My daughter rented her books and unfortunatley she was in a car wreck. Her books were in her car. This buisness charged her bank account $452.00 for the books because they were not returned on time. They stated taht they called but they did not and even if they did there was not anything we could do. They did tell us we could sell them back so off we went. She recieved $50.00 for the same books that she just paid $452.00 for which did not include the rental fees or any other fees that where paid up front. I did E-Mail the owner but never recieved a reurn. How can you justify charging $452.00 and then give $50.00. I understand policy but her car was in a body shop for 4 weeks. Circumstances? I even offered to document the circumstances but again I did not recieve a reply. In the future we will buy books anywhere but there. This place totally took advamtage of a situation.

The workers have bad attitudes. I was very unimpressed.

They acted so put out when I asked them if they had a particular book. Isn't that their job?

When I did buy a book, they gave me the dirtiest one they could find. I spent over $70 on a used edition. You'd think they would give me a nicer version for the price I paid, but they didn't.

When I tried to sell my books last semester (four, all virtually unopened), they offered me a total of $13... I bought them for $300! They buy books for cheap and them sell them four five times as much. DON'T sell your books to them. Try Craigslist of the campus bookstore.

At one point, I had to buy some books from them because the campus bookstore didn't have any of the ones I needed. Anyway, StudyMaster had two of the three, and they said they'd have the third in a few days. They said they'd call. So I waited and waited (they never called), and when I went to pick up my third book, they said they had already given it to me. I had to speak to the manager to get my book! Ridiculous! I had the receipts and everything.

Bottom line: DON'T shop/sell here. Go to craigslist.com or to the campus bookstore (which is a little better).

Study Master is way less expensive than the campus bookstore, and they are always open 9 - 5 Monday through Friday. Someone stated earlier that you need a receipt to sell your books back... that is false. You only need to bring the textbook into the store, and that is it. I've saved so much money there, that I used the difference that I would have spent and bought my first computer. The experience was great!

Studymaster is located near the Austin Peay campus and sells all of the textbooks used there. The books can be bought new or used and are cheaper than the books in the campus bookstore. At the end of the semester, you can sell the books back to Studymaster for a portion of what you paid, but you must have your receipt. The also sell other school supplies and study aids.
