I read the previous review and could not disagree more!! I had adopted a dog who had spent her whole life as a breeder a few weeks prior and we were going into petsmart. She jumped out of the cart and hit her head. I freaked out! I ran into Bansfield and they took her right in. Dr. Coffeen may not have the best bedside manner but he sure knows what he is talking about! I had taken my dog to our family vet for her first visit previously. Dr. Coffeen looked her over and gave her some medicine. He also discovered breast tumors that she had as a result of over breeding. He also said that since she had those tumors she may have more tumors inside. I scheduled her for surgery the next week for them to remove those tumors and also to have her spayed. I called to check on her and Dr. Coffeen himself got on the phone to let me know how she was doing. He said that it was the worst case of insides they had ever seen covered in tumors and cysts and that if we had not had anything removed she wouldn't live very long. They kept everything for me to see if I wanted to. (I passed on that :) He said I would have a different dog on my hand, basically a puppy (my dog was between 6 & 8) because she would feel much better.
Boy did I! My dog has been a brand new dog! She is happy and healthy and now plays with toys and eats. I took her back to Dr. Coffeen for a check-up and everything was fine. He said that they just breed the dogs and give them medicine to make them have more puppies and that she would have a happy life now.
I know this is a long story, but Dr. Coffeen softens up the more he talks to you. He is very professional and knows what he is talking about. I would much rather have a vet who can find things than a vet who has a better bedside manner but could not find obvious bumps and tumors during a well dog visit.
Also, they did not mention the insurance to me at all. I saw paperwork to read on it but I was not forced to buy anything. They actually gave me a deal on the services she had.

Dr. Coffeen, the doctor at the Bansfield Pet Hospital at the Cool Springs Petsmart has the worst "bedside manners" of any vet I've ever taken my dog to. He was rude, demeaning, and a jerk! He told me about all of the fatal things that could be wrong with my dog before he ran any tests. He had me in tears and terrified. I will take my dog to a vet who has the decency to show compassion on people and animals. Also, Bansfield pushes their Wellness Insurance on their customers. I would never recommend this vet to anyone.
