First of all when you're thinking of Denton, what better place to go than the square?
Second if you're looking for a place to go where you can just relax and be yourself with no pretensions then you'll want to check out Wine Squared.

Great wines and prices.. she will let you taste most anything. They do classes and tastings and will teach you a lot about wine.
Don't let the staff fool you-- they are awesome.. a little rough around the edges but awesome!

The owner is...well..really blunt. Some people will be ok with that and others not. She thinks she knows her stuff very well, and she may but they way she comes off is too much. The selection is great and the set up is too cute. She has wine tastings and has some great ones. I will continue to go back.

Wow, who would have thought in this sleepy little bohemian town there would be such a cool place...or maybe that's why it is there. Though small, the staff and patrons were so friendly both times we visited, we ended up staying much longer than planned. The wine was reasonably priced, well recommended, and the bites to eat all tasty and appropriate (cheese, bread and oil etc)...oh, the glassware was beautiful too.
The owner is a very interesting woman who is not only a sommelier but has traveled the world. Tobias, one of the employees, is the sweetest Belgian, funniest you've ever met...and his mohawk is cool too! Being in our fifties we thought at first we were "too ancient" for the scene but, we found ourselves making new friends with the wonderful regulars who rode in on SKATEBOARDS to enjoy the wine and beer!
Though we don't live near Denton, we will be back as soon as we can as we have already made plans to have dinner with our new friends!

Pros: awesome staff and atmosphere, great value

Cons: pretty far from Dallas
