I live in Alabama, where all liquor has to be sold through the state owned distributor. Thus, there are some things I can't get at home. I recently went to Chattanooga for the day, and I went to several liquor stores- Riverside was the best. Prices were pretty similar to other places, but Riverside had the best selection: lots of Scotch, lots of gin (including jenever and old tom, not just london dry), Barbancourt 8 year old rum (from Haiti), and off beat items like creme de cassis, creme de violette, and amarula from South Africa. I didn't buy any wine, but there is a good selection of that too, and I'll probably buy some next time I'm there. This is my new go-to Tennessee liquor store!

I just went in yesterday and I was fairly impressed. Not only did they offer three different types of alcohol, but they had a good selection of kegs. They also had taps for the kegs they rent out, or for purchase for fifty dollars. The keg prices were very reasonable and I think its very cool to have access to a place that has a steady supply of filled kegs for those last minute parties. If you live in the down town area of chattanooga and you are in need of any specialty beers or if you need a keg for the next frat party keep this place in mind for sure. Peace guys

Ok, I love this place too. I actually live about 10-15 minutes from this place and have another liquor store right around the corner, but will go to this place every time for the service, the knowledge and the price.

The price is several dollars below other stores and all of the employees are knowledgeable. I went in at thanksgiving and was asking advice about wines and one of the guys opened a bottle so I could try before buying. Of course I bought 4 bottles that year!

The service really is great. They also now have a beer store with a zillion different kinds of beer.

Tennessee has some strange Liquor Laws that require that wine and liquor be sold separately from beer, and only in speciality stores. Riverside Beverage Company's solution is to have two separate stores on the same location, one for wine and liquor and one for beer.

The good news is that Riverside has the largest selection of beer, wine, and liquor in the downtown Chattanooga area. The bad news is, that they also have the highest prices. I do not normally purchase wine from this store due to the high prices. I do, occasionally purchase their beer due to the large selection. However, I normally purchase singles rather than 6 packs, since the average price is around $8.99 per six pack.

I do like the fact that Riverside Beverage Company offers one-stop shopping for beer, liquor, and wine. However, the prices are almost prohibitive. I patronize the store primarily for their large selection of specialty beers that range in price from $1.49-$1.89 per bottle.

The store appears to cater to an upscale clientel and the staff is not particularly friendly or outgoing. I prefer shopping at my neighborhood store, Vintage Wine & Spirits, due to their lower prices and more personal service

PROS: One-stop beverage shopping
CONS: High prices, impersonal service
