I am a longtime customer of AMS. I spoke with the management about a review by Dawn S. She claims they say she is lying about her chair, and charged her 4 times the going rate, and the manager is hard to get along with. She had a used lift installed 4 years ago by AMS, when she had a smaller chair. She then purchashed one of the biggest chairs on the market, which caused havoc with the lift. AMS fixed her lift numerous times at no charge, as well as replacing broken parts under warranty, but had to charge labor because it was not covered. Labor rate was only $55/hour (not 4 times the going rate). They even talked the manufacturer into a new base which was not under warranty, trying to help Dawn out. They charged labor to replace it but she didnt have to buy the base. The manager she refers to was actually only the salesman, who is no longer with the company. I highly recommend Accessible Mobility. They have a knowledgable staff who are dedicated to the customer and the industry. They are the only company in the Knoxville area who work exclusively on wheelchair accessible vehicles.

They claim to be the only place in town, I have had little success dealing with them, They accused me of lying re: the weight of my wheelchair, Work was not stood behind for even 6 months, THey asked 4 X the going rate for a repair as a deposit, then parts were left loose and had to be tightened by a competitor. THey feel they have a customer base which is stuck, their behavior means I trust even less business. I would not send anyone, except someone who I would like to see ripped off.
