If your tired of all the other chains in the game and are looking for a new selection check out the Parthenon Grille. We had an excellent time and highly enjoyed the Rack of Lamb and the Mahi-Mahi. Their new location is beautiful and very modern. The wait isn't to long and the service is top-notch! Enjoy your evening!

Wow, we are heart broken -Parthenon has been a family favortie for over 25 years, special occasions, birthdays, anniversarys etc. You could always count on the quiet, peaceful environment, and ALWAYS count on the quality of the food. The new restaurant should not even be carrying the same name....loud, noisy , no quiet conversations going on in this restaurant, and atmosphere is a yuppie meat market. Had to send both our dinners back, one steak really overc ooked and one dish completely not as described on specials, waited over another 1/2 hour replacements. When the replacements came, still mediocre.. Very sad, farewell to the old Parthenon, we will miss you.

we WERE long time patrons of the OLD parthenon restaurant. we loved the atmosphere the piano, fireplace, linen table clothes..and a QUIET romantic atmosphere. we thought we'd try out the NEW parthenon grille. YUK!!!!!! what a horrid experience. first off we went into the bar to be seated and told them we didnt want to EAT in there we were going to have drinks until a table came open. well they came to seat us and they pointed to a table directly behind us in the bar!! DUHHHHHHHHHHH! if we wanted to eat in the bar we could have eaten at the table we already were at!! sheesh! then we were seated in the restaurant. got the menus and guess what? NO PRIME RIB!! my favorite. they had taken it off the menu and the waitress said they had had numerous complaints about it. so i thought ok ill order a shrimp cocktail at least i can have that. guess what? we were told by the waitress "sorry we r out of shrimp, it was mtsu's graduation and we were slammed" i thought and u all werent PREPARED for mtsus graduation? then we ordered a bottle of wine we didnt recieve and then finally asked about it and were told... "sorry they r behind in the bar" how long does it take to get a bottle of wine out and uncork it? its not like mixing a drink. no salt and pepper shakers on the table we had to get up and get them from another table. they didnt bring our bread with our meal.we had to ask for that. and it was cold and hard. plus we were JAMMED into a postage stamp sized table against the wall to add insult to injury. this place doesnt even RESEMBLE the old wondeful parthenon. plzzzzzzzzzz reopen the other place!! plus it was noisey we had to yell to even hear each other. warning to others do NOT go here!! go to the chop house!! it has a MUCH better atmosphere and they have prime rib there! it was my birthday on top of it all. needless to say we will NEVER patronize the parthenon ever again!!

Me and my nephews went in for lunch the other day and it was an absolute treat. I arrived early by myself so I went ahead got seated. The server greeted me right away. He was extremely kind and very knowledgeable of the wine list when I asked about the house wine. He also had the most gorgeous green eyes ;) ... Anyways, the menu was surprisingly cheap, so I expected small portions, but when I ordered the the club sandwich, it was 2 pretty good size sandwiches, plus it came with a side of sweet potato fries which were delicious. I will definitely be back for dinner with my husband very soon.

My husband and I went here 12 yrs ago for our rehersal dinner. It was wonderful. They just moved in their building across the street. We went on Wed.,3-10-2010. Our favorites they no longer have and the quality of what they do serve was terrible. No Parthenon King steak, no rasberry vinaigrette dressing. The new building is cold, dark and noisy. I hope they at least correct the food situation but wish they would open the old building back up with the warm fire place, wonderful piano and the peaceful atmosphere. We won't be back. We are heartbroken.

My husband decided to surprise me for our 10th wedding anniversary by taking me here for a romantic dinner. It was wonderful! The pianist was playing, white table linens and candles filled the room, and the smell of food was to die for! Our table had been set up with roses my husband brought earlier and the server brought us our special bottle of wine right away. Our server was absolutely darling, a very cute blonde who knew exactly how to take care of us. She recommended an appetizer and meals to go with our wine as well as some homemade creme brulle to send us off with! I recommend this place for everyone! I will definately be going again and again and again- even for just a Tuesday night dinner!

My experience at The Parthenon Restaurant was supurb! To start, the hostess helped us get the perfect table for us to sit, then she was very knowledgeable of the menu and told us everything we asked. The server that we had was excellent, he knew what he was doing and he made our experience that much better! And the food, let me say, was great; from the soup and salad, to the entree, and the dessert was amazing. We had a great time because the atmosphere was just perfect for a night out! I definitely would reccomend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great place to eat.

Pros: Great Service & A++ Food

Cons: None

.

Went there with two couples. The atmosphere was terrible and our waitress was rude. It took an hour to get our entrees and we ended up sending some back. The food was overcooked and the presentation was terrible. Even after we sent food back no manager appeared to talk to us. I guess they really don't care about their customers. Overpriced as well. I wrote a letter of complaint to the owner. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Pros: Decent Wine Selection

Cons: Service, Food, Atmosphere

.

Their steak is really good. Most places in the area overcook steak. I had a NY Strip, and it was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I also had salmon the next time, and it was great. They have an excellent selection of wine and appetizers.

They are a bit pricey, but not overly so I guess. For two people, we usually spend about $75 for dinner, and app, and one drink each. That's on the border of too much for a normal dinner, but we like it every once in a while. They do have coupons in the local guide, though. That's a plus.

The atmosphere is so outdated. It looks like my aunt's condo in Boca or something. However, they are building a new one...so you can't hold that against them.

I like how there's not a lot of familes there. You can hear eachother and the piano.

I have been to the parthenon four times, yet might I add I am still in my young adult years, I pick apart restaurants just as a food critic would, considering my dad is a graduate of a top culinary school. Parthenon is BY FAR one of the best restaurants in Murfreesboro, and Middle tennessee. My boyfriend always orders the steak and I cannot believe how perfectly done it is. I usually order the salmon caesar salad which is to die for. I crave it constantly. Their parthenon dip is amazing, along with several of their other appetizers. I went to red robin for my birthday and my parents spent more there then they would've at the parthenon. I regret not going here for my birthday. Which should hint to you thie prices are great for what you get. HUGE PORTIONS. It is a fabulous place for specail occasions and dates. I've been for prom, christmas eve, and date night. It has always been wonderful. Whoever can say this restaurant is not good is crazy, I think you should go here as soon as possible. I promise you wont be dissapointed!

Cons: the outside of the building is VERY descieving.

My husband and I absolutely love this place. We go for all of our special dates. They even send us gift certificates when it gets close to our birthdays & anniversary. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The owner has came to check on us everytime we have eaten there. The food is great. Our favorite is the Cajun, blackened Prime Rib & Ribeye but we haven't tried anything that wasn't good. The atmosphere is very relaxed. This isn't a place that you would want to take smaller children though. It's more for adults to enjoy talking to each other over a glass of wine.

Dont let the outside fool you, this is a very nice restaurant. The food is awesome and the service is fantastic, the piano is a nice touch also. I had the new york strip, very nice, and my wife had the spagehtti. You get a large salad to start with, which is a meal in itself. It was my birthday,so they gave me a free dessert some kind of key lime cheesecake pie which was very good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, deffinetly great for an anniversary or romantic dinner.

I read the reviews on here prior to going my first time and didn't expect much. BOY WERE SOME OF YOU WRONG! The food was excellent - priced about the same as a trip to Outback... A mix of Greek, Italian & Mediterranian flavors from what I could tell. Excellent Wine Selection. The service was great - even the owner came to check on us. Okay - so it's not full of "5-star" decorations but they aren't passing that cost on to you either... Eating out costs money - realize that first and you won't be disappointed.

We were seated within 1 minute. My salad was an excellent Caesar - how can you mess that up? My wife had the Prime Rib and raved about it - I had the New York Strip which was AWESOME.

My advice - make your own opinion and don't take any of our's seriously...

Cons: Average Decor

I love Greek food!!!! So, when I moved to Murfreesboro, the obvious place to get Greek food in my opinion would be the Parthenon Steak House. I was wrong. There were hardly any genuine Greek items on the menu. I felt like I went to Demos' mixed with some Italian food. The good thing is, from growing up Southern, I love sweet tea. The Parthenon has pretty good sweet tea.

I appreciate the Parthenon not only for the steaks, but also their Med. influence cuisine. The saganaki and spanokopita are excellent, and the Veal Diane and Oscar are mouth watering.

On nights when there is Musaka, the restaurant is truly inspired. The baklava is filling without being heavy.

This restaurant was a consistent disappointment to my husband and I every time we dined there. We found the food to be average but the service, decor and location dreadful. We made half a dozen visits and spent around $70-$160 on each visit only to leave each time saying wed never return. Our last visit was truly our last when after again waiting over 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge we had been seated and yet again watching tables seated after us being approached and drink orders taken and delivered did we approach a manager to inform them of the situation. To our surprise the manager we tried to relay our concerns to was unconcerned and conveyed to us no sense of customer awareness.

They have the best prime rib, and with the side of mushrooms--it's the most wonderful meal. Save room for appetizers and desserts. I recommend the Parthenon dip when available. You can also tell they spend quality time making their desserts. Try the tiramisu and cheesecakes. Phenomenal!!!
Not only is the food great, but the atomosphere as well. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and when the piano man is in, it's fun. GO! You won't be sorry.
