.

I went to the store after receiving a telephone quote for a pkg I was mailing. I was quoted 43 dollars for the pkg which was 24 by 24 by 2 and half and weighed 35 pounds. When I arrived the "Manager" on duty did not attempt to help me carry this heavy box in and I had to set it down, open the door and pick it back up. Rather than be greeted with a "Hello" and Welcome to the UPS Store" he tapped his fingers on the counter for me to bring the pkg over. After he measured it, he told me the most economical price he could get it to it's destination was for $120.00! I told him about the phone quote and he replied "You didn't talk to me". So, I picked the heavy pkg up and went to the UPS terminal where I was greeted with a hardy "Hello" and they helped me carry the pkg and... oddly enough, told me it was going to be 43 dollars most economical delivery!! The same price I had been quoted on the phone at the other place but then charged more than double when I arrived. I paid and called the UPS store back and spoke to the fellow and told him what I had just paid.
His response: "They cut you a break, or they didn't measure it right" I asked if he was pocketing the money. He then went on to tell me how the UPS store doesn't even use UPS that his place of business goes for the most economical shipper. WHAT??!!? Then why the heck is UPS plastered all over their store front if they don't ship UPS?. I've called and left messages for the Owner call me and we are going on a week and she has not returned my calls. If you go to this location BEWARE, you may be overcharged! In my opinion you are better off spending a little gas money driving to the UPS terminal on 28th street rather than going here and lining the pockets of UPS Store employees with your dollars. DANGER! DANGER!

P.S.: Two weeks have gone by and the owner has not called me despite my repeated attempts. This owner obvioulsy could care less about customer satisfaction and probably is in on "the take".
I've turned the matter over to the Consumer Fraud Division of the Texas Attorney Generals Office and the BBB.
