I think this is one of the better libraries in the DFW area. They have more than just books. They also have video's, DVD's and Cd's that you can check out as well. They are very involved with children's program and events.

PROS: Free

This place is huge. It is a lot bigger than the Nicholson libraries. The tables and chairs are spread out nicely so there are many places to read if you wish. The shelves are spread out alot though so it appears to me they don't really have as many books as it looks.

As most public libraries now have public access internet labs, Richardson is no exception. With high tech self checkout and self returns coming into implementation Richardson has streamlined it's facility even more in accomodating its patrons. You will need to show Texas residency though to get a library card.

but lacks on service. In all the time I've been going there I've never once been asked if I need help or even given a friendly smile from a librarian. If you ask they will attempt to help you though. The library is difficult to use with books on three levels and the stairs out of sight, but they do host good community events and have an above-average collection of materials.
