Carl Wood's Garage

I'm from out of state and my 10 year old car recently broke down in Nashvillle. I was braced for a major repair bill. Based on these and other internet reviews- I took it to Carl's and crossed my fingers. Turned out to be relatively minor. They had ample oppourtunity to "take me for a ride" and didn't Was repaired promptly with good communications throughout process.

Auto repair doesn't get any better than this.

Carl ROCKS. He knows his stuff and he's honest. I actually feel I can trust him -- if he tells me X needs to be done, I KNOW it really DOES need to be done. He also goes out of his way to try to save you money where possible (rebuilt parts, etc.), which I really appreciate since I have 2 old cars!

Carl and his team are quick, thorough and very reasonable.
If they cannot fix it for some reason, they will let you know and not charge if it's not necessary.

AutoZone used ODB diag. Cat/O2 faulty.
Emmissions DOT used ODB diag. Cat/O2 faulty.

So I took it in to get it fixed to Wood's garage. He used ODB diag to give me the same answer previous tests showed, and when I asked him, "Well what's the next step, I need this fixed..."

He said he called a parts supplier, and couldn't get a hold of them, and pretty much dodged my need to get my car fixed. He even suggested I go to a dealer. It's almost as if he didn't want to have to make a few phone calls to find my part.

The next day I went to a Meineke and they fixed it for me. They called around after running ODB diag and found the part while I waited in the shop, less than 25 minutes.

Carl charged me $40 for me to waste a whole day dropping off my car, picking it up. I feel like he owes me money.

I had major engine problems that required a great deal of work. I had not used Carl Woods garage in the past, but got a great recommendation from a friend. Although the work came in just a bit over the estimate due to internal damage, everyone was quite professional and I am completely satisfied with the work that I had done. I give them a resounding five stars.

My father in law is a mechanic and he recommended Carl Wood's garage and I have been service by them for the past 3 years and they are the best garage I have ever used in my 18 years of driving. Everything people look for in a mechanic. Honest, fair priced and quality work. Five star no doubt.

Everybody needs a good repair shop for their car, and this is the place. I have been doing business with them for twenty years. These are good honest people that will not rip you off. Years ago I could just call and get in that day but not any more. I guess the good news is out. If you need repair and can wait a few days, call Woods Garage. Michelle will answer the phone. It's a family owned business that is rated A+ in my book.

PROS: Honest and Dependable
CONS: May have to wait a day or so to get in
