was fresh and tasty. Martini's were very good. As we were not extremely hungry past the martini's, shrimp (okay we had a second order they were so good) and lively converstation, we opted to share a steak which the kitchen cut into slices, which upon first sight looked divine and perfectly cooked, and tasted just as it looked. Had a very nice time. Great place to see and be seen in Nashville by names everyone knows. Any time you ask for a recommendation of where to dine in Nashville the Palm is always on the list.

For years I enjoyed traveling to cities that had Palms. I was super excited when Nash got its very own. I've personally never had a bad meal or a staff problem. I like the environment more so than a Ruth Chris or Mortons. The Palm is more casual, lighted better to see the food and menu and the mood is always lively. On most occasions, I skip the Steak and order one of the fish specials. It's enough to dine the next day at home too! I generally dine early Sunday night when reservations are easy and the place isn't packed. When given a choice, I always drive straight to The Palm

You might be intimidated by the price, but you wont be disappointed in the food, service, and atmosphere. There wine list is top notch, and martinis are some of the best in the city. There bartenders, servers, and cooks really take a lot of pride in what they do and because of it you'll have a good server and a perfectly cooked meal. If you dont find something you want on the menu make a request and they will cook it for you. There lunch menu is also highly recommended. During lunchtime this restaurant is filled with all the business men and woman of Nashville and you'll encounter a lot of local celebrities and political figures. The location is also one of the best in the city. The only con of Palm is the price, its expensive and can run you $50 - $75 per person depending on your drinks.

Our recent visit to the palm proved to not only offer great food and fine wine, but an entertaining and friendly staff. If you do not like to have a good time, go be grumpy somewhere else - this place is full of life! The lobster was the most tender we've had, our server couldn't have been more helpful and informative. We also found that this particular place is run by several incredible women - thanks ladies for making our experience one we'll come back for!

My wife, another couple and I went to The Palm on New Years Eve 2002. We were highly disappointed. I thought about writing the owner a letter but they never read them anyway. The four of us ordered four different things. I ordered the Filet Mignon cooked medium with a baked potato and a couple of glasses of wine. The wine was good. The steak was a piece of charcoal on the outside and very dry on the inside. The baked potato was undercooked. It was hard for me to believe that the rich and famous eat here....they probably just go for drinks because you can't eat the food. Very disappointed. Have eaten at The Palm in San Antonio and it was great.

This restaurant was amazing. The food portions were so huge for our group of 7 we had to start combining our side dishes together to fit on the table (they are served family style). The steaks were cooked perfect and were HUGE, the lobster (with the waiters rushing out to crack the claws for you) was heavenly. The service...was flawless (even on a busy New Years Eve)...Thanks Roy and Camaron... With our diverse group of 7 everyone in the bunch thought it was the best meal they had ever had. Everything about the evening was an A+. (Hint, don't overdo the side dishes....one goes a loooooong way)... Great occasion place! Will be back!!!!

We have frequented The Palm in other cities for years and all stand head and shoulders above the restaurant in Nashville by the same name. We have been treated rudely by the host and manager, had substandard food, and the bread has been frozen every time we have been. Some of the servers are good, but would be better served working at a different restaurant.

We have stopped going to "The Palm" in Nashville, but continue to enjoy the restaurant in other cities. Our preference in Nashville is Morton's, where everyone is treated like a special guest.

Very expensive and the food is not nearly as good as you might find at Ruth's Chris or Mortons. My surf and turf fillet was overcooked and dry. My lobster had a funky taste and the appetizers were terribly expensive and the portion sizes were small. Bartenders don't know much about specialty drinks.

If you like the Stockyard and Jimmy Kellys, you will not like the Palm. The service here is excellent and the only thing better are the steaks. They are premium cut and cooked to perfection. The ala carte items can be overwhelming so sharing is advised. The wine list is adequate. From the smile as soon as you enter to the attention of your waiter, the meal is an experience you'll recommend to other. The atmosphere is downtown and matches its location

After hearing many wonderful things about The Palm in NY and LV, we hit the Nashville location when family visited.

The service was fast, courteous, personable and entertaining. The food was amazing and we were able to sample some of the *best* calamari weve ever had, coast to coast.

A little pricey at $600 (inc. drinks, tax and tip) for 4 adults, but it was worth it. When returning, we know to order just *one* appetizer for 2 guests.

The ambiance is date-worthy AND family-friendly, although toddlers would best be left at home. Younger kids in carriers, or older children will be OK. There is something for everyone!

Worried about losing out on service or quality because you are *not* Star Quality? Don't worry! Valet parking for all, friendly staff, and a genuine feel for their patrons make The Palm a great place!

My family and I recently visited The Palm and I don't think that we will return anytime soon. The New York Strip was sent back twice as it was not cooked properly and some of us never got all side dishes that were ordered. The Strip was also overly fat for a steak of this kind.Price wise I feel that the price was rather excessive for the quality of the food.
