Mr. and Ms. Moss are very patient and just excellent teachers with many, many years of teaching experience.
I've seen them turn several students with bad grades into straight a students with the discipline they require to be a part of their school.Besides that,Mr. Moss teaches very practical techniques that can save your life on the streets.I know his training saved me when I was blind sided from out of my periphial vision in the head with a brick.I dropped that guy like a wet towel and he was obviously trying to inflict major damage.I can't possibly say enough about him ,or, Ms. Moss here.It takes time to really know what someone is about.I hardly think 2 classes would be sufficient to pass judgement on a true Master of the arts he teaches. That is where u messed up.I know many of the teachers in Nashville and surrounding areas and to me his school was the ultimate. We forget that Masters of Martial Arts are human too and also we sometimes don't understand what they must go through to have so many students
looking up to them and expecting more then human abilities from them.Moss Tae Kwon Do is an excellent place for a child or adult to learn discipline, respect for yourself and other people and very awesome martial arts. There is so much more then meets the eye and if a martial arts school doesn't smell like sweaty boxing gloves etc..then I know it is a brand new school,or,one that doesn't teach the way that I know for a fact is the best way to learn.Thank you sooo much Mr. Moss!!!!
Oh,and about the bathroom-there has always been seperate dressing rooms and a bathroom.Sounds like you could learn quite a bit at the school your self!Geez,I remember so many other teachers coming there to train.Anyway,I could go on and on ,but,I'll stop here for now. Thanks again Mr.and Ms. Moss.I'll try to see you when I am in town again!I cannot believe the words this "citysearch" says is innappropriate.Messing up my letter.

Pros: A very well rounded program teaching many disciplines.

Cons: None !

Awesome school! They offer Tae Kwon Do and Cardio Kickboxing. You can go to as many classes as you want. There are adult classes and kids classes which I like. The place is run by Ron and Lori Moss, a married couple, and they have been in this business for 23+ yrs so they know what they're doing. I like them both, they are very friendly and give me encouragement when I need it, but at the same time they push me also. I highly recommend this school.

MY WIFE AND I JOINED MOSS TAEKWONDO 6 MONTHS AGO WE LOST SEVERAL POUNDS AND MY DR HAS STOPPED CHEWING ME OUT. SOMETIMES WE GO IN EARLY TO WATCH THE CHILDREN WORK OUT FROM THE GLASSED IN VIEWING AREA. WE CAN SEE THEM BUT THEY CANT SEE US. THEY HAVE SEVERAL BLACK BELT INSTRUCTORS CAREFULLY WATCHING OVER THEM AND TEACHING THEM. WHAT A GREAT PLACE TO STAY FIT AND LEARN SELF DEFENSE , FOR THE YOUNG AND OLD ( I';M 52 MY WIFE WONT LET ME TELL HER AGE). RON AND LORI ARE WONDERFUL INDIVIDUALS. WARM CARING AND TAKE TIME TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS I MIGHT HAVE. I WAS A LITTLE NERVOUS ABOUT SPARRING AT FIRST BUT WITH THE SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND THE MOSS'S CAREFULLY WATCHING OVER ITS SAFER THAN MOST SPORTS

My wife and I (both currently green-belts) have been attending classes at Moss Tae Kwon Do for over a year now, and I can't say enough good things about them. Classes are fun and a great way to get in shape (especially the Fitness Kickboxing class). The instruction is top-notch. The owners, Ron and Lori Moss, have a team of other black-belt instructors that work with us on perfecting forms and showing us new techniques, as well as ways to use the techniques we already know.

To me, the best part of learning Tae Kwon Do is learning the forms. Through forms you learn balance, power and how to tie various techniques together. We also learn "One Step Combos". These are essentially self defense techniques designed to show you how to protect yourself. Most people are a little nervous about the free-sparring aspect of martial arts, but I can tell you this: everything that goes on at Moss Tae Kwon do is as controlled, as safe and as family oriented as martial arts study could possibly be.

I'm not sure what the previous commenter meant when she said that the school didn't have restrooms. There's only one, but the classes are small enough that you never need more than that. I've also never noticed an odor. She's right about the fact that you get an instructional video, and most of the students use it to get an idea of what their newest form looks like before they come into class. You also get a manual explaining what's expected of you, what the Korean words used in class mean, and what Tae Kwon Do is all about. As far as Mr. Moss' ability to interact with children, all I can say is that he's been doing this for 20 years...I'd be slow to question his ability, and I will not hesitate to put my son in his class when he is old enough.

Pros: Great instruction. Kid's and adult classes throughout the week.

Cons: Fitness Kickboxing is HARD! (That's only a con for me. It's a great workout.)

I signed my son up for a two week trial & uniform for $19.95. I didn't expect much for that. It was a way of testing the school to see if I wanted my son to attend there. Well I found out that this included 4 classes (2 a week).
This school is run by Ron Moss & his wife. The first day there I noticed that there wasn't a restroom. Not that it's a big deal but I do have a problem with sending my elementary school age child two doors down to Dairy Queen to use the restroom. The other thing I noticed is that there was total chaos. He was more interested in the more advanced students and the white & yellow belts were disobedient. With that being said I contributed it to 5-7 year olds don't have the attention span that older kids do. I'll give it another try.
The second class was as bad. His dojang smelt like week old sweaty gym socks. eeeww....
Another child in the class kept picking with my child. Turning around and poking at him and so on. The instructor said absolutely nothing. I let that ride also for the time being.
We skipped the 3rd class and went to the 4th class. He spent 5 minutes of quality time with my son before calling me into his office. He gave me the sales pitch $120.00/month plus a free video to get him through his white - green belt forms. I must've given him a strange look because he told me he preferred they learn their forms at home.
The entire point of class is so that you can perfect your technique. I told him that I'd think about it and let him know. He looked irritated. He asked me if I was looking at another school? Huh? I told him I didn't know yet....but I might. Then he went on to bash the other schools in the area. What? With that he got up and walked out of the room. He is arrogant, rude, crude & a real tool. I'm glad that I didn't sign my child up for his classes! He is a piece of work that is not good with children!!!!!

Pros: I can't think of a single one!

Cons: Arrogant instructor, dojang too small, not enough classes, over priced!
