This restaurant is one of our favorites. Went there for dinner tonight and loved it. The food is always fresh and the wine prices are always reasonable. Highly Recommend.

The food is fantastic. That said the portions are very small. I realize that it's tapas, but it's a little ridiculus at times. If I'm paying $15, I expect a little more than a 2 inch by 1 inch piece of fish.

The service isn't anything special... I could go to Chili's and get service that's just as good.

The people (and the staff) are definitely a little pretentious. That's not necessarily a bad thing... it just depends on what you happen to be looking for at the time. People watching can be pretty entertaining at times.

After being told our first two bottles of wine we ordered were not in stock we finally selected one that they had and the absent minded waiter brought it to the table after we had completed our appetizer. We shared the shrimp with crabmeat cornbread to start the shrimp was great and it was completely destroyed by the cream sauce that was slopped all over the top of it. I then got the Lousiana Redfish which was fine but no better then grilling a piece of fish at home. My wife got the pork chop with madera wine sauce which was a huge slab of meat but brined so heavily in salt that it took away any essence of what the chop could have been. Overall if I was going out for a $100.00 + dinner ibiza would not be the place. Service was awful, food was forgetable, and atmosphere was stuffy with all the beautiful people acting "beautiful" and as if they could have their own reality show.

I came with a group of 15 and made reservations for a birthday party. The decor and set-up of the restaurant is eloquent and nice ambience. I order the lamb chops and have to say that it was excellent. The portions of all the entrees were more then enough, excellent wine, and the wait staff was excellent in service. I would have to agree that it is pricey but you do get your money??s worth. Only con I have is that they actually charged me $2 per slice to cut a cake I brought in myself which I felt was overbearing since spending nearly $800 in dinner and wine. I??d definitely would come again for the food and recommend everyone to try it out at least once, just be prepared to come on an empty stomach and have your wallet ready.

We were there a week ago for a dinner. Unfortunately, the waitress waiting for our table was extremely rude! It was a very unpleasant experience. We really regret that we went.

I've eaten at Ibiza twice before and loved it, the food and wine is up to my English standards. We have got relatives over from the uk which we are taking there tonight. However, when phoning to book our table this morning, the person who took my booking thought I'd hung up and started mimicking my accent. I'm not impressed at all by this because it's so rude an unacceptable. I hope that person is working tonight as I have a very big tip for him - learn some manners!

We had wanted to try Ibiza for quite some time and finally went on my wife's birthday. The ambiance was nice, nothing great; patio seating was nice but a bit warm. We started out cocktails which were outrageously priced.

Appetizers: SPANISH OLIVES, JAMON SERRANO AND MANCHEGO CHEESE - nice to start, but slicing ham and cheese doesn??t take a culinary genius - 2 Stars. LONG STEM ARTICHOKE HEARTS WITH SARDINIAN STYLE FREGOLA PASTA AND BLACK OLIVE OIL - very nice, tender with mild flavor with something like couscous-3 Stars.

Entrees: GRILLED LOUISIANA REDFISH WITH SHELLFISH COURT BOUILLON AND SPICY TASSO RISOTTO - Nice flaky fish cooked perfectly, nice mild broth, the risotto was the stand out in the dish, it was excellent - 4 Stars. MOROCCAN GRILLED SHRIMP WITH GOAT CHEESE POLENTA - Shrimp were small but not over cooked, nice flavor. Polenta was pureed and relative tasteless: 3 Stars.

Wine: CADE-SAUVIGNON BLANC-??PLUMPJACK? NAPA VALLEY CA ?? Nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price, however nowhere on the label was ??Plumpjack? mentioned but I later learned this is a ??value label? from the Plumpjack folks.

They brought out ??Loving Cup? of cotton candy with a sparkler on top for my wife??s birthday which she thoroughly enjoyed.

All in all, a bit pricey relative to food quality.

BIGGEST COMPLAINT!!!!!! You are forced to use Valet Parking or park somewhere on the street and walk up. When we arrived there were more than a dozen empty spaces with ??cones? blocking them for the valet. The valet took my car and pulled into a spot less than 20 feet from where I stopped at the valet stand!!! I don??t need or want valets parking my car, but you have no choice. In order to have my voice heard regarding the valet issue, I won??t be returning to Ibiza until they learn to let the valets walk and reserve the parking up from for customers.

I've only been to the lounge bar next door. Haven't tried the food but heard mixed reviews. The lounge however is a good one. I've enjoyed meeting up there with friends and the atmosphere is lively (Friday nights). Service is very good and the waitstaff and bartenders are very nice. They almost always have a DJ spinning there from house to hip hop and the norm alternative. Prices are a little pricey but the decor and the atmosphere make up for it. The lounge is a bit on the small side so it can be a little over whelming on the hot nights but not too terrible. Seating tends to be limited, especially at the bar itself but it's supposed to be more of a "get out there and mingle" place. I've personally met some very nice people there and would recommend this place to anybody else looking for some fun.

Starting with our Hostess Kelly, and ending with our Server Chris B we had a fabulous time and the greatest service. Our reservation was perfect and the hostess came to the lounge to take us over to our dining table with a huge smile. No electronic pagers here. And staff happy to be on the job ...what a concept!!
Our server Chris is a wine expert (as far as we are concerned) whose knowledge of the wines and the list proved invaluable. I was entertaining a group from out of State and they were very impressed and likened their experience to some of their favorite NYC restaurants. Every dish recommended was as promised and wonderful. Kirby Fries rule !
Everyone tries to copy these fries and no one has succeeded. Best restaurant wine prices we have found well. Great job !! Oh and what ever the occasion the cotton candy presentation will make you smile and bring out the child in you - we can all use more of that.
Good Job all !!

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Ibiza a couple of weeks ago while dining out with my family for my mothers birthday. Our servers name was eric, and although an intimidating figure, he truley provided us with a wonderful dining experience. He provided an excellent choice of wine, which was significantly lower than we were used to paying, and his explanations and reccomendations for the food were on point and to the tee. He couldnt have been more sweet or sarcastic for that matter in taking care of us. I am a goat cheese fiend and the Local goat cheese appetizer and morrocan shrimp were to die for. So much special attention was paid to my mother who was not optomistic about turning a year older, it really made her night. I must say it was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we have had as a family in a long time and we will be back for sure.

Ibiza used to be one of my favorite places in Houston, but on a recent Thursday night, it was not up to its usual standards. It was a nice Thursday evening, so I was looking foward to sitting on the patio with a family member. They did their usual asking if you have a reservation, but then seating you immediately. We had an enjoyable meal, but nothing about either of our dishes was terribly exciting. Then, when we were almost finished a different server came to our table to let us know that our server had left because he was ill and she would be taking care of us. I was not sure I wanted to know that the person serving my meal was sick, but then he came back and offered to box up our leftovers - I didn't take anything home (although I wanted to). Then, when he started to walk away the two servers had a conversation right next to our table with her telling him he needed to go home. I understand that people get sick and still come to work, but there had to be a better and more private way to handle this. I'll may go to Ibiza again, but only if someone else suggests it.

After dining at their sister restaurant the previous week, we decided to give Ibiza a try for my mother's birthday. Boy were we not disappointed. Our waiter Wes was outstanding and gave excellent recommendations not only on the food but also on the wine list as well. Speaking of the wine list, wow! What else can be said? The prices are low, and they are amazing VALUES!!! I was shocked at seeing bottles I'm used to paying 60 or 70 dollars for listed at 45. The whole grilled shrimp with crab cornbread appetizer was fantastic. The vermillion snapper special and the braised lamb shank w/ spanish mint oil were fantastic dishes. But the highlight of the meal was the bread pudding. I may be returning just to have that again.

The wine was good and reasonably priced, but the food was on the lower side of middling. We tried appetizers, entrees, and desserts, and everything missed. Sometimes it missed only by a little, but this was nothing even resembling a $155 meal. Although I am perpetually disappointed by the Houston food scene, this place isn't worth another visit, even by local standards.

The place is ok , service fair , but food is really lousy from bread - desert . When people drink too much and accept mediocre food this is the result . Who wants lamb shank swimming in a dish of liquid over spicy mashed potatoes .Grossest potatoes ever . If you like good food don't go to Ibiza - Go to the real Ibiza in spain .

I took 3 business associates here for a Tuesday night dinner. We had reservations and were seated promptly (inside). All of us ordered appetizers and entrees, some also got salads and some got dessert wines. We had some really excellent Ridge Chardonnay that most restaurants wouldn't even carry, let alone sell at the low price that this place does. Their classic Wedge salad with Green Goddess dressing was terrific. In fact, everyone enjoyed their food tremendously. I went to Ibiza many years ago when I lived in H-town. This meal is making me think about moving back! Highly recommended.

I have been to Ibiza on a number of occassions; have always had great service and food. The wine selection and prices are some of the best in Houston. We ate there with friends last night and as always the service and food were top notch. Unfortunately, it was really noisy and hard to hear others at your table. Would highly recommend Ibiza to anyone... But go early if want to avoid the noise.

My boyfriend and I went to Ibiza on Valentine's Day with another couple. We had reservations for 8:30, but it was after 9:00 before we were seated. Considering Valentine's Day is one of the busiest holidays for dining out, this was forgivable, if not inconvenient. (There is a lounge next door where we were able to grab a cocktail.) The meal itself was excellent! The crab bisque is amazing!! But then it came time to pay the bill. We split the tab with the other couple dining with us. Shortly after, an assistant manager came to our table to ask us if our service and meal were okay. We explained that the evening had been lovely. She then proceeded to ask us if our service and meal were good why had we only tipped the waiter 12%. We had intended to (and thought we had) leave the waiter more. The assistant manager then flopped the bill in front of us and said again that it was only 12%. Though it was an honest mistake on our part, we were appalled that we were chided for our tip (which on a $250 tab was not small even at 12%) and basically bullied into giving more! We eventally spoke to the manager who offered us no real apology for his assistant's rude behavior. I will NOT being going back!!

We eventally spoke to the manager who offered us no real apology for his assistant's rude behavior. I will NOT being going back!!

Ibiza USED to be one of my fav spots in Houston which is why I chose to celebrate my bday here with a group of friends on 12/21/07. Everything was going great- wine, martinis, good company...until the appetizers came. The mussels (which are usually a fav) smelled very rancid...bad to the point we couldn't enjoy our other apps so we sent them back. Shortly after a very rude "owner" came to our table and spoke to us in a very abrupt, condensending manner, snatched my martini away as if the alcohol was to blame (it was my first cocktail of the night) and didn't bring me a fresh drink back or offer another app or an apology. We apologized to the waiter who told us next time we shouldn't order items we don't like. To top it off every time the waiter would walk by our table he would use extreme profanity under his breath and called my friend obscene names 4 different times. When we confronted the situation we were verbally attacked by the owners & waitstaff, kicked out (before our less than average entrees were even finished being eaten) and continued to be yelled at as we reluctantly paid our tab and then called names as we were waiting for the valet to bring our vehicles. Never in my life have I experienced such rude, immature behavior from business owners...we will never go back to Ibiza, The Lounge or Catalan. These establishments lost 12 faithful patrons that evening...we have spread our incident to all we know who put this restaurant on a pedestal like we all used to. Such a shame....

I enjoy Ibiza and can always count on a great meal. Cheese plate and wine selections are plentiful. The wine selection is also well priced. I usually enjoy their steak or a seafood dish and have never been disappointed. The chocolate bread pudding is amazing. the service is ok, but they all seem to know their wine menu, for the most part. Large parties that expect great service are idiots, bringing out food for 12+ ppl should just get caterer or reserve a private room somewhere. the lighting is dim which i like and it is loud, but i wouldnt want to fall asleep. good place for a first date and the lounge next door is beautiful.

Ibiza's food this past Friday night was terrible. The crab bisque is supposed to be a speciality? It was so salty I couldn't eat more than one bite. The chef really needs to taste the soup before it leaves the kitchen. If it's possible, however, I think the beef tenderloin entree was worse. While the steak was barely cooked despite being ordered medium rare, the potato was burnt and the vegetables were overdone as well. Finally, the cookie plate was largely what you'd expect from a plastic carton at Kroger. I have to say the crab cake appetizer was very good. But it was the lone bright spot in a seriously disappointing evening.

We dined in Ibiza on an evening when the weather was nice and not too chilly. So we couldn't quite decide if we should take advantage of the outdoor dining or stay inside. We decided to dine inside and luckily we ended up by the window near the entry to the outdoor dining area. The place was dimly lit, having a sensual, earthy atmosphere. The waiter recommended the crab bisque which was heavenly. The entrees were good, but what I really liked was the mocha bread pudding and the tres leches cake - wow! Bread pudding is not even one of my favorites to begin with. I highly recommend those two desserts. The place is pricey, yet not over-the-top ridiculous. The only thing lacking was the service. We got seated right away, but our waiter could have been more attentive.... actually, a lot more. And he was not at all professional. He seemed to be more fit to serve at a fast-food counter.... actually, he should not be in the service industry at all. I wish I remembered his name so he could get a schooing from the owner. But oh well, I would still go back, even if to get the bread pudding to go.

I have to say our waiter Wes was fabulous and very knowledgeable about wine. I went with my mom bestfriend and her mom. The restaurant was quite empty although it was bad weather and a week night. How you can screw up a wedge salad I'm not sure, but they did it. The dressing was very odd. The halibut special was bland and our dessert "The Daisy" was BORING. Giving credit to Wes he did reccommend the Bread Pudding but not being a fan we opted for the daisy. Big mistake. The platting was lovely but I would call two cookies ontop of another and bad sorbet anything to write home about. Maybe it was just an off night but I have to tell you I wont be returning.

Had dinner at Ibiza this past tuesday night and it truly amazes me how those guys are always on point. Love the piquillo peppers and the shrimp dish. Service was great, food was great and i have always loved thier wine list. It is a testament to the guys that run this place, to be that good all the time. They are the new long term standard for houston restaurants.

It annoys me when I read reviews of people saying that they waited a long time for their bar drinks. It's a wine restaurant. Wine goes good with food. They should just get rid of those bar carts. If you want to get drunk..go to the lounge next door. If they choose to take reservations for large parties, they should give that server a max of 3 tables so they can actually give good, attentive service. Most of their servers don't know what the wines taste like because Ibiza isn't going to spend money on letting them try them. Most of their wine talk is BS. The manager Shawn is ignorant. What on the menu, other than the Paella, (which is the worst I've had) is actually Spanish? There grade of meat is lower than select. The food is nothing special. The only thing I like is the homemade cake, which isn't even made in their home. The best part was the '96 Salon Champagne, but I could have had it for less. I was able to compare it to the '90 Salon that I had last year (but you wouldn't find a '90 or '88 at Ibiza). The wine prices aren't that much different from other restaurants. They get their Rombauer Chard for $19 and sell it for $48. Waugh Chard they get for $24 and sell for $51. Caymus Conundrum they get for $18 and sell for $36. Delectus Sacrashe they get for $44 and sell for $157. Plumpjack they get for $55 and sell for $360. Merry Edwards Pinot they get for $30 and sell for $85. I'd rather save the 100%-600% mark-ups and bring my own bottle to a restaurant with good food, have my chef prepare me a good meal to match my wine, pay more for a good dining experience or pay less for a good restaurant . You don't always have to spend more for good food, service, and wine. Will never return.

I read all the reviews on city search about IBIZA before attending a friend's birthday dinner on a Wednesday night. The reviews were so mixed. I didn?t know what to think, but I definitely wanted to keep an open mind. Well let me tell you. The wine list- impressive! Food ? pretty good I guess. Service ? don?t expect too much. Our table of 8 was seated but we sat there for 30 minutes wondering who our waiter was. That was ridiculous. I use to be a waiter, so I know the general rule of thumb, greet your guest within the first minute or two after they have settled in. I asked what the house special was- never got an answer. My friend and I asked for a glass of white wine- instead they mistakenly gave us a bottle. I felt the waiter knew whatever type of service he gave us, he would still get at least his 15% gratituty (since we were a large party). I liked the food (peppercorn tuna was yummy) but I think I could have gotten the same food somewhere else with better service.

I don?t think I will go to IBIZA again because it?s really annoying having the whole table flag down your waiter all night for everything

We went with a party of 10 Friday night - had reservation - not seated for half hour after that -
line for small "bar cart" HUGE for a drink --- food was great - bisque best I have ever had - everyone agreed
food good - but waiter VERY cocky - almost rude - my sister never got her 2nd mixed drink - asked 3 times - and my friend never got her dessert and coffee - also - they asked 2 times if he could have them bring birthday (cotton candy with a sparkler - cute idea!) - and he said "I heard you last time you asked" - may be in wrong type of job -- we had over $600 tab - so you THINK he would be a tad nicer to us. Anyhow - almost everyone in my group said "never going back" - all because of his attitude and waiting outside - no bar to stand at for half hour....and long wait for a drink while you do wait.

What can I say? Ibiza does a great job pleasing the palette. The wine list is a book, and a good one. Great list of reds, particularly Spanish. Bottle of medium priced wine, appetizer, and entrees for under $100 a couple, wow! I will return to this venue. I definitely recommend making reservations and even specifying what part of the restaurant you prefer. I had to be slightly assertive with the hostess to be moved from being seated in the doorway. Waitstaff here is friendly and knowledgable. Enjoy!

i must admit, i was seduced by the restaurant's name, ibiza ... i've always wanted to travel to that place. this trendy restaurant is huge, but maybe a little too big to have a romantic dinner for 2 ... or for a cozy, laid-back dining experience for that matter. the wall full of wine bottles was indeed an impressive site, though. our waiter was friendly and accomodated our every whim, continually checking back with us every so often. the food was great, but i could've gotten better quality food for the same price elsewhere. i'll probably won't come back to this place ... it was a little too "yuppie" and trendy for my preference.*

I've been dining at Ibiza since they opened and it continues to be a trust worthy resturant for get togethers and celebrations. The food is never dissapointing, the service is attentive and where else in town will they bring you cotton candy on your birthday (except for their new resturant, Catalan). They only thing that would make me like this resturant better is if they had a bar area instead of a bar cart. It's nice to have a place to wait for your table.

Quite simply: This is a really enjoyable restaurant. We have eaten here on three occasions - and each time was a real delight (one was a special birthday). The service is attentive - the wait staff well trained. All of the food has a slightly different twist than you will find in most establishments; is very tasty and well prepared. Excellent wine list as well as by the glass selections. Entrees have always been excellent - but appetizers are really special treats!

This is one of our favorites spots for Saturday night dining. The food is exceptional, from the standard menu items to the daily specials, Chef owner Chareles Clark shows creativity and style in his preparations. The waiters are all well schooled on the extensive wine selection and parings with food.
Do not miss the wedge salad with special dressing it is a must.
We had the special: Flounder Filet top with two fried soft shell crabs- it was perfect.
The Tres Leches desert was one of the best we have had.

The place gets packed in the evening- reservations are a must.
Wine list is updated monthly and very extensive and the prices are best in town.

I've been on three different occasions - twice for dinner, and once for lunch. Twice I've had the beef tenderloin in red wine demi glaze, and once broiled fish. Best beef I've ever had, and I'm typically not a tenderloin fan because usually it doesn't have much flavor. Theirs is the exception. Their risotto is fantastic, too. The three times I've been I've had fantastic food, and wonderful service. And their wine list is incredibly affordable!
