I am a Ripley's Aquarium nut! I could go in when they open and be happy to stay until they close. I go through the shark area over and over again and it is so cool if you actually get a ray close enough to be able to touch it. This is great for the family and it's worth the price. Go, go, go! You will not be disappointed.

I am STILL blown away by this aquarium. Nothing I've ever seen has topped it. Yes it looks bigger on the outside than it does on the inside, but who cares. You have to figure in that they need hidden areas for sick animals, and for staff etc. Who cares about admission price? Gatlinburg is a very expensive tourist trap, just go along with it, and expect to get ripped off everywhere.
Back to the aquarium - They have some really amazing fish in here, and the tunnel with convayer belt makes for a fantastic experience. You can see one spot in the tunnel where a guest upset a shark, and the shark attacked the wall of the tunnel, leaving huge marks on the acrylic.
Expect to spend about 2-3 hours here, watching fish etc. The jellyfish exhibit was probably my favorite part, it's so peaceful and hypnotic...I could have spent all day there.

Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies is an affordable adventure for the entire family. Regardless of your age, you will learn something on your visit. And, they offer a money back guarantee--if you aren't satisfied, you will get a refund on your admission price.
There are hands-on activities, a children's area, and demonstrations and discussions throughout the day. Hours are convenient, too. Often, the aquarium is open until midnight.

From the outside this place looks huge. From the inside, you realize that looks can be deceiving. There was little room to walk around and the crowds of people made it seem even smaller. The price was too high for the experience but my kids seemed to enjoy it. They have a pool with turtles, stingrays etc that you can reach down and pet but there were so many people crowding it that we didn't even get close.

We were really impressed with this aquarium. The opportunity to walk under the sharks was pretty neat. We have taken our grandchildren and look forward to going again. It is kind of pricy for a full family but well worth it at least once. There are occasional discount days if you shop around.

I have been to a number of aquariums and this has to be one of the best there is. It has so much for kids and adults to do. They are lots of fish, sharks, rays of all kinds. They moving tunnel is trully stunning. Moving through a tunnel wtih sharks and stingsrays and fish all around you. You can touch a sting ray, hold a crab and watch dive shows.

They are open from 9-8pm except Fri and Sat when they are open until 10pm so oyu have plenty of time to look around.

PROS: Interactive Exhibits, Moving Tunnel, Dive Shows, Long Hours, Neat and Clean
CONS:

Ripley's Aquarium is wonderful for "kids" of all ages! It is well kept and has lots of interest for most anyone. From their "hands on" areas for children to their under water tunnel and more! It is a bit in the pricey range (especially for those with more than just the "normal" sized family as we are), but well worth it for that occasional visit. The kids loved it, as did we. We did get lost a few times, however, found our way out pretty easily, although we still aren't sure if we saw the entire thing.

PROS: quality family entertainment, clean
CONS: pricey

This aquarium is really incredible. They have it where you walk under the shark tank. That is a pretty neat experience for all. Rather pricy but well worth the ticket price. It is located near many other attractions and is easily accessible. Pretty huge display of fish and other animals in the water.

We went here a little bit back and it was awesome! I enjoyed it so much and can't wait to get back there. The kids loved it and we took tons of pictures. I really enjoyed walking through the part where the aquarium is above you, that tunnel thing. I can't remember what they called it. It was actually relaxing looking at all the water and fish. I did think the restuarant cafe thing was pretty expensive. And I do think the tickets for the aquarium are kind of pricey but it was practically a whole day there so I guess it's not too bac. I want to go back asap. I loved the little gift shop also. And while some things were expensive in the shop, you could easily find little souvineirs that were very inexpensive. The kids loved it. Great for families!

On one of our trips to Smoky Mountains we decided to go into the Ripley's Aquarium on a night when it was raining. It is a nice place, although not as nice as the Newport Aquarium in Ohio. It has a long tunnel with fish and sharks swimming around, which was fun to walk through. The tunnel did smell a bit on the day we were there. My kids liked the discovery center and touch a ray bay. They have a beautiful waterfall inside the Tropical Forest. There are two restaurants, but we did not eat at either one. Prices were reasonable. It was not very crowed on the night we were there. This is a fun and educational place to take your family.

The always have different events such as Titanic, pirates, etc. Very educational and wonderful for kids and families! Prices are great and a coupon is bound to be floating around somewhere in town! Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies is definitely an experience! It is not as big on the inside as it seems from the outside, but there is still lots to see for the money. It's a nice aquarium to visit once, but I do not think that I will go again as it is not worth the high ticket cost to go more than once.

Ripley's Aquarium is a really cool place for anyone of any age. We enjoyed it a great deal, as did our 3 year old neice. She could even pet a stingray and a horseshoe crab! We had a great time here. The price is really good, too. They also offer great discounts for groups and military.

Ripleys Aquarium, located in Gatlinburg, houses the worlds longest aquarium tunnel. This tunnel has 8,000 exotic fish. Other exhibits include the tropical rain forest, a coral reef, a shark lagoon, a discovery center, and more. Its a fun aquarium for people of all ages. There is a casual restaurant and a formal restaurant within Ripleys Aquarium. They provide guided tours and programs for class field trips.

We went here during our stay in Gatlinburg recently. The kids had so much as did the adults. It is very interesting. Especially the tunnel where you can see the sharks basically swimming over your head. There is an area where you can touch a sting ray! The gift shop is really nice also but a little pricey. Tickets run somewhere around $20 for an adult, but we did one of those time share presentations and got free tickets! But the experience would've still been worth it for $20! They have an area where the kids and adults can take a "hands on" learning experience. They also have a food court in there. While we were there we took the chance to see one of their Dive Shows which was quite interesting. The guy that was doing the talking was very interesting and humorous!

We went here in June '05. The outside & inside areas are beautiful! Clean, easy pathways to see all the fish. Kids will love the play area also, and trying to touch various water creatures. Well worth the price!

One of the best aquariums I've seen! Kids and adults will love the sharks as they swim right over your head in a walk-through aquarium. I also liked the stingray park - you can pet them as they swim by! It's very educational and exciting. Enjoy!

This place has it all! Featured exhibits include the Tropical Rain Forest where you can view all sorts of tropical forestation and wildlife. The Coral Reef where you can view various types of Coral and salt water fish. Shark Lagoon allows you to get up close and personal (as close as possible without actually touching a shark) to see how sharks react and live in their natural habitat. A Discovery Center full of educational factoids and displays for kids of all ages. The Gallery of the Seas where you can encounter all sorts of odd looking oceanlife. One of the favored attractions is of course the Touch-A-Ray-Bay where you can interact and actually touch a MantaRay (wow!).

PROS: The price is affordable, esp. with the massive amount there is to do there.
CONS:
