Hair and Company Salon

I have recently moved to houston and nervous to try a new person. Kat was very professional and put me at ease. I recieved great services from her and i called recently to make another appointment and i was told she was no longer there. I was very upset that there was no one with a contact # for her so i called a friend that i refered to her and they ran onto each other out somewhere. Anyway, I was able to contact her at
832.725.4564 . Is this the way every salon works? It should be the customer is always right! Right?

I had a disaster of an ordeal with the lying cheating person who was supposed to do my extentions for my 10 year anniversay marriage renewel in Jamaica She basically left me high and dry and took my money. So I called around to try and find a salon that could get me in.. in a timely fashion. When I called Vertigo I spoke with Erica and she was a heaven sent. She was understanding to what needed to be done and went above and beyond to make sure that I was perfect for before I left for Jamaica. And she even offered to come in on a day they were closed to assist me. It all turned out so wonderfully. She will tell you the truth flat out...and she will listen to and deliver what you want. I will continue to travel to her location because I love her work, and she rocks also!!!

I've been walking around with a bad haircut and grey roots for almost two months. My regular stylist decided to take a straight razor to my wavy fine hair and turned me into an early halloween witch. To top it off, today, when I had an appt with him to fix this mess, I received a call that he left early due to illness. I was livid. I started searching for alternatives but during this crappy economy I can't afford to fork over 250 for color/highlights and a cut. I called hair and company and Bryan answered. I babbled my sob story to him and he set an appt for me that same day (2 hrs later). He really listened to me, fixed my color and gave me some really nice highlights and most importantly repaired my haircut without sacrificing the hair length I've tried so hard to maintain. This place rocks. The receptionist is a total sweetheart and Bryan is an awesome stylist. What a find!

Right away I got comfort vibes from this location. The receptionist and the stylist she introduced me to, Joe, were both friendly and agreeable. I discussed what I wanted, which he understood right away. He didn't have a condescending attitude towards me or try to talk me into getting anything other than what I asked for. The appointment itself was excellent, it lasted three hours but felt more like one. Joe is very friendly and made me comfortable during the whole process - I would recommend him to anyone. The dye job is amazing, looks really good on me and was worth every penny. I will definitely be returning to this location in the future if I need anything else done to my hair, and for touch-ups. Especially if you have very, very long hair such as mine, and are concerned about stylists mistreating your hair, bullying you or cutting without your permission, you will love hair & Co. and .feel secure that your hair will not be mistreated.

JOHN IS AWESOME...he made me feel comfortable and he took the time to look at my hair and talk to me instead of just doing whatever to it...so i wasnt frakin out the whole time wandering how it would look....I had this awful yellow blonde in my hair and John talk to me and explained what he was going to do and it turned out GREAT! I will definitly be returning for more services. also everyone was very welcoming. Very resonable prices too

I beg to differ with Harris2405 about Suzanne. She has been cutting and coloring my hair for over 3 years and I've always loved the result. She is very professional and detailed orientated. She's attentive and I have had her totally change my hairstyle twice, and both times it turned out great. I've had strangers ask me where I get my hair cut! I would recommend her to anyone...

Brian is such a sweetheart! Actually my husband was the one responsible for finding him, and he always came home looking great, so I just had to go and try him out for myself! There's no wonder my husband came home so happy Brian's shampoo's are the Best! Even if you don't need a haircut go and treat yourself to a shampoo and blowout! He has no arrogant attitude, very down to earth, actually the entire staff is very friendly. This Family is hooked on Hair & Co. !

A few months back I went to get an appointment with Ami to get my highlights fixed which were messed by another stylist. She not only gave me the appointment but was really sweet to accomodate me the same day! She spent over 2 hours, colored my hair and cut my hair. They kept the place open till I was done which was over the closing time. Both the manager and the stylist were hospitable and very friendly. She did a great job for both the hair cut and the color, unlike other stylist consulted me before every step. Would definitely go back to her.

Joe cut my hair on Sat and I was extremely pleased with the cut. I have been going to Hair & Company for quite a while now because it is convenient but it usually takes an hour for my cut. I was so pleased to be in and out with a great cut!!!!

I had my highlights done at Hair & Co with Chris and loved it!!! I called and was able to be fit right in and felt right at home with the staff. It was a great time they all were friends and made me laugh. I will be back!

I have been going to Hair and Company since it opened. Ami always gives me great cuts and highlights, and I always received compliments on my hair color after my visits. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very attentive. Great location and good atmosphere. My husband also gets his hair cut there after I convinced him to spend a bit more than Supercuts. He has been a satisfied customer for about a year. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a salon with a good vibe and good prices.

For my next cut, I chose Hair & Co. based on the many LOVED IT! reviews here on Citysearch. I called on a Tuesday and a stylist answered the phone. She offered an appointment that same day, but I declined and was scheduled to see her Thursday at 6 pm. Thursday afternoon rolls around and I'm in the neighborhood by 5:20. I call Hair & Co and speak to the receptionist. I explained the situation and asked if I could come in early, or if I should run an errand and come in at the scheduled time. I was told to run my errand and that they'd be ready for me at 6. I arrived at the salon around 5:50 and immediately noticed that there was only one stylist working, and she was in the process of shampooing a client's hair. Hmm, I think, maybe she's just getting a blowdry. I was offered a glass of water by the receptionist and I sat down to wait. 6 pm, the time of my appointment, rolls around, and the stylist is now cutting her client's wet hair. Hmm, I think, maybe she's just getting a cut and no blowdry. I'm not so impatient that I can't wait 15 minutes. At 6:15, the stylist begins drying her client's hair while still cutting. This is clearly not going to be over any time soon. At that point, I told the receptionist I would not be able to wait, and I walked out. Now, I'm not sure what happened--maybe the stylist was running significantly late--but if this was the case, the receptionist should have told me when I called at 5:20, and she definitely should have told me when I showed up at 5:50. Maybe the client was a walk-in and the stylist thought she could squeeze her in before my appointment. Considering the shampoo was only being started 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment leads me to believe that the stylist has a poor concept of time management. Any way you cut it, it was not professional behavior and I will not be giving Hair & Co. another chance. Next!

I'm a guy who likes to spend little time on his hair, but I gotta say that the way B. cuts it makes it so easy for me in the morning. I wasn't too sure about what I wanted and B. was able to make a suggestion that fit my lifestyle.
I can have a more conservative look for work and a more rockin' look for the weekends! Its really effortless and B. showed me how. Thanks!

I have been to many salons in the area where they throw alot of attitude around but don't really listen to my needs. This is NOT the case at Hair&CO. Everyone is very polite, friendly and eager to make you feel welcome.
I have seen Ami on several occasions and she always takes my concerns to heart. I always leave feeling like a more GLAMOROUS me! Thanks Ami for always fitting me in!

I spent around $150 dollars to get my hair trimmed and highlighted and it was not worth it! Not only did they charge me over the "normal rate" for hair cuts; they barely even did anything, but trim my ends and bangs. I could've gone to a much better salon for the same price and faster (it took over 2 hours).

I have naturally curly hair and I like it that way. I have had horrible cuts by people who are "trimming" my hair (One sheared my hair).

I live near Hair and Company, so I went. My hair was dead at the ends. I met Brian B. He was amazing. I mean that. He takes forever to cut hair. But when he was done with my hair, it was beautiful! He is well worth your time! He cuts every strand individually. And it is worth it.

I have been following B at Hair and Company for some time now. My mom is a hairdresser in Georgia, so growing up I was always a trusting try anything kinda guy and B has kept that adventurous side of me up. B always has great ideas and knows exactly how to follow those ideas through. He has done some awesome color jobs on my hair and the haircuts are always right on point with what works for me. Its not often that you find a stylist that you can trust to do whatever they suggest, however I have been lucky enough to find that. The salon itself is very comfortable, all the employees are polite and engage with everyone not just the customer in their own chair. The salon also uses and sells Goldwell products, which anyone who knows salon grade products knows that Goldwell produces some of the best. The salon and B seem to be in a win win situation. They have my business as long as B is there!

WOW I finally found my hair dresser. Ive never been really satisfied with my hair cut, well not enough to actually go back and see the same person again...no matter how much it cost. But when i went to Hair & Company and B. did my hair. I know where ill be going and following no matter where he goes or how much he charges. SERIOUSLY CHECK B OUT!!!!!! You won't be disapointed.

I did not think my hair could look any worse. I went there because another hair dresser had messed up my hair. I was trying to get it fix. The lady who cut it did not know what she was doing. She took thinning shears to my hair. She used the shears on the inside of my head about half an inch away from my scalp. Now it looks like my hair had broken off. She should have just said no I'm sorry I can't help you. My hair looks ridiculous. Now I am going have to go to another salon and get it fix.

I usually don't post reviews here but I felt the need to, after receiving such great and friendly customer service from Jennifer the other day at the salon. I'm surely coming back and I'm very happy that I finally found someone to do my hair right. I actually discovered this salon here on citysearch. I'm glad I did and I am very pleased that it was a success!

My first visit to this salon was a few days ago (I've been getting "ho-hum" haircuts elsewhere at TWICE the cost)...I'll definitely be coming here from now on!! The simple, elegant salon has a great vibe, and the staff are all gracious and personable without being too fussy -- perfect for me!! John was wonderful, easy to communicate with, anticipated my needs, and most important of all, the cut is fantastic! My hair actually has a shape to it now -- who knew?? I love the way it looks and feels, and I've gotten a hundred "Oh my God who does your hair" compliments in the past few days. Cheating on my old hairdresser may have been the smartest thing I've done all year!

Great experience! I needed a last minute haircut before attending a wedding and wanted a salon that was conveniently located (but one that I could trust). The receptionist was nice and professional- she even called me when someone had cancelled their appointment to let me know I could come in earlier. I walked right in- no wait! Jennifer did a great job on my haircut- and even though I was just visiting town, she treated me like a regular customer. The final price came out to be $65 (incl tip). I've had equally good haircuts for much less, but considering how nice and convenient everything was, I'd definitely recommend this salon.

I must say that I recieved the best services last week at Hair and Company. Jennifer was a prize! She was genuinely a friendly person with alot to offer as far as hair care! My highlights and cut came out PERFECT! When she was done, she even gave me some insightful tips on how to maintain my hair to be healthier! The products she recommended were exactly what I needed for this thinned out hair of mine! She really helped my hair come to life, which is exactly what I asked for. Not to mention, the price was reasonable! Good hair dressers are hard to find, especially since I am so particular about my hair. I'm defintely coming back to see Jennifer....thanks for the great services!! :-)

Ami did my hair for my sister's wedding last October. I had originally planned to have my hair done at another location, but last minute planning meant that the other salon was booked with homecoming hair; Ami was very accommodating with my last minute hair needs and did a great job. As the maid of honor, I was preoccupied with many other projects, not having to worry about how my updo looked was a huge relief. I would definitely recommend Ami for anyone needing an updo, even at the last minute!

Although I live outside Beltway 8, I have been patronizing Hair & Co. ever since the stylish salon opened its doors more than five years ago.

The extra drive is worth it to me because I know I can get my hair care needs done when I wish because Ami and her staff of stylists are flexible enough to accommodate my busy schedule--seven days a week. That's what I call service, being available when I need help and want to look my best.

The convenient hours, friendly, talented staff along with creative styles and colors combine to make doing business at Hair & Co. a real pleasure for me.

The staff pleasantly greeted us when we (the bridal party) walked in the door. They paid a lot of attention to us and got us seated quickly. I felt very confident that we were going to have a good experience here but we were quite disappointed an hour into our visit. Three of 5 people were worked on first. The bride's hair seemed to be going along ok since the hair style was not complicated at all with just a half up and half down curly hair. However the other 2 was a different story. The bridesmaid were to all have the same style of hair and we even brought in a picture. We soon learned that the "stylists" had no idea what they were doing...just curling every strand of hair (yes...including the bangs!!)...can you say "curly sue?".....we left disappointed and were left to fix our own hair only a short time before the wedding started...it was VERY STRESSFUL!! I would definitely not recommend this place for any special occasion. However, I would like to emphasize that their customer service was really nice and I have no idea how they perform on cuts, coloring, etc. Refer to other reviews.

I just moved to Houston for the summer and was looking for a stylish and not-too-pricey cut. I've never been so impressed (and I've been looking for a good salon for MONTHS)! My hair now has great style & texture (which is rare with my lanky, thin hair). The service was great - friendly, genuine, and entertaining. Definitely try it out!

Wow, what a nice surprise. I have been to this salon one time and I can't imagine going anywhere else now. The staff is awesome. I have hilights and low-lights done and John is the best ever. Omar is a great cutter. All of the other staff are very welcoming - really nice atmosphere. I have gone to all sorts of places around town including the way overpriced salons and this really beats them all. I am so glad I found it - go ahead and make an appointment, you won't be disappointed. You'll leave looking fantastic and feeling fantastic because everyone is so genuinely nice!

I found all of the stylists at Hair and Company to be extremely welcoming. They take the time to greet you, even if they are with someone. They have the best customer service. When I left the salon my hair looked amazing. I'm very hard to please and I was very happy with the outcome.

I lost touch with Diano after he left Tova's several years back. By chance I walked into Hair & Co. on Waugh....before reading about it on here. Boy am I glad I didn't read the reviews first, or I would have never gone in. I thought I would get a quick cut, but to my surprise I found Diano there. He is my all time favorite colorist. He always makes me feel like a model when I'm done with my appointments. I inquired about his schedule and he was able to fit me in on the following day for the works highlights/lowlights, cut, eyebrow wax, and eyelash extensions (his eyelash extensions are way cheaper than everyone else!). Now I feel like a sexy enchantress again! He always makes it a point to keep my look fresh and up to date with the fashion world. The salon is smaller, but nice and they have a beautiful bathroom and a separate room to change into a jacket. Everyone there seemed friendly; offering wine etc. I hope anyone else that has lost touch with Diano, can find him now by searching on Citysearch. Best Wishes to everyone in cyberspace!
