I'm with so many of the other people...what is the attraction to this place? My family and I were there last weekend for my birthday and it was the most unimpressive place I've eaten in Nashville since arriving last year. The hostess was more than rude, she literally "snubbed" me when I questioned the table where she had chose to seat us. The waitress was nice but dull, unemotional, in fact, the food and atmosphere could be described the same way. All in all, it was just plain boring!

I've been here a few times. The food has never been good. They skimp on so many things. The front door greeting is so unfriendly. The service is juvenile at best.
It seems a bit dirty and cold on cold days.

Pros: location

Cons: everything else

We found this place by accident. Touring the south we wanted to expierence the music scene and were driving aimlessly about and ran into a noon time traffic mess. After trying to make a left turn a few times we came to the Tin Angel. The sign "Valet Parking" grabbed my attention and we said "This must be the place"

We had never been in the south or Nashville and were looking for what we thought "The Southern Expierence" was. It was here. Attentive greeting at the door and quick seating even though it was 12:00PM. Wait staff was nice to a fault and made some suggestions for "Southern Food" I selected the Etuffe [ which is not always on the menu] it was outstanding. Not to wet, not to dry and with a good mix of seafood and vegetables. The only thing lacking was a good dry California Chardonnay or Viogior. If I ever get to Memphis with a few days we will go back.

After hearing about Tin Angel for many years I finally decided to give it a try. It sucked! I really don't understand why the place was so full, unless it's just a typical Nashville networking spot.

The wait was ridiculous. It took forever to finally get out food, and when it came it wasn't all that. And, for the price, both the quantity and the quality of the food should have been better. Lookin at the portion size of my $14.95 entree, I began wondering if I had ordred an appetizer! Additionally, they don't have anything complimentary. Not even bread. We just sat there waiting thinking that surely a place like this would at least bring you some bread to eat before your meal, especially if you have to wait so long for your food, but no!

The service was lame too. Even after we were seated and were waiting for eons for our food to arrive, the waiter did not once stop by our table to check in on us or let us know what the status of our order was. We even had to ask for refills on our water.

Anyway, Tin Angel sucked! I don't recommend it. Save your money and go somewhere else; where you'll at least get some bread or chips while you wait on your food, and still not have to pay as much as Tin Angel. I know I'm NEVER going back to this miserable place.

Pros: Devoid of any good qualities worth mentioning

Cons: Sub standard menu and service at exorbitant prices

The Tin Angel is what happens when people have more money than they have sense, but I guess even the hoi-polloi need a place to cackle about sprouts and balsamic vinaigrette. The menu at this dump is ridiculous and the only people who go there more than once go because they think they should. I went one Sunday for lunch and thought I?d stepped into a Fellini movie. It was the ?B? list from the Swine Ball. I didn?t even know dead people could eat. Except for people who wear tennis sweaters in June, no one in their right mind would go to this place.

Tin Angel is a great Nashville restaurant.

The food is fabulous and reasonably priced. Few other restaurants in town are as fun and delicious as this one. Everything on the menu is fresh, and I love that the menu is constantly evolving. I particularly love the bowl entrees.

The food is not Tin Angel's only highlight; the service is impeccable. All of the servers have been incredibly familiar with everything on the menu, and they have all been exceptionally accommodating.

Great date spot!

I took a group here on a business dinner and it was fantastic. I'm quite picky too. Being at out-of-towner, I relied on city search, as I ususally do. I was very pleased. My entire party enjoyed their food. (I highly recommend the goat cheese salad. Yum.) Other than being cold when the door was opened by a patron, I was very pleased and will go back again if I'm ever in Nashville.

I've been to Tin Angel a handful of times and always had a great experience, until my last visit about a week ago. After waiting a pretty long time to receive our entrees, they brought my boyfriend the wrong entree. Our server didn't seem to fazed by the incident and only brought him a piece of bread while we waited. I ended up finishing my entree by the time his arrived. When we got our check, I figured that something would have been comped or we would have been given a discount, but nope, everything was charged. My boyfriend and I are both servers and when these kinds of things happen to our tables, we make sure the customer gets the benefit of OUR mistake. This was an expensive, disappointing experience, we will NOT be returning.

Pros: innovative plates, drinks

Cons: SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ambiance is consistently warm and intimate, and I've never had bad service. The waitstaff is accommodating -- and they've even begun to recognize us when we come in. Their eggplant parmesan is some of the best I've had -- so good, in fact, that I care very little that they've become inconsistent in adding other vegetarian options. We'll keep going back as long as we live in Nashville! This restaurant is a testament to the quality you get when you avoid large, generic chains.

Pros: good wine, good food, ambiance

Cons: parking, small bar, no reservations

Pleasant meal in Nashville. The lamp chops were pretty darn good and the mashed potatoes were pleasing. I am purposefully overlooking the fact that the restaurant has no clue what seafood gumbo is, but the seafood soup with rice was decent. I really like the building decor. The wait staff was hip and friendly. I would recommend this place to people.

My friend and I went to The Tin Angel the other night it was a Wednesday night and they were very slow. We could not decide what wine to get so we asked for a sample of a Shraz, the waitress brought us ONE glass for both of us to sample the wine!! That might have been okay if we had been a couple but we were only co-workers. We both ordered the Mahi Mahi with a japanelo & pineapple chuney. The fish was served on a bed of coconut rice. Our meal was wonderful, one of the best pieces of fish I have had in months! The wine was good and we also ordered the house flat bread pizza which was alos wonderful. The food was a great value and the ambiance was warm and inviting. Will definitely go again soon!

If you are going out any day of the week for a quick bite, this elegant little restaurant is ideal. The food is always consistent and the fish special is almost always to die for. The pricing is completely reasonable from everything from the apps to the entrees. However, the service is absolutely atrocious. Where did these people come from? Upon entrance, my wife and I were snapped at by the hostess, after she had ignored our presence for approximately 5 minutes. I am terribly sorry to have inconvienced this girl to do her job. After giving her the benefit of the doubt and pleading our case, she snapped again quite rudely that they were on a wait. On a Friday or Saturday night, that is to be expected for a place that is quality, however, we were quite offended at this girl's manners. Talking to patrons like infants is NOT good customer service.
After waiting patiently, we were seated. Thank you very much rude little hostess. However, the food almost made up for her behavior, almost...if we had gotten a competent server! Her inadequacies on the wine list were absolutely unforgivable. After selecting our entrees we had asked the server what kind of wine she thought should be paired with our meals...seeing as how we had gotten the steak salad and the angel wing to start off with...and then a couple of things to split. She looked at us like a deer in the headlights! She had absolutely no knowledge of the wine list whatsoever.(PS- It's pronounced tem-prah-NEE-yoh...even though it's spelled Tempranillo. All I wanted was a wine that would go with all of the food that we ordered! I am sorry if that is asking too much, but I halfway expect a place like the Tin Angel to have servers on hand with that kind of knowledge. After the meal was delivered to our table promptly, we forgot everything else that had happened, it appeared to have all been a bad dream. The food is absolutely delicious. I have never had a bad meal there, just awful experiences

We experienced Tin Angel yesterday, using a gift certificate we received. It was a pleasant experience, with wonderful food and exemplary service. As we got there before 5 p.m., we were usure as to whether we could order from the dinner menu, but that was no problem. I would recommend this restaurant, and we plan to go back.

This was my first (and last) time visiting this establishment. I had heard about the Tin Angel in many reviews here in Nashville and was happy to finally find the time to go. However, from the moment of arrival all that I can say about my hostess was R-U-D-E. I was trying to ask if there would be a wait time and before I could she threw a finger pointing upward in the air in my face. Not a word said, just the finger. Eyes rolling she then said it would be at least a 20 minute wait. She had no knowledge of what I was going to ask in first place. What if it was just a statement that I had more arriving to my party and needed to give them time to set up for the numbered arrival? How rude! Needless to say, I left. My friends said that I may have missed a good meal but to me, service is the quality that reigns superior to a menu. I hope the good people (if there are any) at Tin Angel learn from this. My husband and I started our Nashville Sunday with terrific Bloody Mary's and Fried Green Tomatoes. The menu was so interesting that we had a hard time deciding. We both chose omelettes, mine Greek, his accompanied by pork tenderloin. Food was great, and the service was really prompt, despite the fact that all tables were filled! We would definitely go again, indeed maybe during this trip-again.

I love the Tin Angel!!! We eat there often and it is always consistently fabulous!! The wait staff are excellent and if you let them, they will always guide you to what is best. My favorit waitress is great about helping us pair wine with specials or what we have ordered for the evening. My husband and I really enjoying eating what is fresh and local, which is signature of Tin Angel. We are always impressed and feel satisfied. For the quality of service, food, wine and atmosphere, the Tin Angel is a must!!

First time to Tin Angel, girls weekend in Nashville on Sat 7/28/07. Told no wait on the phone, half of the tables were empty at arrival, hostess "flitted" her hands at us and said "20 minute wait" for 5. It was. Prepped the table using 4 regular adult chairs and one small childrens chair for 5 adults. Brought us Mimosas instead of Bellini's after going back to the bar to check on availability of cocktails. Couldn't divide the check. From the hostess to the waitress, these ladies had an "attitude" from the minute we walked in. The food was served very quickly (restaurant half full, back room shut down by 9pm on Saturday night). And the meal was delicious. Perhaps we happened to eat on "training" night! ??

For a first timer at the Tin Angel the dinning experience was outstanding! The atmostsphere was very comfortable & plesent. My waiter was excellent, he made some outstanding recommondations and even went as far to explain in detail the menu and the wine list (as i am new to trying wine). He was very attentive to our needs & and are questions. I like to eat, the portions of food at the Tin Angel are generous to say the least. I would have to say the over all experience was GREAT!!!! I will be coming back the The Tin Angel and will also be recommending it to my friends.

After having a massage last week, I met up with a few girlfriends to have dinner and a glass of wine. We were going to go to Maggiano's, but one of the women wasn't eating pasta so we decided to go to Tin Angel, because it was right down the street. Really good choice! The atmosphere is very good. Brick walls made the restaurant look very inviting and warm. Our server was well prepared for the many questions we had about the menu. I had the Med Salad, which was fantastic. Just right with a glass of red wine. We all had different entrees and shared everything. What I really like about Tin Angel is that although the menu is not huge, it's so eclectic, that there's somethng for everyone, from salads to schnitzel. After dinner, we couldn't resist dessert, and although I'm not a really big sweets person, I was glad to see some basic sorbet on the menu. A lovely end to a lovely dinner.. without a huge amount of guilt. And one more thing, Tin Angel impressed me with quality food at prices that won't make you faint when you get the check.

My friend and I endured the wrath of the mean tea lady. I thought she was ficticious, but then I saw her face to face. I think I'm scarred for life. I had to go to tea therapy. All I wanted was the tea I paid for, but she washed it down the drain much like my hopes and dreams.

It all started last Sunday at Tin Angel. My friend and I sat down not knowing what to expect. I didn't know they only served brunch, and since I had breakfast already that day I wasn't really eager to eat another one (being a vegetarian, I only had a couple of choices). We had to get up to inform our hostess that we changed our mind. She asked, "Well, did you order anything?" We explained we ordered tea, but didn't drink it and she said the waiter would have to charge us. That was fine. After all, we were the ones that ordered them. What happened next was the strange part. I just paid $4.26 for two teas I didn't drink, but she took them to the back and poured them down the drain. Now why would I want to pay almost five bucks for tea I didn't drink? We asked her if she packed up our teas and she snapped, "Your waiter will have to do that." That made no sort of sense. So we were charged for tea we didn't drink just for her to dump it out and then have to pour us new ones. I really didn't get it. If you want a drink that you paid for, you might want to go somewhere else.

My vegetarian friend and I decided to go to Tin Angel on Sunday, since this website said it was great for vegetarians. Unfortunately, after we sat down and looked at the menu, we realized that it did not have many veggie dishes at all, or the ones they did have on Sundays were breakfast style.

The waiter had already taken our tea orders, but we had not taken a sip out of them yet. I couldn't seem to get the waiter's attention, so I walked up to the hostess who, by the way, was stuffing her face with potatoes while standing up at one of the tables. She seemed put out that I interrupted her. I told her nicely that we hadn't known that Sundays were brunch only and that we had already had breakfast earlier. She gave me an evil look and then asked if we had ordered yet. I said two teas but we hadn't taken a sip out of them. Then she angrily dashed passed me and my friend, grabbed our teas off of our table, and stormed off to the kitchen. Then our waiter came up and said hold on - usually we don't charge for drinks if you don't drink them but I guess she wants to charge you so I will go get your bill. So we waited for our waiter to bring back our tea bill - which was $4.26 by the way. Anyway, we were both willing to pay since we had made the mistake of sitting down, but then when I asked the hostess if she had put our teas in to-go cups, she turned around and snapped, "I can't do that! The waiter has to do that." We were shocked at how rude she was. (Hey, if you are going to make me pay for the tea, I want to drink the tea, lady.) Then the waiter came back and explained to us that the "menu has been brunch only on Sundays for ten years" and he was shocked that we didn't know that. Well, I'm sorry kind waiter, but I didn't get the news bulletin on that when I was living two different states for the past 10 years - not even close to Nashville. Do you send out flyers to everyone in the US so they know? Shame on me for not knowing that!

Pros: No pros at all

Cons: Rude people, high prices, and a mean tea lady.

Every Sunday and yes I mean every sunday I sit down at Tin Angel and start my week off right. Mimosa and Eggs Benedict. Everything on the menu is great I know because again we go every sunday but I'm hooked on the Eggs and the potatoes are the absolute best. My children even love this place. I wouldn't be able to rave enough about it. I say go with the warm wheat toast to start, Huevos Rancheros or Eggs Benedict with potatoes!!

I went for lunch along with 2 coworkers last week. Our waiter was very cold and unfriendly; offering no refills on drinks throughout the lunch. We finished our lunch and waited for quite a long time until I finally ask the hostess to have our waiter return to the table. With a bothered attitude he returned to the table, slapped the bill down and walked off.
Very unfriendly, COLD experience; do not plan to return.

I used to go to Tin Angel quite regularly when we first moved to Nashville three years ago. We were impressed and thought the food was above par. We went last week for lunch and I can't quite figure out what happened. The food was low quality and the service was slow and with a forced smile. We waited over thirty minutes for our food - which might not have been a problem had we not watched everyone around us, who all had arrived much later than we did, gotten served, ate and left in timely "lunch" fashion. We had to get our things and our impatient two year old to go. And pay a rather expensive $48 for lunch that we didn't even get to enjoy on site. Being a server myself, I understand that you cannot control the speed of the kitchen but oyu can at least make your customer aware of any problems and suggest alternatives - especially if they have a child present.

Cons: food quality has gone down, lunch service is poor

Went to Sunday brunch last week. Not really all that impressed with the food; kind of like TGI Fridays with a twist. The place was full of the showy big hat and big pearls, self-important, "wanta see and be seen" crowd loudly laughing at their own jokes along with a bunch of "daddy didn't love me so I dress this way" college kids. The Salmon "special" tasted like leftover from the weekend that didn't sell. Egg frittata was undercooked, greasy and bland. "Angel Wings" appetizer (flour tortilla, with apple, onions and cheese) was somehow half burned and half raw from the grill. Nothing all too remarkable given the price ($40 for two). Would not recommend with so many other good restaurants in town.

Quintessential locally owned bistro with fresh, wonderful food at very reasonable prices. The beef dishes are my everyday favorite but you can find excellent salad, pasta and seafood as well.
Great service, with a wonderful "familiar" ambience. From the moment the delicious bread arrives, you know you are in for a great meal. I am so happy to live in this neighborhood and walk to this restaurant.

I have lived in this city for over 3 years, and I can't believe I have just recently eaten here. Arrived at around 7pm on a Wednesday night and was seated promptly. The crabcake appetizer was very good. My boyfriend and I ordered the only 2 chicken entrees are were very happy with the choices. Service and ambience were wonderful. I will be back...very soon!

I have now eaten at Tin Angel a number of times for dinner and brunch, and every experience has been a great one. Even though, Tin Angel doesn't take reservations they've always been able to accomodate my groups of up to 7 people. If I could only say one thing about Tin Angel, I'd say that it is a great value! It's got the food, especially the fried green tomatoes, it's got the ambiance, great service all for a reasonable price. It's also a great date spot- excellent quality but not too expensive. I can't wait to go again!

I went to Tin Angel for lunch and learned that they bring in fresh seafood everyday, order fresh food every other day, make thier own sauces, ect fresh in house. I will go to Tin Angel more often now that I know they have the same concerns about fresh healthy foods that I do. I like the Angel Louie spicy with chicken or shrimp or both. Last week I had the shrimp salad which was different but good. My server was very nice and attentive, she said she worked at Tin Angel for I think 15 years and said she would rather work there then any other place. I think that says alot about any business. Although their pricing is higher then I expected, when I realized the care and fresh ingrediants they put in their food it is a real good value.

Tin Angel has become a favorite for lunch. The soups are generally very good, and I love the Shrimp Roll, a Bay Shrimp Salad served New England Style in toasted roll. Service is typical for most Nashville restaurants, just ok,somewhat friendly, but not well-trained.

Food and service was great. I had the filet tournedoes and it was fantastic. House salad was wondrful as well. Excellent serive. Attentive without bieng intrusive.

The only disappointment I had was the fireplace. Such a nice firepalce but very cheap looking gas (?) logs. Tuen this into a real fireplace again and bring back the calss at the front door.

Tin Angel is one of the best in Nashville. Crab cakes are amazing, Angel Louie is outstanding and their after dinner drinks are fabulous. Great first date place since its not too pushy romantic, but quiet enough to have good conversation.
Highly Recommend!

I went with my husband and was sorely disappointed! The selection was really fu fu. Come on 11.00 for a Chicken Quesidelia (sp) you have got to be joking?!?!? The only redeeming quality was our server seemed to know about the wine list.
I would never pay to go back there and would advise others not to waste their money.

I went here for a first romantic date with a friend. Overall an OK choice, but I was sorely disappointed by the "vegetarian" recommendation. There were three pasta dishes without carnage--and that was it! I ended up with one of them, and it was good, but nothing I couldn't make at home (and I'm not that great of a cook).
The hostess was friendly, and our server, while efficient, was not overly bothered by us. She was not helpful at all with the wine list--and we ended up with whatever merlot they felt like giving us.
It was perfect for our purposes: some place nice enough to be "dateish", but not so "romantic" or "trendy" as to be uncomfortable. I'll probably be back, but this time with my parents or friends and not so hopeful for imaginative veggie cuisine.

People have been recomending Tin Angel to me for awhile now and I travel to Nashville quite a bit. Bottom-line the food was very good and at a good value in my opinion. The service was amateurish (sp?) and a bit lazy. The atmosphere was dark and smokey. I had the Trout Almonine and a Sherry Black Bean soup and both were excellent. I ordered the sweet potato (extra sweet with brown sugar and rich with butter) because I wanted to go a bit more healthy, but the butter was heavy and made it creamy and very good. The asparagus that came with it was al-dente' and was hot off the grill. Very tasty. The soup was very good and deep in flavor. I think it was pretty healthy too. Wine list is sparse but not too bad.

Tin Angel is absolutely wonderful. This menu is fabulous for vegetarians, and it also caters to meat eaters. The atmosphere is great---there's always a crowd gathered around the inviting fireplace. If you are a vegetarian, try the Angel Louie Pasta...you will love the fresh parmesan and sun dried tomatoes. Don't ask for a French Martini with your meal, though----this restaurant does not serve french vanilla vodka.

We happened upon Tin Angel when our original plans fell through. We stoppe din and were told there was a 45 min wait so we sat in the bar. Nice service and kind bartender We were seated in a somewhat timely manner. Liked the atmosphere. Our waitress was not kind and didn't even make eye contact. She didn't even say your welcome or anything.
Food was good and came quickly. Crabcakes were awesome. We could have eaten a whole platter of them.

The Tin Angel is a wonderful place to have a romantic dinner with that special someone without feeling like you are in a sappy Meg Ryan movie. The food is terrific, and the prices are great for the amount of food you receive. The atmospere is lively, but you feel like you can still have a romantic dinner, and not be bothered. I love this restaurant, and will go back again and again!!!
