I would recommend Dr.Kim Poyner and her staff to everyone..we have been going to Spring Hill Vet for years and have had nothing but the best care...Dr. Poyner cares more for our pets than our doctors care for us...there are times she calls just to check on the well being of a sick kitty....no matter how late in the day....she is nothing but caring and compassionate when it comes to our animals...and thanks to Brenda [receptionist] for always doing the best she can to help us when we call with another kitty in need...You all are the best !!!! Thanks for all you do !!!!!!

We have been going to this clinic for 7 years. In the past, I have been ok with the veterinarian. The receptionist has always been very rude but I tried to get past that. Today, my dog was acting strangely, obviously needing the care of his veterinarian, so I called to see if they could see him. The receptionist said that they are too full to see him. She said I was welcome to "drop him off and maybe she could look at him between clients" but I told her no, he is sick and the last thing I need to do to him right now is to "drop him off". How uncaring to a loyal client. I called another veterinarian and they got him in within 3 hours. I guess the receptionist there finally did run us off, indeed, as she has apparently done with several before me!

I have been taking my dogs to this place for about 13 yrs. The vet is very knowledgable and has always treated us and our pets with respect. The last two years we have had financial problems and my lab ended up getting a UTI. I took her in for a checkup (shots) along with a urine sample. They did not do the shots due to her being placed on antibiotics. I had to take another sample 1 1/2 wks later to make sure it was clear and then they were going to do the shots and wave the office fee since I paid it at the first visit. I dropped the urine off and never heard from them to make sure my pet was free of the UTI. So...now I have to pay the office fee again for her to have her shots...! My opinion is: if you are a previous customer/pt I think they should consider letting you pay a deposit and then set up a payment plan. That's how we do it where I work and I work in healthcare...!

I liked the vet and her assistants, but the receptionist is the reason I changed vets.

I've been visiting this Veterinarian Clinic for over ten years. The staff and the Doctor are wonderful. If you have an emergency they work you in, even if it means having to drop your pet off early and pick them up later. If for some reason they can't they will send you somewhere to take care of an emergency. Get to know them, and you find that they speak "animal", and that's important. The ill comments about the "receptionist" (who is much more than that) seem to be spoken from people who are ill-equipped to take care of their pets (financially). I would recommend Spring Hill Veterinary Clinic to any and everyone.

My family and I are sad and devastated. We took our little mixed breed puppy in to Spring Hill Vet Clinic at 6 weeks old for her first visit. From that point forward she was taken in 4 more times for routine vaccinations and physical exams. At 5 1/2 months we took her in to be spayed. I was worried about how she was having some breathing problems (thought she had allergies), and ordered bloodwork prior to her spay just to be on the safe side. We were assured each time she was seen that she was in perfect health.
Last weekend we had to take our now 7 month old puppy in for emergency treatment for breathing problems, where the vet in 5 minutes time, just by listening to her heart with a stethoscope, determined our dog had a terrible heart murmur. Turns out after being seen by a specialists she has a PDA which is a congenital heart defect which should have been diagnosed in the first couple of visits, or at the very least, at her spaying just a little over a month prior to this, and was not. The vet's explanation to me....."Well, I don't know, I can't explain it". The emergency vet said we were very lucky that our dog even made it through her spaying with the shape her heart was in. Meanwhile our family is devastated and heartbroken with having to decide what to do now that we are facing a $3000 surgery or putting our beloved puppy down.

I've been taking my dogs to Spring Hill Vet Clinic since 2000. Dr Poynor and the staff are great. They have always fit us into their busy schedule for those last minute unplanned visits. When I had to put my beagle down (in 08) and my pointer down (just recently), the staff cried along with me. They definitely care about your pet(s)!! Needless to say, I'm taking my new puppy to them.

We think the world of Dr. Kim Poyner, but I have to agree with the other comments regarding the RUDE staff! I know several people who changed vet clinics because of the rude, b****y receptionist, including my brother-in-law (they have 6 pets and would have been good customers).

this place was AWEFUL! Our puppy was sick, so we took him in to them. the vet insisted on a parvo test, but he had just had one 3 days before and it was negative so i refused the test. then the vet said, "ill take him in the back, and pump him with fluids and we can send him home after that." well, she came back with a parvo test she did ON HER OWN, without my consent, and it was positive. she insisted that we couldnt take the puppy home, and we couldnt do payments or have the money required to keeping him alive. she kept pressing that we put him down, so we did. the bill? $178.00. the parvo test and stuff was 80 of that. she did that test on her own will, after i told her not to! she was really sneaky about it and i think she only pressed us to put him down because she wanted her money. ive had 4 other pups get parvo and my new vet just gives em meds, and 4 days later theyve all been fine. i hated that place, and that vet. she was highly unsensative, even when we had to put the pup down. she just took him and we hardly got to say goodbye...

The receptionist needs to find a new job where she need not speak to people that need to have a kind and CARING person on the other line!!!! She has got to be related to someone here because no vet office would have someone so cold at the front!! She has been there for a while now. Every time I have delt with this place she is the same old crabby patty she was the last time!!!

The vets are nice but the receptionist is absolutely horrible..... She should not be working there at all. Her people skills are zero.

It must be that she is a relative of one of the vets because in any other business she would have been fired the first time she was rude, thoughtless and insensitive to the customer. In the case the pet owners who pay her salary.

The vets aren't that good to excuse the bad behavior of an employee .

I have been going to Spring Hill Vet for 8 years. When we had to put our beloved beagle Rusty down in February they were amazing. Very loving and both Kim and the assistant cried with us. That meant alot to me. We just got two puppies and I was not hesitant at all in taking them the clinic. I have never had anything but good care from them.

We have been using Dr. Kim Poyner for 2 years and just love her and her vet techs. They are BUSY, but will work your dig in for an emergency if it is an established patient. The receptionist is rude but I just smile and kill her with kindness!

I have had the most unpleasant conversation with the B**** that answered the phone when I called last week. Her name was Brenda and she was just a smart ass person on the phone. Would not even listen to me as I asked her a question. I will never ever go to this clinic just based on her responses to me.

The vets seems very nice but apparently understaffed. I used them for years for healthy pet visits but when my pet had an ear infection they told me it would take 3 days to get in to see the vet. I assumed when I had called in the past and it took 3 days to get annual shots that was acceptable but when my pet is sick and needs to be seen 3 days is not an acceptable wait time. Called another vet and was able to be seen within hours. Have not been back to this vet.

I have used this veterinary clinic for over a year. I've never had a problem with them until today. I guess the reason I haven't had a problem in all of this time is because my previous dog was always in good health. I rescued my newest dog from a shelter, he is older and is need of some work to get him to great health. He has been scratching for a while now. Losing some hair in some spots and thinning in others. My daughter discovered this morning that he was bleeding in two places. Financially I couldn't do anything for another week. I thought that a veterinary clinic would be more than willing to help me out in my my dogs time of need. I explained the situation to the lady that answered the phone. She told me in a firm tone that they do NOT accept payments. I told her that I guess my dog will have to suffer for another week then. She said OK then. I understand that every business has rules and regulations. I just assumed that a place that saves animals and a place that expects animal owners to take great care of their pets could help me out in some way. At least seem interested in my situation and give me a recommendation of what to do or who I might be able to call.

Thus far I have had no problems with them and thier service.
They are very friendly and have 2 Vets on staff as well as many Vet techs.
They also participate with the Columbia State Training program for Vet techs in school.

They do not board or groom though which is a con.

Vet charged an emergency vet visit during normal office hours because we didn't have a scheduled appointment. We had been to the vet two other times and thought that it was unfair to charge higher vet visit fees because our dog got sick that day and needed medication.

We will be moving our business to another vet in town.
