From the time we stepped in the door and talked to the receptionist until we left, we were treated so rudely. We did not find out our sales reps name until she handed us her card as we were leaving. She was so rude to my daughter (the bride). There was no way we would buy from them at all.

She also trashed the first place we went (Ventura's) - which was wonderful and where we went back and got the dress. (btw - the dress cost the same both places and we got the 10% discount at Venturas also for buying that day).

I can't believe a place of business would treat their customers like this and from the reviews on here I can see we are not the only ones.

First of all let me start with the ladies that complain about not being able to bring their babies/children in the store; ladies the website explicitly states on the welcome page that children under 12 are not allowed in the store... if you had done your homework you would have known this and saved yourselves some time and frustration. Furthermore if you think it is not reasonable then by all means, solicit another bridal salon. I have a two year old and I certainly wouldn't want to take him or an infant to the store- it's supposed to be fun girl time, not mommy time. Whew- I'm done.
As for my experience, I had a great one. My consultant was Nicole and she was amazing. She showed me what they had and where and then I showed her some things I liked and she pulled SEVERAL dresses for me and helped me with each and every one of them. After I found nothing I loved in the first batch she let me and people from my party pull more dresses and it was then that I found my dress. She was patient, kind and honest about how the dresses looked when I asked her opinion. I did not feel overly pressured by her but I did feel some pressure from the manager. I wasn't planning on buying a dress that day but I knew it was THE dresss and they really try to reel you in with the 10% discount if you buy the dress that day so be prepared. Also, I understand that they determine your dress size depending on your biggest measurement and I understand why- there's nothing they can do about a dress that is *gasp* too small so be understanding of that. Also understand that you do not HAVE to order the size they recommend. Anyhow I had a great experience and I highly reccomend it to everyone.

Pros: Great selection, great customer service

Cons: Far from my house in Houston

I Originally picked this salon to visit because it is close to Katy where I live. When I arrived I sat down and no one said anything to me for at least 10 minutes! Then, they took my water bottle from me because of their "delicate merchandise.". After that I was expecting very high quality. Well my stylist was Jean and she must have been at least 65 years old, which would be okay if she knew what was in style and was quick. However, she was horrible. She didn't help me in and out of any gowns, didn't suggest any others, wouldn't let me try veils on and didn't even say bye when I left.

Anyways, back to the gowns. Everything was very torn up and trashy looking. Beading was hanging off the gowns, tears and rips etc. The store looks like they attempted to make it classy but failed miserably. There was even styrofoam underneath the floor length mirrors to protect the floor.. How about getting them hung?? Ugh I was just so aggravated I left. I could never imagine purchasing my wedding gown there, everyone that does is missing out on all the wonderful stores in Houston!

Also, when I was leaving one of the girls behind the counter was eating a sandwich and talking to customers at the same time. I couldn't bring my water in though?

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with any place that considers themselves a business. My friend and I decided to come to this store because we heard such great things about it. Guess what? We walk into the store and barely get a foot inside and we see a nice sweet little sign that says "No strollers, no kids, no kidding... " We drove for 2 hours to get to this store, I happened to have my 6 month old baby with me.... shame on me!? Seriously!? When we asked if it was ok if we just carried her into the store the girl actually had the nerve to say "sorry, we don't allow children in the store, you can leave her at the edge of the tile...." Are these people for real? Children is one thing, a baby that can't walk, talk, or even exist on it's own that's just plain stupid and really really DUMB business sense.... just be warned if you want to walk in this CRYSTAL FREAKING PALACE don't bring your baby, or even your embryos....
Guess what store owners -WOMEN shopping for dresses are likely to have small children, babies, or oh guess what a flower girl!? Just maybe they might be in the WEDDING!? I'm pretty sure all of my facebook friends that see this, and all of their friends, etc... won't be visiting your CRYSTAL PALACE... god forbid the small people step foot on our floors..... WTF!??

Pros: They have dresses...

Cons: Rudest, snootiest, absolutely ridiculous customer service

My experience has been with my sister-in-law, the bride. We had an appointment (it's appt. only) over a month in advance, drove up with all the women in the family from out-of-town, and I was not admitted because I brought my nursing, immobile baby. As MANY others have said here, they were totally rude about it, and give me a break, who do they think they are anyway? While I cooled my heels elsewhere for over four hours, my sil and all the family picked out thousands of $$ worth of dresses, only to then be told they don't handle flower girls, period, so she had to go searching for those somewhere else. Additionally the "salon" didn't even offer them champagne, drinks, anything--I've gotten better service at a nail salon. They are so paranoid about their "sensitive" merchandise. Well guess what, Neiman's doesn't treat the customer like this. After everything, they also made my sil make appointments for her fittings and so forth, and wouldn't even accomodate the days/times she needed because they are so special and busy. BOTTOM LINE: There are lots of bridal salons out there, and I would recommend bypassing this one for one that caters to the customer, not the other way around.

I went to Weddings By Debbie to get a prom dress 5 years ago and had a great experience, I then went to Weddings by Debbie to get my weddings dress, I had an even better experience. they have the best selection in the city and the best service. the only problem with alot of these websites is that not enough people who great experiences get on the web and tell people, it is only the people who did not. which is sad. This was a great experience for me and all of my 4 sisters who all got their prom dresses and wedding dresses!!!! go there it will be worth the trip!

WbD was a great place to shop. They have the BIGGEST selection I've ever seen. Trust me, this place is awesome! My consultant was so knowledgeable and was able to help me find the perfect dress. The best part is there were no kids allowed. I know some people don't like this, but I found it refreshing that kids weren't putting their sticky hands all over the dresses I wanted to try. I went to another place and watched as a kid ran through the store and ripped a dress right in front of me!

When I purchased my dress I got 10% off since it was my first visit. They also gave me a contract that detailed what my expected alterations costs were and all the other information I would need to know about getting my dress pressed, any cleaning if I needed it, etc. So well organized!

I would recommend this store to anyone looking for a dress. They really know what they are doing and so wonderful!

If they don't allow children, then how would you pick out dresses for your junior bridesmaids or flower girls? I won't ever go there, they think they "stuff" doesnt stink! My rating is a big NEGATIVE star.

My niece sheduled an appointment for her bridal gown and one for her "10" bridesmaid. When we arrived to the door with my 6 month nephew, we weren't even greeted with an Hello, they stopped short of the door closing behind and said Children are not allowed. Very very rude and snoppish! my niece asked why didn't they tell her on the phone when she made the appointment, and they said they most certainly did tell her, I understand that there are rules, but not one of the salepeople there even tried to be nice about it, just plain RUDE. I would never recommend this place to anyone! There's too many other bridal places where customers are treated with politness!

This was the worst experience my daugters and I have ever had anywhere! My daughter called on Friday to make an appointment on Saturday. When we arrived we had my 6 month old grandson with us. The moment we entered the lobby area with the stroller Becky (or Betty?)behind the counter immediately said "we do not allow children in here". My daugher asked why she didn't tell her ths on the phone yesterday and Becky said I tell everyone that every day and continued to smile a smerky little smile bowing her head up and down. We had come as far as Friendswood and Galveston. Another employee came up and said that is there policy. I can understand they have rules, but they way they treated us was disgusting! Becky practically called my daughter a liar, then they asked if we wanted to reschedule, I said absolutely not, we are cancelling! If they would have handled it another way, like apologize, or suggest that maybe they forgot to tell us, then we may have rescheduled, but they are very snobbish and I would never, ever recommend that place to anyone! The only reason why I rated this one star is because there is no option to rate it NEGATIVE.

So my mom was a little weary of making an appointment there after reading all the reviews, but after my terrible experiences that Saturday I didn't think it could get worse... and I was right, it only got better!

I was on time for my appointment, however I had been trying to sell my car all week and the guy finally showed up just as I had arrived at WBD and met me in the parking lot. WBD was very understanding and let me run out to make the transaction. My assistant was very nice, and pointed out different things about different lines, and designers as she gave me a tour of the store. She was very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable (see my terrible review of the horror of a sales lady at David's Bridal).

As a plus size bride finding a dress that I liked, made me look good and was affordable was a big challenge. But she brought me several different styles to try on after listening to what I had in mind. And I found the perfect dress.. the only dress that had made me smile all day! She was not pushy at all, and gave me some great advice and tips and trick.. I just cannot say enough good things about her.

So I decided I loved the Dress.. but they had just gotten it in that morning and my assistant was not sure the manager would sell it off the floor.. but she did! She said it was definitely MY Dress and I should take it.. the best part... the Price! and I also got a discount for buying at my first visit.

So my advice to you is check things out despite people's experience... I was ready to give up at the end of the day Saturday.. but this 4pm appointment turned out to be a wedding saver!

My experience with WBD hasn't been a great one but hasn't necessarily been horrible either. I was looking for a particular designer - St. Patrick, a Pronovias line - and WBD was the only salon that carried them. I first tried on dresses in July 2008 for my May wedding. I loved all the St. Patrick and Pronovias hip-hugging gowns, but as an average size 12 woman, I could not fit in their size 6 and size 8 sample gowns. They did not have a single gown in a size larger than 8 in these designers. Not everyone is model thin! I wanted to cry. I went back a second time to try to find something else with my mom and narrowed my search down to two dresses that I didn't love but would work so I returned a third time with my bridesmaids to pick my gown. WBD charged me a $50 fee since this was my third visit...and of course did NOT tell me before I showed up that I would be expected to pay this. But of course, it would be deducted from the price of the gown. I ended up purchasing my gown that day and was promised the dress would arrive in December 2008 or January 2009.

After several phone calls in January 2009, I finally talked to this HORRIBLE woman, Susha or something, who snottily told me my dress was to be shipped mid-February and I would be notified when it arrived at the store. They had apparently waited three weeks after I ordered the dress to place the order with the designer. I started calling again in February to find out where my dress was. Finally, on March 2 I called and found out it was at the store. They didn't call me at all.

The alterations woman said they needed 6-8 weeks for alterations and wanted to schedule my appointment for March 13...5 weeks before the wedding. I tried explaining that this would only give them 5 weeks for alterations...she didn't get it. I made the appointment so I could at least try it on and find out it needed so we could take it somewhere else. Luckily, it fit perfect and only needed a small bustle for the sash that came off the back of the dress. She charged me $27 for that.

I had my final fitting last Saturday, April 18. I stood around for half an hour while the alterations woman ran around tending to other customers and their prom dresses. No offense...I'm waiting around in a $2000 gown...I think the prommers can wait. She finally got time to tend to me, told me it looked great, then told me to take it off. She was there for all of 2 minutes.

I'm picking the gown up this Friday from their pressing department whom does not speak English and have read that I will be expected to pay $12 for a garment bag which makes me very unhappy.

The plus - I have a beautiful gown and can't wait to wear it. The downside - I had to jump through the appropriate hoops at a store 45 minutes away to wear it.

I would really recommend going somewhere else.

I came in to try on and maybe purchase a second wedding gown. When I first came in I waited a good 10-15 mins before my consultant was ready to help me. There was no one in the store, it was a thursday afternoon!

When I finally got a consultant I explained to her that this is my second wedding dress since I ended up HATING my first dress and really want to think it over before jumping the gun again. She started to show me around and asked me what kind of dresses I have in mind and what I would like to try on.

The store is wonderful. It's really pretty and the dresses are nice and oranganized by designers. I told her what I was looking for and she took me to a certain designer and then asked about my budget and walked me to another designer. She kept picking dresses that that nothing to do with what I describe that I wanted.

We ended up with 2 dresses in the dressing room and I didn't like any of them! She told me to wait for her as she left to go look for more dresses. She kept coming back with dresses that I didn't even want to LOOK at, but she kept saying that the hangers kills the dresses and begged me to try it on and if I didn't like it she would take it off.

At the end I found the dress I wanted, but she told me that if I bought it then and there she would give me the 1st time fitting discount and if I didn't buy it that day then I would lose the opportunity of the discount.

Being that it was my second dress, I wanted to sleep on it and make sure that this will be the dress. She told me that if I come back for a 3rd fitting she should have to charge me for a fee so if I come back another day I should be ready to buy the dress.

I ended up not coming back and getting the dress at Ventura's.

Pros: alot of gowns to choose from, very nice consultants

Cons: pushy, really wants to make a sale

.

I went to the salon because I've always heard they have the most selection...and they do, but I'ts overwhelming and the sales people make you try on dresses that they think you'll like but you dont. I ended up wasting ALOT of time here....I suggest going to Winnie Couture...thats where I got mine, and its beautiful!!!!! :)

Pros: Vast Selection of ugly dresses

Cons: pushy sales ladies; high end, ugly dresses

When first arrival at the store, they have a very vast assortment of dresses. The staff is friendly and helpful HOWEVER, I inquired as to the difference in price on a gown that came in either silk or taffeta. Since I liked both fabrics, I figure I would go for the cheaper of the two. The salesperson/manager (who is the daughter of the owner) claimed there was no difference in price- aproximately, $1859.00.

First off, after research, most retailers sell the dress around $1500.00 IN SILK.
Secondly, I found the taffeta dress at other retailers as HALF the price of the silk dress.

Had I not researched this, they would have pocketed a minimum of $600 OFF THEIR ALREADY RAISED PRICES! I DO NOT LIKE BEING LIED TO SO THEY CAN POCKET MONEY! They just lost A LOT of business! My cousin is getting married next yr, as well as a few other friends who will inform other friends. So a minimum of 5 women from just me, will not be going to this store.

I highly recommend Venturas! Their staff is very helpful and they are honest about their prices.

My daughter purchased her gown at Weddings by Debbie in Sept. of 2007 for her Oct. 2008 wedding. Their selections were excellent. Their accessories over priced. You have to sign your life away when purchasing the gown. She was measured at that time for her gown size. When she went for her first fitting the gown was totally out of proportion for her. They pinned the gown and unwillingly made some changes my daughter requested. When she went to the front to sign the paper (yet again) for the alterations she was charged over $400.00! She talked it over with me and also a co-worker who provided her with the name of a wonderful seamstress in Houston and after some consideration my daughter called Weddings by Debbie and asked them not to do the alterations but to leave the pins in. she was told she would be charged for the pinning ($54.00) AND they wouldn't leave the pins in as it was their work product. So we paid $54.00 for the pins but couldn't keep the work! She took her gown to a seamstress who specializes in wedding gowns and was charged one-half what Weddings by Debbie charged and she made changes that were never suggested to my daughter at Weddings by Debbie to make the gown more proportional to her petite size. Overall, I would recommend Weddings by Debbie for their large stock and wide range of prices but definitely take the gown elsewhere for alterations...and oh yes, they charge you 12.00 for a garment bag after you have spent all that money on your gown, veil, jewerly etc. I purchased a blazer in a chain retail store and was given a garment bag for free. They should reconsider that fee!!!

First I will give credit for the largest assortment of beautiful gowns in Texas. BUT.... all of the oldest sales tricks in the book are used. The sales woman starts by giving you a tour and pointing out the latest (most expensive) dresses that they "just got in." When you start to try on the gowns (she will be in the room with you so dont be shy!), the sales woman will make sure the most expensive dress is the one you try on first, so that the others will not measure up. While she is in the room with you, she will check out your ring and ask you what you and your fiance do for a living (hmmm, wonder why?) Then, when she realizes that you want to go with the dress that cost the least and may even be from the forbidden "sale" section, the service will dwindle to her leaving you completely alone! YES, you read right, once you decide on a less expensive dress she will pass you on to another person that will rush you to the register for payment. To further chip at your dignity, if you do not want to buy the $400 veil and $400 head piece and $200 petti coat, they will not even thank you or congratulate you on finding your gown. Oh, and as a partying gift, they will place your gown in their pink garmet bag and then tell you it cost $12, unless you want them to take it out and place it in a clear dry cleaning bag. YES, $12 for a garmet bag after you just spent thousands of dollars on your dream gown. Oh, and NO NOT get your dress altered there. They charge double what a seamstress charges and take twice as long. Since you have to order every dress and pay so many hiden fees to do so, I would buy a dress from their discontinued section, ask for a 25% discount and then take it to a local seamstress for alteration. My advice, when shopping there, buyer beware and do not be afraid to say NO THANK YOU>

Pros: Huge selection of high quality gowns

Cons: Over priced, service, cramped (low ceilings, small fitting room), hidden costs

I really disagree with some of the reviews that people have said. For example, I did not have to sign anything that said I would pay for additional visits and everyone was very personable and friendly. They also seemed very knowledgable about the dresses. I went first on a Saturday and then came back later that day (not during my appt time) to look at the dresses again and everyone was fine with it. I even retried a couple of them on. They do require appointments, but I think that is generally a good thing.

In additiona to the service, I they had a wonderful selection of designer dresses. Their price range is from $1000 to about $10,000. I was specifically looking for a designer and they were the only ones in Houston that I found carried it. Overall, a good experience and I would recommend it.

My daughter and I visited this store because a friend had purchased her daughter's dress and bridesmaids' dresses here. We had to wait over 25 minutes for our "associate" and then were taken on a long, long, long tour of the racks. The racks were very full which made it difficult to see the dresses. This was our 3rd store so we had an idea of what we were looking for. The associate did find a dress that was a good match to my daughter's perfect dress but when we were not "thrilled" with some of the features, the associate argued with us and pointed out why we were wrong. I realize it was late on a Saturday but it is so much fun to argue with the person who is supposed to be helping you. Our party included a grandmother and my younger daughter. The multiple piercings and tattoos on our associate were a little scary. I know those are "in" but I'm not sure a wedding salon is the place for them to be so visible. I'm just speaking as a mom and from the grandmother's point of view. We fled as soon as we could.

Pros: Certainly have a great deal of stock to choose from if you can get to it.

Cons: Cranky staff, crowded, long sales spiel,

I have been to several bridal salons and Weddings by Debbie was by far and away the worst of the ones I visited. I had someone tell me they got their dress at WBD so I expected a good experience. From the very beginning, everyone I interacted with at WBD was impersonal and aggressive. Before you even see a consultant, they make you sign a form that says that after a certain number of visits you will pay a fee for additional appointments. This is the only place I've ever heard of this. The consultant I was assigned to was 15 minutes late to come get me from the waiting room for my appointment. The consultant INSISTED on coming into the dressing room with me. Again, this is the ONLY place this happened. I even asked her if it would be ok if my mom came in to help me, which is what we did at every other salon, but she said they were not allowed to leave us alone to put the dresses on without their help. (The dresses are in pretty poor shape so their policy doesn't actually help keep their dresses in good condition.) The dressing room was the size of a small closet, the consultant never stopped talking, sometimes leaving me standing in my bra and underwear in front of her listening to her ridiculous stories, she never seemed concerned that I was uncomfortable and she smelled like she had just smoked a pack of cigarettes (which I assume is why she was late to our appointment). She was very aggressive about buying a dress soon because my wedding was 6 months away and I might not get one in time (other salons told me I had plenty of time) and everytime I tried to look in the mirror, I had to peek around other brides because it was so crowded. The whole store just feels chaotic and crowded. Even though some of their dresses are expensive (and they do have a wide range), the experience is so shabby that everything feels cheap. I bought my dress someplace else and LOVED the dress, the place and the people...especially after this awful afternoon I spent at Weddings by Debbie.

My friend and I (both brides) made two appointments on a Saturday. This was our 4th bridal shop stop in the last few weeks, and unfortunately, was our worst experience. We arrived, dressed in cute, but casual outfits (yes, I had on flip flops, but with a cute sundress), and filled out the standard form on what styles of dresses we liked, etc. The store is overwhelming with hundreds and hundreds of dresses. It's huge. The two women appointed to us quickly pointed out that the store was organized by designer. And? then they left, telling us to pull out any dresses we liked and hang them on the miscellaneous hooks around the room. ?Oh, and by the way, you and your friend's dressing rooms are across the giant store from each other.? What? Was there a point to filling out the form? Is there a good place to start here? Help? Anything?
Overwhelmed, we dug into the racks (that were PACKED with dresses, you had to fight to even pull them out to look at them), and after 15 minutes, we were snootily asked "You've only found ONE dress?!? We are the biggest bridal store IN TEXAS, surely you can find ANOTHER dress!" So, did she stop to help us? No. Just left. So, we finally tried on a few dresses, traipsing all the way across the store to show them to each other. My assigned saleswoman, Jean, definitely knew her stuff, and was very helpful IN the dressing room. But, she was also helping about 4 other brides. She's good at helping - she's an expert, I get that. But she made no effort to really help me find any dresses other than the 4 I tried on. Also, my friend's wedding is soon. She needs to find a dress ASAP. She knows this. Instead of being helpful about this fact, her saleswomaan was pushy and rude about it.
You would think that 2 brides, that are friends and are bridesmaids in each other?s weddings (that?s 4 dresses!), with no real budget, would be a sought after sale for someone that works on commission. Guess not.

I PAYED 250$ FOR A RUSH DELIVERY WEDDING GOWN. NO ONE CALLED ME WHEN IT ARRIVED AND BY THE TIME I FOUND OUT MY DRESS WAS THERE ( BY CALLING THEM MYSELF) IT WAS TOO LATE TO DO WEDDING PHOTOS AND WE HAVE NOW CHANGED THE DATE OF THE WEDDING TO ACCOMIDATE. THERE IS NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES OF COURSE SO I HAD TO WAIT FOR THE GOWN TO COME IN. AFTER TRYING ON MY DRESS WITH THE HEADPEICE, I REALIZED IT WAS THE WRONG ONE AND THEY WOULD NOT REFUND ME EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM THERE WAS NOT ANY DOUBT IN MY MIND I PICKED ANOTHER HEADPEICE. THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME TOUGH LUCK AND THAT I COULD NOT GET A REFUND. NOW I AM STUCK WITH A HEADPEICE THAT I DON'T WANT. I CRIED THE WH OLE WAY HOME BECAUSE I WAS TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND THEY SHOULD RETURN MY 400$. I SHOULD HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED ALL THE NEGATIVE REVEIWS ABOUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE BECAUSE IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT WHEN SHOPPING FOR SOMETHING SO SPECIAL!!!

LISTEN TO ME PEOPLE!!! TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!!!

I bought my wedding dress here in August of '07 and had a wonderful experience. I also decided to get my bridesmaids dresses here and the experience was just as good. The salesperson who helped me find my dress was Jean and I would HIGHLY recommend her. She was never pushy or bossy, suggested several styles that would most flatter my figure and was very patient (I probably tried on 25-30 dresses!). I had been back to look at veils and a younger woman helped me- while she was very kind, she did not seem as knowledgeable about the merchandise. There was another sales lady (I wish I could remember her name) who was wonderful also.
Someone in a previous review had negative things to say about the alterations lady. I found her to be very good at what she does (sometimes a little blunt, but she knows what she's talking about) and did excellent work on my dress, which needed several changes.
The shop is nice because they have dresses that range in price from about $200-$6,000- you could easily find something between $700-1500 ($6000 seemed more the exception- I just stayed away from those designers).
I would highly recommend WBD, but make sure to call and make an appointment and during the week if possible- it tended to be extremely busy on weekends. And I can completely understand their "no kids" policy- it's very practical in my opinion (and I love kids). Again, ask to make your appointment with Jean if possible- she made me feel very comfortable.

Words cannot express for the lack of customer service I experienced when I walked into this store just on yesterday. Actually "no customer service" would be a better description. When I walked through the doors I found that the front desk reception had a clipboard stating that no children were allowed in the place at all. So I stood there and read this page worth of reasons why children were not allowed. This made me feel uneasy and very unwelcomed. Although I did not have any children with me; it put a bad taste in my mouth. Anyway...I continued to look around the store at different dresses and no one ever asked me if they could help me or anything. I saw 4 girls working and no one even acknowledged me. Maybe it was because I did not have on heels or dressed up. I wore regular jeans and flip flops. I was very dissappointed because I went in there to purchase a dress..and I do not have a budget. Needless to say, I will continue my search and spend my money where I feel welcomed. Note: Everything surrounds the customer --the price of the merchandise, the place, the promotion, and most of all the product. If the customer is not satisfied; there is not a purchase.

Coming from a retail management background of over 2 years, I have never witnessed such terrible and degrading customer service. The associates I manage are all between the ages of 18 and 22 and not a single one of them has ever treated a customer the way my friends and I were treated at this establishment. We came to bridesmaid dress shop as a group - 5 out of the 6 bridesmaids, the bride and her mother. While waiting in the waiting area for our bride to arrive, the front desk associate cut us off when we asked questions and could not seem to find our girl's name on the list. After we sat down to wait for her, the woman at the front was loudly complaining on the phone about another customer who was wanting to change her appointment due to a sick child. Once our bride arrived and we were allowed to shop, the service by the sales associate did not improve. We felt as if we were an imposition to the establishment and as another reviewer put it- as if we did not belong. All of us, including the mother of the bride felt that way. We were dressed nicely and were polite. The bride and her mother were severly upset about the way that we all were treated. We were barely spoken to, or acknowledged and no one even attempted to make conversation with anyone in our group. Had we not been told that the dress that we wanted would take close to 4 months to get in, we wouldn't have thought twice about purchasing elsewhere. When we did purchase 6 $200+ dresses, the service did not change at all. The associate seemed annoyed and bothered by all of us. Better service is seen in retailers with not nearly the price point! My friends and I would not usually be ones to complain but the shameful treatment by Weddings by Debbie was more than any of us had ever experienced. We did not require being waited on hand and foot, but a simple smile or courtesy would have went a long way. A customer should never be made to feel like an inconvenience, which is exactly how we felt.

Long 30 minute tour...I had an appointment an was assigned to the last dressing room with out any stands( front dressing rooms were empty- nice and had stands). They did not let my sister help me with the dress so "it won't get damaged" then... the consultant did not even attempt to zip me up the back was open until my sister zip me up. She did not want me to try dresses so that "I would not get confused". She was rushing me. I was given the wrong information. I was told it was a private collection and it took them an hour to answer my question over the phone. I called the designer's representative and they kindly informed me with the correct information "they do not have a private collection" but gave me a list of stores who sell their collections. They did not let me look at their catalog. I did not purchase my dress there!! I spoke to one of their managers and they did not care about what I had to say! I went back to a previous bridal salon who treated me with respect an bought my wedding dress. The other bridal salon allowed me to look at their catalogs and my sister was allowed to help me try on the dress. They even gave me a discount for purchasing the dress along with my other bridesmaid dresses, tuxedo, shoes, and everything else. They did not charge me for additional appointments. Please Read the small print! Read reviews before you shop I did I knew what to expect! :) Some people are NICE others are NOT! There are plenty of bridal salons to go to. Do not limit your self and shop around for the best service weather you spend $500 or $7000. You should always be treated with respect. I have 3 other friends who will also be getting married they know where not to go. A smile goes a long way! :)

Pros: Parking

Cons: Terrible service- more expensive than other stores for same brands-same dress

This place is amazing the people there are so nice and helpful. I live in Austin and it was a far drive out there but so worth it. I found my gown and it was just perfect and in my price range. They have all different styles and prices perfect for any bride to be. Thanks Weddings by Debbie.

I visited 6 bridal salons when shopping for my dress, and this place was by far the best. The selection of dresses was excellent, and the store itself was nice. My saleslady, Rebekka, was wonderful. The first time I went in, I picked a dress that they later found to be discontinued. I was heartbroken. When I returned for my second appointment, Rebekka found a dress similar to the style I wanted and reduced the price of it so that it fit my budget! It was definitely a much nicer dress. My dress came within the promised time period. No problems picking it up either. I did not use them for alterations, so i can't comment there.

My Daughter found her gown at "Weddings by Debbie" . It is the only shop that she visited. I told her she would know the dress was the right one, when she put it on. Our sales lady , Fran, was very helpful, but she let my daughter, her bridesmaids and myself pick out any dresses we wanted. My daughter knew she had found the right dress as soon as she put it on. The big surprise to me was when I went to pay for it, being this was our first visit there, we received a 10% discount. After that we went and looked at bridesmaid's dresses, we said we were only looking and they let the girls try on as many as they wanted. There was no pressure to buy. They also held the dress after her 3 fittings until 3 days before the wedding. Other mothers had told me they had to pick their daughter's dress as soon as it was ready and they had to store it up to 3 months at home.
She did not need any alterations, but they worked with her until she was satisfied with the bustle.
The ladies that pressed her dress were very polite and helped us load the dress in the car. We were
very pleased with our experience and have recommended "Weddings by Debbie" to our friends.

I bought my gown from weddings by debbie in Dec. and had the best experience just as my sister and best friend did. we have gotten the best service from every department. I am a full figured woman who requires special fittings and I got every bit of it. I ordered my gown, the managers measured me and show me the chart and recommended a size. I just got my gown in and it fits great, we needed to make some alterations, as expected but Lupe and her staff fit it to my body wonderfully. I know not everyone can be made happy with an event like a wedding but I think they are great. And I asked about the other ladies who wrote about this store, and I want to say to all the brides that are reading these stories, just remember there are 2 sides to every story. And this store would not be in business for as long as they have if all their clients felt that way. I loved them and I think every one should go.

Pros: service and selection

Cons: appointments only

Although they have numerous dresses, more than any other bridal salon I went to, the customer service is horrible. The only person who has been nice to me there is the lady who helped me try dresses on. The front desk is rude and degrading, the alterations department is always overbooked and unhelpful. They mess up on orders (like ordering you the wrong dress) and then it is up to you to call constantly until someone gives you an answer. I was unable to have bridal portraits because they ordered the wrong dress and the new one didn't come in until about two weeks before my wedding. There is no reason to pay that much money for horrible service. I would go for your one free appointment, find the dress you like and then order it somewhere else where they treat you like you should be treated after spending over $2,000 on a dress that they order wrongly and then make you resposible for making sure your dress gets there on time as if you don't have enough on your mind with planning a wedding. My wedding was amazing and I had my dress but only after tons of uneccessary stress.

I asked Jewel to go look for her wedding dress due to the fact my husband & I were out of town. She was so excited, her first day to actually go looking for her special dress. When lo & behold she goes into "Weddings by Debbie" and the sales clerk starts asking her questions. Then the clerk proceeded to tell her this was not the shop for her and she would have to shop elsewhere. See, here's where the Clerk missed it by a "MILE", my daughter's not paying for the dress - her father and I are. Since she is our only daughter - she pretty much has her pick. She was being a very sweet daughter and thought if she can find her dress on sale then that will leave more she can do for the reception...she is having 8 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen - so this will be no small affair. It will be at our local country club and all that entails. Including a victorian carriage pulled by white horses - we found her dress (wrong color (your shop had the right color and size) so we had to ordered it) - the price before alterations is slightly under $2,000.00 - then she wants "Jasmine" to add other embelishments which will up the price extensively - so your treating my daughter badly and making her feel like poor white trash (when she is definitely not) is geting this other place of business the Jasmine Coutre dress, 8 bridesmaid dresses, 2 flower girl dresses (in silk), 12 tux rentals in total - not counting all the shoes for everyone. 2 Mother of the Bride and Groom Dresses, and 3 Grandmother Dresses. I hope you change your method of operation because it would have been much easier to just buy the dress from you and be done with it - but there comes a time when you must make a stand and say "I deserve to be treated better". As my daughter is getting married it is one the most important lessons I can teach her before she takes that big plunge - something you should think about. Hope things go better for you in the future.

Pros: Had the right dress in stock

Cons: Didn't buy the right dress on principle - ordered it from a competitor who treated us better!

I went to Weddings By Debbie because of their extensive selection of gowns. The sales associate was amazing, attentive and helpful. I ended up finding my dream dress but once I paid for it the service was HORRIBLE. When I went for my first fitting, no one offered to help me or explain to my mom how to get me in my dress. The alterations lady was short and rude. Then to make things even worse, during my alterations we realized that my dress was a whole size too big from the one I ordered. After talking to the manager I was assured that a new dress would be in soon. It has been two months since that promise and they will not return my phone calls and let me know the status of my dress. As of now I have no dress and no one has contacted me to reassure me that I will have a dress for my wedding six weeks away. I would not recommend buying from here. Try on the dresses, see what you like and then go somewhere else.

The fashion consultant who was assisting me was excellent. I felt sorry for her because she was the nicest one in the place! The ladies at the front desk were horrible! One of them told my Matron of Honor that they didn't have a bathroom and but they had an "out house out the back."
They took 30 minutes to show us around. I spent more time walking around when I could have tried on dresses. Very pricey. They are more pricey then other bridal salons I have been too.

Very un-friendly staff. The receptionist was the only friendly person in the store. I was advised that the dress that I was going to try was in stock over the phone. When I went to the store the salesperson asked 20 questions to finally tell me that a dress that I verified over the store was not in stock to try on. Brides beware and go elsewhere!!

I have had numerous friends and family that have gotten their wedding gowns, bridesmaids' gowns, and prom dresses too. They are family owned and operated and they make you feel like family too. Debbie still works there and is involved along with her kids. I understand why you have to have an appointment, they have consultants that show you all the merchandise, not just the stuff they want you to see, they dress you, and they are very attentive. I will be going there soon to get my dress, after the experience I had there as a prom shopper and the multiple bridesmaids gowns I have gotten there. They are great!!!

Wed by Debbie was highly recommended by my sister-in-law so I was excited to make an appointment. However, once I got there I had to sign a form saying my appointment was only two hours, I got two free appts, and every appt after that would cost $50 (appliable to my dress purchase). The check-in lady was not nice at all. Once my consultant found me, she wasted 30 minutes just showing me around. I only tried on 5 dresses and was highly disappointed when I left. Unless I have to, I will not go here again.

This is in my opinion the most upscale-feeling salon in Houston. The ladies were so wonderful! They require an appointment, but since I just showed up, they assigned me a saleslady and gave me an extensive tour of the facility (which takes up half of a strip mall). They explained all their policies and showed me where they store the ordered gowns. They have the biggest selection of gowns in Houston, and are the most helpful attendants of any place I have been! I highly reccomend this store to brides who are just beginning their hunt. They make you feel like Cinderella and you can get an idea of what you like. Unfortunatly, you do end up paying a bit more for the surroundings.

At one time this store was located in Katy; I wish that were still true. My daughter chose her wedding dress at Weddings By Debbie and we were very pleased with the help we received, the advice we were given, the prices that I felt were comparble and the alterations for my very petite daughter.

I used Weddings by Debbie for my wedding over ten years ago when they were in Katy. Debbie was very helpful and had so much patience when it came to me. She lets you look and is not pusky. He prices were comparable to others and her alterations were good too. I would use her again if I need a formal for an event.

There are too many places in Houston that you can buy a dress. In my opinion, the customer service from this store is horrible. They have been rude on the phone to me several times. I once called and asked for directions - the lady on the phone knew I was almost an hour a way but failed to tell me that the store was going to be closing early that day. When I got there, they were closed. I will not spend my money here.
