This is a great and safe environment to take your kids. The Nashville Aquatic Club practices here along with other high school swim teams. It is family friendly and a great place for people of all ages.

There are many different programs to sign up for ranging from swim lessons to water aerobics. There are usually lanes open for people to swim laps as they please. The pool is a little cold but once you start swimming everything is fine. There are diving boards where dive teams practice. The pool is able to divide into two different lap pool, one large lap pool, or an Olympic sized pool. there is also a pool that is heated for children and people who are looking for a relaxing swim.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Pros: Convenient, no wait for equipment, not intimidating

Cons: Needs some upgrading, better orientation system, not open on Sundays

The Centennial Sportsplex is mainly known for the ice skating rink. This is where the children have their hockey games and lessons and also where the Predators practice. They also offer ice skating lessons with open rink times for family and friends to have fun skating. The Sportsplex also has a full club and gym and tennis courts. You can easily become a member or just pay the usage fee. There is plenty of parking.

This is a great place for kids and adults. They have Ice skating for the public and offer teams and classes, they have indoor diving and swimming and offer teams and classes, and have all other health club type stuff. Indoor/outdoor tennis, aerobics, weight room, and everything else you could think of. The facilites are clean and well maintained. You can get a day use pass or a membership. It is definately one of the nicest places in Nashville to excercise.

I love the ice skating rink and the pool! It is a wonderful place to take the family on the weekend. I especially like that in the winter, when there is not a ton of physical activities to involve the kids, there is a great big ice skating arena to take them to! They love to skate there, and I love it because it wears them out and they are asleep for the rest of the night. Great place, great prices.

Facilities are always clean and anyone can drop in. There is always something going on at Centennial--college games and high school meets. If you are set on doing something specific (swimming, ice skating) you may want to call ahead to see if there are previous reservations. Fair prices, good family fun.

The nice thing about the Sportsplex is their drop-in policy; anyone can use the facility at any time for a small fee. Memberships are available too, from one month to one year in length. Note: extra fees apply to indoor tennis courts.

I love Centennial Park...the Parthenon alone makes it worth the trip every time. I just wish people would stop the incessant littering.

With the lake where you can feed the ducks, and the vintage plane and train, Centennial Park is like Nashville's Central Park. Go on a Saturday early afternoon. Sometimes there are people "cruisen" and the litter dont really match the ducks in the lake. But overall the parks ROCKS and its nice to take a date to eat a picnic lunch. They have alot of activities at the park too. But only every now and then...

I must say that I have adored Centennial Park ever since the first time I laid eyes on it. I get a sense of peace whenever I'm near it. It is such a beautiful Park, that I have actually witnessed wedding ceremonies take place there. Its a great place for a walk, picnic and pictures. Be sure to check out the Parthenon while your there. That will really make you trip a two in one treat.
