I loooove Amanda!! She listens to what I want and accommodates ten fold! By far the BEST stylist I've ever had! The salon is very welcoming and they will not only offer you wine and drinks but if your hungry will give you menus of nearby restaurants .. totally amazing! I've never had a bad experience visiting this salon! Amanda is the gem of this place, book with her for sure!! Love her!

      Best Experience!

I went to this salon 2 weeks ago after searching for a new stylist. I heard about Trish at Clique in Rice village and decided to give it a try. The salon was very nice . Trish greeted me and consult about my color and cut. She was really thorough with my questions I had. I got simply color for low maintence and a layered cut. It was a very nice brown color and I Love the cut! My husband even complimented on my hair (normally he doesnt ever notices it.). Thanks Trish!!

I went to this salon on the basis of a friend's recomendation. As she has great hair, my expectations were high that I too would have a good experience. Unfortunately, that was not to be the case. The first thing I noticed was that they were playing very loud music like what you would hear in a night club which is not my idea of a relaxing atmosphere. Next, the stylist I had, Trish, didn't listen to a thing I said regarding my hair. I told her that I wanted the color to remain close to the same (it was a reddish brown) but that I wanted the color to be more intense and a deeper red. Somehow, this got translated into a want my hair copper with blonde highlights. I went back a second time to have the color corrected and while it is better, it is still not close to what I had envisioned. Worse than the color though is the actual hair cut. I explained to Trish (as I always do because I know how my hair behaves better than anyone) that my hair is curly and it shrinks considerably after it is dry. She didn't listen and cut my bangs while they were wet and cut them WAY too short and at an angle so that one piece sticks out now and the sides are curled and puffy. I can always tell when it's been too long between haircuts because I resort more often to ponytails and headbands but, I have NEVER had the expereience before of needing to resort to that for a brand new haircut. Extremely disapointed and won't be back. Don't let this woman touch your hair.

The first thing I noticed was that there was no wonderful smell when I walked in which is typical of an Aveda salon. My stylist, Trish, rushed me in and then rushed me out. It seemed she was making comments about my hair that were rude and she seemed snobby. I've never had a cut for that price and I go to Aveda always so I was very displeased when she didn't do an aromatherapy massage before my shampoo and when she acted like she was in such a hurry to cut my hair and get me out of there. While drying my hair she had the dryer on the hottest setting and wasn't moving it around and she burned my scalp in 2 areas. The manager was in the front when I left and she rudely said "thanks" and didn't even look at me when she said it. Not what I'd expect from an Aveda salon in the least. For $65 I expected a little more personalization and calming experience. I will never go back. Oh, I also asked for a $50 stylist and I got a $65 stylist, but didn't find out until they asked me to pay. This place isn't worth it. Find another!

Cons: rushed experience, no massage, no aromatherapy, expensive

I have been to this salon before and have had some mixed experiences with haircuts and highlights, but this last experience was the last straw. I had the worst color experience ever. Not only did they not listen to my request, they were obviously reticent in how they did the hair color. My hair was a disaster with patches of different colored hair that was inconsistent throughout. Worst of it all, the stylist told me that there was no issue with the color and that it looked fine. I left the salon to meet friends, and they could not believe that a stylist would let me walk out without trying to fix this disaster. Never again!

I am usually not much of a complainer. I am a physician and way too busy to take time out of my day to write a review. However, I decided it was my duty as a consumer to warn fellow patrons of my HORRIBLE experience. My first visit to Clique in the Village was for a simple trim and color touch up which no one could really screw up. Trish was my stylist, and she advised me that since I had a hectic schedule she was willing to come to my home and do my hair. She also told me that she would charge almost 50% less than if I were to come into the salon.
Trish told me she was a master stylist, and I assumed I could trust her. So I took Trish up on her offer, and it was the worst mistake I have ever made. Trish arrived at my home, and I asked her for a layered-cut and highlights. She acted hurriedly and sloppily. She left me with choppy hair and blotchy, brassy sections which were falling out. I asked her to fix it, but she continued to butcher it. The next day I called Clique to see if I could come in for a repair, and they said they would call me back to schedule. I still have not heard from them. I couldn't wait for them to make time for me so I went to another salon and they were flabbergasted by the condition Trish left my hair. They noted that my hair was severely damaged. And they couldn't understand what kind of cut Trish was trying to achieve because there was no uniformity.
Take it from me fellow patrons...Clique salon has poorly trained stylists who cannot be trusted especially Trish. And Clique management...beware of your stylists undercutting your business while giving you a bad name. The positive reviews posted for her are guaranteed to be her friends. I would never recommend Trish.

I have been searching Houston trying to find a good stylist for the last few months. I was encouraged by the positive reviews and booked my appointment. The only positive thing about this salon is that the receptionist promptly got me a glass of water.

The stylist rushed me in and out lightening fast. I arrived at 5:00 and was out the door at 5:19. It seemed the only thing she was concerned about was getting me out of there as soon as possible. Scissors were wielded in a haphazard way and she put no effort towards achieving a good haircut. It looked decent in the mirror from a distance while sitting in the chair, but when I got home random hairs were sticking up all over the place. The worst thing about was that she messed up the neckline. That is absolutely unacceptable.

$42 plus tip for a men's haircut is expensive. I expect to get what I pay for and this place does not deliver. I bet I could get a better haircut at a barber shop for $8. Do yourself and favor and don??t book an appointment here.

The beginner stylist cost me about 28 if I remember correctly. He SUCKED. The left side of my head was slightly shorter than the right side. He took absolutely forever. He starting massaging me while washing my hair, which made me feel somewhat uncomfortable, being a guy. He really had no idea as to how to approach my thick hair. I didn't come out looking terrible but I didn't come out look good and if you looked closely nothing was even. He also tried to get me to buy some wax from him which was quite annoying. I really did like the oil they put on my neck to shaving it wouldn't cause any irritation.

In summary, don't go to beginner stylists. They really are beginners. Just because they are working at a high end salon doesn't mean they are any better "beginners" than the ones at say Visible Changes or the like (but at least he didn't rush you out like them). I can't comment on any other stylists however.

I have been coloring my hair since I was in high school. I have been to various different types of salons and had various different types of stylists work on my hair.
I began coming to Clique in 2003 and have never looked back. I have NEVER been stopped and asked where I get my hair done so much as since Amanda Gernander has been my stylist. Literally strangers stop me. In an extreme situation, someone took a picture of my hair in a grocery store so they could show their stylist. I gave her a Clique card in case the person she was so loyal to couldn't work it out.
Everytime I go, I get more business cards so that when people stop me, I can direct them to Clique.
What I appreciate is that not only is the quality of the work great from my stylist, I would trust anyone in there if she was busy. They are obviously very particular about who they hire.
I am recommending them because it is really hard to find people that can do really great color. As a total bonus, the cuts are just as amazing and the service and products are top quality. If you have not been to Clique....you are missing out!

I have been trying for 6 years to find a salon that can work with thinning hair. I was referred to Clique by a lady I was talking to in line at Central Market. The appt. was great. I did not have to wait and was treated to the best shampoo. No one has ever washed my hair and given me a neck massage at the same time. Amanda gave me a cut and color that really appeared to thicken my hair. The real test was I was able to fix it myselt. Yes... I will be going back again and again.

I'm a guy that is somewhat pickey about my hair. I've been to this salon 5 or 6 times now and I'm always happy. They listen to what I have to say and give me a little imput. I have been able to get in the day I call everytime. I been to 3 different people now and they were all great. The best thing has to be the shampoo, they give a great head massage and then massage your shoulders... it's awesome!

I heard about this salon from a friend after having many frustrating hair experiences. I'm a blond (well was when I was a kid and try to keep it that way) and it's hard to get the right blond. After talking to my stylist she colored my hair the perfect blond. Not crazy bleach out blond, just light enough but still natural looking. Then gave me a great haircut with some new fun bangs. It was great from beginning to end. I even got to relax with a glass of wine! I love this place and my new bangs!

Trish is by far the most incredible and fun hair dresser EVER! She's the only person in the state of Texas & Louisiana that I let touch my hair. She listens to what I want, keeps me entertained, and I always leave the salon feeling satisfied. I love this stylist and I highly recommend it to anyone!

I really enjoyed my visit to Clique Salon. I was greeted immediately as I walked in. The staff were knowledgeable and welcoming. The front desk girl already knew who I was even though it was my first appointment! The environment was modern but inviting and also clean. I liked that they didn't have products advertised everywhere. Conversations were also minimal, I can not tell you how many salons i've been to where it's complete chaos and I leave knowing more than I should know. Trish was also available and took me thirty minutes earlier than my scheduled appointment. Go to Clique Salon!!

I love Tracine. I've had a few stylists at Clique, but she is by far my favorite. I have finally found someone in Houston that I can sit down in her chair and just say, "Cut and color my hair!" and she makes it happen.

Honestly, I think she has ESP, because no matter how terribly I explain what I want, she manages to give me flattering cuts. She's also the kind of stylist who will definitely tell you if something will not look good on you (Thanks for stopping me in my "I want to be a platinum blonde phase)...

One more comment: I had color done a few months ago, and had women complimenting me on my highlights when my color was 8 weeks old. I had brutal roots (or so I thought!) but the way she colored my hair it obviously had longevity! Also, she doesn't push the product all up in your face, so although I buy product from her, I never feel uncomfortably pressured to do so!

Being a native of Southern California, I have visited my share of supposedly 5 star salons that overpromise and underdeliver. Many tend to be cutting edge, yet have a cold, pretentious environment.

While down in Houston on business, I was fortunate enough to have someone suggest I visit Clique. Although it seemed a bit small and crowded when I walked in, I was immediately made to feel as welcome as a lifelong client. Never mind the bustle - I had made an appointment with James a few hours prior to the appointment , and was even taken in a few minutes early. Unheard of!

Suffice it to say that I was pleased with the style, the hot towel treatment, and the conversation. Everyone was genuinely warm and friendly and seemed like a family that WANTED to be there!

While I rarely take the time to write reviews, I must give kudos to Clique for the 5 1/2 star treatment. Positively recommended!

I'm a guy who isn't use to going to a high end salons, the staff is very friendly and they take the time to get to know their clients. Amanda (director) is great, she did exactly what asked for!! Nothing more nothing less but she is little more expensive....well worth it for a special occasion. Trish is someone I would normally get my haircuts with, shes more affordable and and does a great job. In my case, I came in with a specific look and she gave great insight on how to achieve it. Overall, I will never go back to the cheaper haircut salons and look forward to being a longterm customer at Clique.

I love this place! My blonde always looks gorgeous and fresh, not yellow like other places I have been to. I love the customer service and glass of chardonnay I always receive. I have been to several different stylists, and they are all great. I believe they just opened a 2nd location in the new Houston Pavilions by McCormicks and Schmicks. I have not been yet, but I had a friend go and she loved it. I will definitely continue to get my hair done at Clique Salon.

I'm just a typical guy who always go to cheap fast cut. But i was in the village and just walked it to clique salon. The front desk was very friendly more than i'm use to i ask for the price and find that it was fairly reasonable for a man's cut. Trish my stylist came to work her magic on me not only did i get my hair up to dated they also rinse all the loose hair off me. Most places didn't do that. Now i'm hooked. If your a guy don't get scared just walk in you'll enjoy your experience. You get much more than a fast cut!

I had Clique recommended by a friend and tried out the Rice Village location a few months ago. I don't know if the owner (James) was being ironic calling the salon Clique...because the girls working there make you feel like you're back in middle school and aren't one of the popular kids. Still, the stylist I had (Kim) was fantastic - very genuine, listened to what I want and made some suggestions when I asked about a new look.
I moved when Kim shifted to their new store in Houston Pavillions and definitely prefer it. They've only got a couple of stylists there along with the owner, and are much friendlier and welcoming than in the Rice store. The place has a very cool setup too, very modern and industrial looking with good artwork.
One issue I have is that everytime I get a cut there they push their Aveda products on you. I don't know if its store policy or the stylists just trying to boost their commission, but it can be a little galling after shelling out $70 for a cut.

I showed up to my first appointment and was greeted coming in the door by a cute receptionist with a big smile. Shortly after a tall blonde with a short sassy hair cut, walked up and introduced herself. She, Amanda Burleson, talked with me about my hair, she listened to what I wanted, and offered her own ideas with excitement. Shampoo came next, with scalp and neck massage (AHHHH!). The cut was everything she promised and the conversation was engaging.

I enjoyed the experience and booked a returning appointment to see Amanda B. as I left.

This was my first experience in a "real salon" I have always gone to those low cost Vietnamese salons.

I have been going to Clique for almost 2 years and have never had a bad experience. I usually just get a haircut, and Trish is great. I can rely on her for cute cuts and style, friendly conversation, and attention to detail. She even sent a baby gift to me before my son was born! The couple of times I had color processing, I was very pleased. I cannot share with some other reviewers' experiences with lack of professionalism. Although I have never had to complain, the front staff has always been friendly and attentive to me.

My stylist, Amanda, consulted with me about my hair-- she was very receptive to what I wanted, and offered he own ideas in a very professional manner.
