I wish I could give this facility no stars. This facility is disgusting. The equipment is outdated and it is clear the owner does not care. You can try to express your concerns but there is no email or number you can call; you will have

I chose this gym because it had childcare and was closer than the YMCA. I loved the equipment and the pool, but the childcare was awful. Not only did they hire people who had no idea how to deal with children, the caretakers sat and chit-chatted while other kids hit and pushed my son to the point where he defended himself. Guess who got sent out that day? Not the original problem starter. I wouldn't even know about it if my daughter hadn't been there to see. They don't save the security video and you really don't get to dispute the childcare workers.
In addition, every time I brought my kids there, they got sick with something. We had strep three times and roseola another . That's not even going into the other colds and fevers that came with the membership. My kids were so sick from being there that I couldn't go most of the time.
I couldn't wait to cancel my membership, but you cannot cancel your membership without sending a certified letter a month in advance. Apparently, if you just tell them to cancel it, they can't handle it. They had so many problems that way, they had to have an OFFICIAL RECORD with a third party (USPS) of your cancellation letter.
Honestly, if you have no kids, this is probably a great gym. If you do beware. If you value their health and welfare, do not take them here.

To be fair the CAC is a nice club for the area, but there is definitely room for improvement. The real problem comes from the administrative side of the house. Being in a military town with people constantly on the move, they have perfected the system to milk as much money out of people as possible. I moved 600 miles away and canceling my membership was the last thing on my mind. I saw the charge come in the next month and called to cancel. They informed me that they cannot cancel over the phone and I need to come in or talk to someone during normal business hours (this was later in the evening). I called the following day and they informed me that I had to send a letter giving 30 days notice and requesting the cancelation. I did so and again a charge came out of my account. I called back and was informed that they still renew the subscription for the following month after the cancelation, so I waited. The following month I was charged again. This time I talked to a director and was informed that they never receieved a letter and that I must send it certified (sounds like an easy way to get another month of someone). Probably could have made that clear the first time. Needless to say I am over $200 in the hole and still paying dues for a gym that is 600 miles away. They were so kinda as to wave next months fee if they get the letter in the next 7 days. If your looking for a place to work out, the CAC will meet your needs (if you can find parking). Just beware if your orders come in. Cancel immediately and then follow up multiple times before you move otherwise you will be out of luck.

Moving from Boston and originally from CA, the Clarksville Athletic Club was a godsend in terms of quality of the facility, friendliness of staff, and endless ways I could workout there. I've never been to a gym with: free-weights, weight machines, NEW and GREEN cardio machines with individual TVs, a cinematic cardio room (you can "go to the movies" without feeling like a slug for sitting and eating for two hours), an indoor lap and recreational pool, as well as an outdoor pool, jungle-gym, sauna, whirlpool, showers, changing rooms, racket ball courts, group fitness area, and a bar! Only drawback to the Clarksville Athletic Club is how it's spoiled me, and what a disappointment any other gym will be when the Army moves us again. The membership fees are very reasonable, the childcare is above par and is included in the membership (!), as are the group fitness classes. Can even go there for a beer or to read or watch sports in the lounge and bar area. BEST GYM EVER! -Mrs Murphy

I recently joined Clarksville Athletic Club primarlily for aerobics classes, but also found out that personal training is free. This is so great, I have so many goals to reach and I can have the best of both worlds, private trainng and with a group. I am so excited and can't wait to get to work, I meet with my trainer tomorrow.

Went there to find out the price (for those of you who don't know its 75.00/month for a family of four for a year) 65.00 for 2 year contract. The facility looked awesome and was not very busy. I will probably get a contract there because National Fitness is just as expensive with not nearly as much as this place had.

My husband and I went to check out CAC last night with some friends that are members. We were already planning on joining until we got there and saw how dirty and run down the facility looked. The bathroom stall floors in the women's locker room were so dirty you could see actual dirt build up and dead bugs that had dust on them. The cardio machines had dirt all over the foot pedals and the most machines were very outdated and run down. The furniture in the lobby and outside the racquetball courts was very used and torn. I do not want to work out in filth.

The Clarksville Athletic Club is a great facility. I am in the military and have been a member of numerous clubs across the nation and CAC has, by far, been one of my favorite. The prices were reasonable and their cancellation policy was fair. I have been to other health clubs, if I were to move, that will just transfer my membership to another club they are "affiliated" with whether you like it or not. The equipment there is great and they have plenty of programs for the my family. By the way, the cardio cinema is AMAZING!

Like a previous rater said, I was in the area and I stopped in to inquire about the membership prices. When I asked the young lady at the front desk about it, she snickered like I was a lower life form and just walked away to get, what I presume, was a "manager." He shuffled me in the back room and was very patronizing when he discussed the pricing. Needless to say, these employees need some serious customer service skills and they drove away a potential customer by their attitude. Obviously, this place is such that if you ask how much it costs, then you cannot afford it. Stay away if you despise being treated like crap when you ask a simple question like the price.

Let see, I take kickboxing, pilates, cardio pump, strength training and probably my favorite ballet boot camp. I come to CAC almost everyday of the week, and most times twice a day. My friend just asked me today what was the best time to workout there. I did not have an answer because I have never had a problem getting a machine or doing what I need to do. I simply told her any time is great. They are continually introducing new classes. In addition to the above mention classes I have also taken their ROC-IT class. It costs additional money (the only class that does) but it is well worth it. It gives you a more of a personal trainer type experience since the class size is so small, only 8 people. I am an avid raquetball player as well and there is no where else you can go within a 50 mile radius that has better courts or competition. Everyone comes to CAC to play. They also give free lessons to children and adults. Which is great because we are always looking for more people to play with and they are free. Try to get that anywhere else. They also upgraded the womens showers. We now have the rain fall showers and they are awesome. I really have no complaints with CAC.

We have been members of the Clarksville Athletic Club for over ten years. During this time with a family of five we had the opportunity to use all the exceptional services of CAC. This includes the racquetball courts, the weight rooms, the two pools, the jacuzzi, the state of the art machines with individual television and electronic capabilities as well as: Step classes, Yoga, Pilate's and Kick Boxing. As you can tell by this list there is something for everyone at CAC. The staff is friendly and helpful, the hours are great and the Clarksville Athletic Club is always clean. As a retired military family, fitness has been our passion and we have been members of clubs all over the world, CAC is the most well rounded and we value this club and all that they offer to our community.

I joined Clarksville Athletic Club almost 3 years ago. I choose them because they had the most to offer. They are the only club in town with both an outdoor and heated indoor pool. The outdoor pool has a great sun deck and kiddie pool. The club itself has tons of choices for cardio machine and a huge weight room. I can always get a machine. The staff and members are friendly and supportive of each other. It is small enough to make you feel welcome and large enough to not feel crowded.

We just moved to town from Arizona and I can't believe that all this is included for such a small price! We paid more than this for each of us for far less in Phoenix. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the pool is great! This is also the first place that I've belonged (and I've been quite a few places!) that didn't make you pay extra for aerobics or kid's classes. I hope we can stay in Clarksville for a long time :-)

I just recently joined the gym and I am a little overweight and felt somewhat intimidated before I went in to look around because I thought that everyone would look like Barbie & Ken dolls and be staring at me. But when I walked in, I was greeted with a smiling, friendly and outgoing person at the desk. Right awy as we were looking around, I felt at ease and very comfortable. She told me about their trainers that could help me out to reach my goals which I was excited about. The place was clean and inviting and I really felt at ease. I would recommend this place to anyone that has ever felt intimidated about walking into a gym!

I have been a member of the Clarksville Athletic Club for 8 years and have only experienced quality service from them. They continue to add new equipment every couple of months, the other reviewer that said they had to wait for equipment has obviously not been there in a long time they have a couple 100 different pieces of equipment that you can get on. The staff have only been courteous and respectful. My kids loving going to the kids classes, and I love that I don't have to pay any extra for them. They took them trick or treating around the club at Halloween and caroling in the club at Christmas, they were so cute. I can also take them to the nursery or swimming. They have a baby pool that my kids love!! Well worth every penny!!

My husband and I were members of the CAC for a year. The establishment was clean and the equipment was nice, although in the evenings it was quite busy and there was usually a wait to use most of it. I decided not to renew my membership at the end of my year due to the fact that we were moving out of state soon after. I was under the assumption that unless I requested to have my membership renewed that the contract would end at the end of our year. Well, this is not so. The payment was drafted once again from my bank account. Seeing that we had obviously paid for another month, my husband decided to go in to workout. The employee at the desk told him he was not permitted to enter because our membership had expired. Confused, my husband came home and we double-checked out bank statement and our payment had indeed been deducted from our account. I call the next day to explain this to the manager and she explained that until we come in and request, in writing, a 30 day notice to end our contract that we will continue to pay. Absurd, considering my husband was not allowed to workout the night before!! So, my husband goes in to fill out a cancellation form and what happens?! We are once again charged the month after!! I call, AGAIN, to speak with the manager and she says she has no record of my husband filling any cancellation form out and basically calls me a liar!! She rudely tells me there is nothing she can do and we need to fill out another cancellation form and that she WILL NOT refund our money. I tell her I want to speak to her boss and she says she will have him call me. I never receive a call and when I call back to speak to her, she has her other employees lie to me and say she isn't there or she is busy. I will tell everyone I know to never step one foot in their establishment!! The staff at the CAC are in serious need of training on customer satisfaction and on basic people skills. This is not how you treat your customers!!

I called simply to ask the monthly membership cost. I was put on hold 4 times for extended periods. I would hang up call back just to be put on hold again. After explaining this to the young lady who answers the phone. She told me there are many different prices. I told her I'm sure I didn't qualify for any discounts. I have a family of three. Just please give me a price. On and on it went. They need me to come in to see what I would be paying for she said. I have been to many health facilities I know what to expect just give me a PRICE!!!!! It's a 20minute drive at 2.70 a gallon just to get a stinking price!!!!!!!The cost is not a problem I just wanted to know how much it is.

I used to be a member and I have to say that the price was a little high. I've been to better gyms, however, Clarksville doesn't have many decent gyms in this town. I had a personal trainer who has very supportive and friendly. The daycare didn't seem to want to watch my son since they had so many in the daycare already. That was a waste of a trip out there.
