Bank of America is the worst bank and has the worst customer service I have ever come across. They use predatory practices when it concerns debiting your account for over draft fees. Instead of debiting your account in the order of your charges, it waits a few days and leaves the transactions as pending until you make a large enough purchase to over draw your account. It then takes the largest amount first in order to steal as much money as possible from your account and then when you call to discuss it with a customer service agent they repeat the same page from their training manual over and over. They also hold checks you deposit if there is a way they can over draft your account. There is no way for an intelligent human being to actually balance their check book with this bank because they choose to debit your account indiscriminately. Many reviews I have come across have several postings by bank of america employees chastising those who were subject to equivocal business practices for not reading the pages and pages of documents that BOA provided at the opening of the account. They argue that the signing of these documents makes all of these dubious transactions legal. It is not the legality that I question, but the intention. BOA documents use a bunch of legal jargon that a large percentage of Americans can't understand and half of them don't take the time to read. This company has exploited that fact in a way to steal the largest amount of money possible from hard working American citizens in order to offset the liabilities they face when providing people who have no social security number or drivers license with a credit card and a bank account. Proving the legality of predatory practices in no way justifies the actions of the company, but further validates the greed of a corporation that already makes far too much money for the very mediocre 'service' they provide. I'd sooner keep my money in a shoe box under my bed than continue to bank with Bank of America.
