Purchased a 2012 Shelby GT500. Paid full sticker price. Upon delivery, vehicle had a nick in the console and discoloration in the bezel around the navigation screen. Ford denied warranty service to correct these problems. Dealer

I was given the name of a salesman at Tommie Vaughn Ford - David Bagby and I made the call. He was the opposite of a "typical car salesman". It was the first time I have ever bought a car and felt good about it when I left confident in the purchase. They have a family feel when you go in and it was a very refreshing experience considering the service at various establishments in this day and age.

I would strongly recommend this dealership (and already have) to anyone looking at purchasing a vehicle. We will definitely be back for future purchases.

Pros: Best car buying experience I have ever had

Cons: My husband was not allowed to touch the $200K '32 Ford :-)

I went to Tommie Vaughn Ford to look at a specific new vehicle. I already had two offers from other dealerships (one inside the city, one out). The people at Tommie Vaughn were very nice, relaxed, and generally made the experience of trying out the car a good one.

However, when it came to negotiating a purchase price, the typical dealer shenanigans kicked in. They started throwing around numbers to make it look like they were offering a good deal, but in actuality were trying to charge me MSRP with zero discount whatsoever (they claimed they were giving me a discount, but were calculating the vehicle price as 1000 more than the actual MSRP). When I told them about the other offers, they claimed that those offers were probably not real, and that no dealer could sell a car at that price without losing money. That was an obvious lie; dealers pay less than "invoice" for their cars due to the dealer holdback. The other dealers were offering the car at invoice, which means they got ~4% profit (Consumer Reports publishes the dealer holdback so you can calculate the actual profit).

I went to the other dealer, got the car at the price they had promised over the phone (invoice + options), had just as good an experience as I did at Tommie Vaughn, and saved three thousand dollars. I'm sure buying a car at Tommie Vaughn is a great experience - at the prices they charge it has to be.

THIS IS A REVIEW OF SERVICE DEPARTMENT ONLY BEWARE I AM ONLY WRITING THIS TO ENSURE IT DOESNT HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE my keys were stolen at a store; due to the engine's dependence on microchip in my key, my spare wouldn't work. I was told they would tow it by five pm...four days(was holiday weekend) later i call to get my truck and find out the jeerrrrk 'forgot' to have it towed before he left and it was stolen! when i reported it, the cop screwed up report and i wasn't notified for 28 days!!! that it had been recovered two days after. $1500 to get it out and i had it towed to tommy vaugn again with the addition of a broken window and damaged window motor.when i went to pick up my truck they took 20 min to find it and AGAIN 'FORGOT' to fix the recalled ignition switch and they ALSO WROTE MY MILEAGE DOWN WRONG AND WHEN I WENT TO HAVE THE REAIRS REPAIRED AGAIN (LAME) ABOUT 9 MONTHS LATER...THEY WOULDN'T HONOR THE WINDOW'S MOTOR'S WARRENTY BECAUSE I HAD WENT PAST THE 12000 MILES(OR 12 MONTHS) BY 60000 MILES!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!@!! NO ONE DRIVES 60000 MILES IN LESS THAN 9 MONTHS!!!! THESE GUYS HAVE THERE HEAD SO FAR UP THERE A**!

I buy Ford autos because of Tommie Vaughn. There are other great cars on the market, but there is only one Tommie Vaughn Ford. My last several purchases have been pretty much by telephone. No hassle, no games, easy transactions and extremely fair prices. The sales folks are now like family to me, and the service folks treat you as if you were their only customer. Highly recommended !

Pros: Old style family dealership with excellent sales and service staff.

Cons: Wish Ford would produce Escape Hybrids a little faster.
