The architect of the Quarry Golf Course is not to be slighted, but the course itself has its challenges with respect to the natural layout the architect had to work with. This challenge continues today with the operations of the golf

Being a local golfer, I play many of the courses in the SA area and am very familiar with The Quarry. I always feel my money is well spent because of the great year round course conditions and friendly staff. They recently introduced 10 minute tee times, which I don't believe I've seen anywhere else in the city, not even La Cantera. This creates a wonderful pace of play and a sense of relaxation that you'll be done in close to 4 hours. With the hour you save, you have time to eat in their beautiful restaurant, or hang out for happy hour with their welcoming bartenders. If you're looking for an enjoyable round of golf, The Quarry is your destination. Keep an eye out for their "Player Service" staff in their white caddie suits. Those things are just awesome! I thought I was about to play a tour event! Happy golfing!!!

The event: Bachelor party weekend...The highlight:The Quarry Golf Club!!
This place is unbelievable to say the least. We played at 830 on a Saturday, and played in 4 hours and 10 minutes! The course was in awesome shape, staff was very welcoming-even inviting us in for a round at their bar after our round! Nice touch, and best food we've ever had at a golf course-hands down! Service is top notch, like a private club...their"player services" staff even wears white logoed caddy jumpsuits! Too cool! If you are close to San Antonio, this entire experience is a must!

Pros: Incredible service, welcoming staff, and most scenic views

Cons: Wanting to buy everything in their stocked up pro shop

When I went to the Quarry for the first time, what really caught my eye was the beautiful scenery and the layout of the course. The course also proved to be a perfect balance of challenge and leisure. I was very intrigued by the courses ability to prove that good quality can be affordable.
My son and I spent a great weekend out there and we still talk about how wonderful it was. It was an incredible experience and we rank the course right up there with Pebble Beach.
The staff and personnel were very friendly and my son and I can't wait to enjoy another round.

This is a very nice golf course in the Texas Hill County. It was built in and around an old quarry so the design is interesting. The greens were in good shape and the fairways were perfect. I would recommend this course for any outing you may want to have. The layout in the quarry part of the course was interesting as to how they incorporated the quarry into the hole designs. The Quarry section of the couse can get hot in the summer so be aware of that prior to playing.

This is probably my favorite course in Texas. The back 9 is built in a rock quarry and makes for some very challenging holes. The front 9 is more wide open and a little easier. The staff is very friendly and there are always refreshments quick at hand.

Its a good course, very challenging to me. But it is a little rich for my blood. But every once in a while I get to play it. So unless you are an avid golfer, plan on being a little frustrated.

At $125/person, I expected much more from this course. The front side is a glorified pitch and putt. And next to 281 and a neighborhood. The back side is a bit tougher, with the last 3 holes being pretty good tests. For your money, go to Canyon Springs or Silverhorn, eat lunch, and buy a sleeve of balls.

PROS: Good few finishing holes
CONS: front nine weak, and overpriced for the quality

Played jan 2004: Course was in great shape, but overall I was disappointed. There are only about 4 or 5 holes on the back nine that really stand out. Regular green fees are outrageous, but they have some good specials. Didn't catch his name, but the starter was great. His one liners made me laugh. Although it's a good course, there are better courses for the money.

Although the Quarry involves natural beauty along with a nice design, La Cantera is a much better course in the San Antonio area. The value is better at the Quarry however. If I had my pick between the two, my personal pick would be La Cantera Resort Course hands down.
