Ratings_icons Ronn and Bonnie are my angels!!

Belinda C.

I walked into Pat Painter's recently and was greeted by a really tall, cute, sweet man who asked how he could help me. I was trying to be strong, but when the words came out, "I'm about to start chemotherapy," so did the tears! Ronn put his big strong arms around me and held me while I cried for several minutes, all the while telling me, "Honey, you came to the right place... everything will be all right, and we're gonna fix you up so beautiful"..... AND HE DID!! He showed me tons of choices in wigs and told me that when my hair started falling out, to come and let him shave it. So that's what I did..... my friends brought champagne and roses and cameras and Bonnie and Ronn made it a really fun evening. We all tried on different wigs, then shaved me to a mohawk and took hilarious pictures, then off it all went. My head didn't look so bad - no conehead look, thank God! Then he fixed me up with a wig that is really close to what my hair looked like before. That gives some level of comfort to me. Anyway, Ronn and Bonnie stayed late for us. We didn't even get there until closing time. I felt really bad, and they were both so wonderful about it. They really care about their clients and you can feel that from them. It feels like I'm more than a client - I'm a friend and vice versa. Bonnie is a survivor and she can really relate to what this all feels like since she's been through it before. Ronn is a sweetheart, and so funny, and such a caring and loving man. He is dedicated (like Bonnie) to helping women with cancer. He loves "his girls" as he calls them. And we love him right back! Thank you so much, Ronn and Bonnie, for making such a dark time so much brighter for me. Each time I visit I have a really fun time and I leave with a big smile on my face.....which doesn't happen a lot when chemo is involved! Ha! I love you guys!!

Ratings_icons Bonnie and Staff at Pat Painter's ROCK!

shannont09

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2009. Having survived another type of cancer 19 years ago, I was no stranger to the protocol. The one thing I hadn't experienced before was the hair loss from chemo. So, along with purchasing many colored bandanas I decided I also needed a wig. A friend recommended that I visit Bonnie at Pat Painter's Wigs. That turned out to be a treasure trove of information, fun, and one really hot wig! Bonnie is also a survivor. She and the other staff understand that for most people who enter their doors this is not high up on their list of fun things to deal with. For me, however, it was the most fun I've had since being diagnosed. My nature is to be silly, so Bonnie and I bonded immediately when she had my whole family, to include my husband, trying on wigs. I was a little disappointed when Bonnie shaved my head that I didn't look like Demi Moore, in GI Jane however, I now have Lisa Rinna's hair, and I love it! Bonnie also introduced me to the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas. I look forward to meeting these fine folks who help cancer patients at a fund raiser/happy hour this week. I've always been about giving back to my community, and now I have a new focus. All of this because of one person's recommendation! Thank you Pat Painter's for having an amazingly professional and caring staff. Ever grateful, Shannon Thompson

Pros: Professional, limitless stock of wigs, and crack-me-up fun

Cons: None to be found

Ratings_icons Thank you for bringing laughter & fun into this rough time

I walked into Pat Painter's with my dear friend Linda to have my head shaved. Neither Linda nor I were quite sure what to expect. We were both nervous and I was apprehensive, emotional, and saddened that I was going to have my head shaved. I wasn't sure how I was going to make it through this appointment without bursting into tears. From the moment we arrived, Bonnie and Ron put both Linda and I at ease and the fun began! They took what could have been a very difficult and emotional experience and made it into something to have fun with and laught at. We appreciate your thoughtful caring and fun attitude; you both have a very special gift in caring for cancer patients and what they are going through! Thank you Pat Painter's so much for such a fun experience - an experience I (nor Lida) will ever forget!

Ratings_icons Understanding, professional stylists and large "in stock" inventory of reasonably priced wigs.

marcy1960

The staff at Pat Painter's wig shop was very helpful and understanding of my hair loss problem. The professional stylist was able to cut and style my new wig to customize it to my head, neck and face. When Bonnie was through it looked very natural and not like a "hair hat". The "in stock" inventory is impressive and their prices were very comparable to on-line ordering - especially when you consider the styling and advice are part of the price. I highly recommend this shop to anyone who needs a temporary or long term hair replacement.

Pros: Understanding professional stylists, good selection of wigs and hair pieces

Cons: Closes at 5:00 or 5:30 daily...no late hours
