We took our cat Barda to the Hermitage Value Vet where we met Dr. Buford. She took great care in caring for Barda after her dog attack and even went to the effort of provding the finest care we have ever seen at any vet. We spent $200 over the course of five visits and gave superb care to our wounded darling. We visited her at the Hermitage and Nolensville road locations and she took the time to work with us and our financial needs. Neeless to she's tops and Value is our first and only stop for all our four legged children!

I visited the Bellevue Value Vet today out of desperation. My regular vet was out of town & VV is convenient to where I live. Upfront payment requirements were not divulged until the very end of the $29 exam, which I paid. A customer should never be led through the sales process without being given clear payment policy parameters.
Dr. French was fine; she confirmed my cat did not have a blockage. After her 5 minute overview, she went outside to create an action plan. Tech came in a while later to review the vet's recommendations (fluids, antibiotic, blood panel, steroid shot). She said the total would be $220 (+ or - a few $s). I explained I would not be able to pay the full amount for one day. Tech replied, "This is like WalMart where you shop & should expect to pay the full amount at checkout."
Interesting. Animal care and WalMart seem like quite different "animals." Excuse the pun.
I politely asked tech to make an exception. She told me to come back when I have the money. We started to leave. Tech said she would call her manager.
We waited a while. Tech returned to say her manager was on the line. FYI, Value Vet is comprised of one large room with a few exam rooms on the periphery. Conceivably, multiple procedures occur simultaneously. The phone is in the middle of the large room.
Manager asked if I could do ANYTHING to get the money. I detailed my explanation about the payment. She recommended that I apply for CareCredit to cover the expense. I replied that I stay away from credit. She said there was nothing she could do. And then: Think about WalMart or the grocery store. You dont go there, put groceries in your cart, & then not pay at the register, now do you?
I told her I would not pursue doing business with VV, that I would take my baby to one of the excellent independent vets that I know in the Nashville area. These independent vets are people who understand the importance of relationships, trust and community. The west side of Nashville is BUILT on these things.
I felt temporarily demeaned but angry. The animal care business is competitive. If I were a vet attempting to establish myself in a community of deep roots, I would not set myself apart by indoctrinating The WalMart Analogy Mantra.
Hopefully. Value Vet's customers will take their business to vets of integrity - where customers are approached with genuine kindness and grace as friends.

There are 3 vets in Bellevue, but I drive to Nolensville Rd for "furbaby" care. Very professional, caring, well-trained staff, INSISTED on giving me a thorough facility tour. LIKE for you to be involved in decisions, welcome viewing of surgeries, & WAY better prices for things like having a growth removed/teeth cleaned.. Highly recommend and looking forward to new Bellevue office!

Everyone there is friendly. I was taken with Duke into an examining room. There was a nice flat screen TV. I was told I could put it on any channel I wanted to while I waited. The doctor came in and sit on the floor with Duke and examined him.
I was very pleased with everything and plan to make this the place Duke is taken in the future.

I have been using Value Vet since they opened. They are not only very reasonable, but caring and loving toward all my animals. They genuinely care and I have total confidence in their abilities to take care of my "babies"

I have taken my pet to Value Vet several times and found that their price is fair and reasonable. They took very good care of my pet's needs and my emotional needs. I would recommend Value Vet over any other vet clinic in Nashville. You are treated like a person and they really enjoy caring for animals.

Over the last couple of years, I have taken no less than 50 cats (pets and ferals) to Dr. Watts and both clinics (Nolensville Rd and Gallatin Pk locations) for exams, spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and more. They are loving, caring, professional and inexpensive. I will NOT take my pets to any other vet or clinic!
They have recently added a flat screen television to the lobby allowing customers a more pleasant experience while waiting. Fantastic employees, clean and colorful clinics are just some of the reasons this vet and clinics are SECOND TO NONE! You have to bring your pets here. NOBODY DOES IT BETTER!!

I love this clinic and all of the employees. The doctor is unbelievably nice and very easy to talk to. Dr. Watts makes the visit to the vet fun for my babies and me. This clinic provides quality service with a reasonible price. Finally a clinic listens to a pet owners needs.

I absolutely love this vet! I am a college student, so I don't really have a lot of extra cash on hand. The staff was absolutely wonderful, especially the vet. After the dr. did his intial exam, I was presented with a list of everything Dolly needed, which things were urgent, and a cost of all treatments. The staff worked with me to decide what I could afford.
PROS: great staff, budget friendly, great service
CONS: location was a little bit far for me to drive

Value Vet is a great place to get basic vet care at a good price. The clinic is clean, not fancy, but efficient. The staff is very helpful. The prices are some of the cheapest in town.
PROS: cheap prices
