Dr. Maul has been my physician for a year and a half, and following my last visit I wanted to share my experience. While I was being seen, another patient had a seizure and they called an ambulance for the patient. Dr. Maul and the staff handled the situation in a very skilled manner and because of the slight distraction, I felt like the Doc apologized by being more than gracious with his time. Both myself and the young woman were under the best of care that day.

This place is a royal hell hole! (nice office, but bad service) Every time l have gone to this office I have been overcharged!!! Per the office manager, the office staff must collect "at the time of service." The doctors are magnificent, however the nurses are not up to par. EVERY single time I have come to the office for a visit I have seen a different M.A. Front desk has always has been friendly so I cant speak too ill of those ladies. After recognizing such matters, I have requested to speak with an office manager. Yet, I am told that she is consistently unavailable. I can sense that there is a lack of management and disfunction. I don't want to make a change in physicians, for I am a six year patient. However, if I don't see a positive change in management soon, I'll have to make a change and refer all the business I have brought to Dr. Maul's office, including myself, elsewhere.

First of all I have to say the rooms are to boring and plain. I dont like feeling like I'm at a doctor's office, so they should decorate better in my opinion.
With that said Dr. Maul and Dr. Calderon are wonderful. I have seen Dr. Maul for about two years or so and I didnt want to give Dr. Calderon a chance a few months ago, but Dr. Maul had to work in his Farmersville office on a day that I called to get in. I'm sure glad I did. I have two doctors I like and it's easy to go in and see the doctor that has the shorter wait.

I agree about the wait times, but I've learned to go during the middle of the weak to avoid long wait times. Since then I'm able to get seen within 10-15 minutes and regardless of the wait I've always had good care. I'm willing to wait in order to see a doctor that I trust.

Dr Maul is a pleasant person (when you get to see him). Staff is not very courteous and rarely returns calls.

So far so good. I got an appointment at quick notice and I only had to wait about 15 minutes. I saw a nurse practitioner first and then Dr. Maul came in. He was very nice. He seemed genuinely interested in my problem and helped me out

Dr. Maul is the BEST!! My family and I have been seeing Dr. Maul for the last 5 years and I am surprised to read some of the comments below. I have had nothing but the best experiences with him and his staff since moving to the area in 2003. I have noticed some turnover, but with each new person the attitude from front to back seems to improve. Maybe it's because I own a medium sized business and can relate to general staffing issues that I sympathize with the turnover. Also, I had an issue with my insurance company, which was frustrating, but Stacey, the office manager, walked me through it and resolved the issue on the spot. My family and I will continue to recommend and see Dr. Maul as long as we live in the area.

I have been bringing my mother to Dr. Mauls for many years. He is the ONLY Dr. that she will see. He has a great bed side manner and is willing to help with all her medical needs. The staff they have is very kind and are willing to help me out with everything from getting her prescription filled to having a referral done. As far as the wait time, sometimes it might be a little long but you always need to consider what time of year it is. We have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Maul and his staff.

Dr. Maul's family practice in Rowlett ?, STAY AWAY !!!, these folksmade me wait 3 hours, then lost my referral for 2 weeks, all the while claiming that I had "skipped" my referral Dr. visit and making me go almost 3 weeks without any Meds. They would not admit their mistake until another Dr basically called them out. They have NO compassion/sympathy and should be avoided at all costs.

I have been going to Dr. Maul's office for about 5 years. I have never seen Dr. Maul (couldn't even tell you what he looks like). I have seen the nurse's. I have seen Dr, Herrera a few times too. Once I get seen, I'm fine with the diagnosis. Its the WAIT that is horrible. I, one time, had a 1:00pm appointment. I FINALLY was taken back to the room at 2:15pm. At 3:45pm, I went out of the room to ask if they had forgotten about me. I finally left the office with my prescription at 5:20pm. I know that the reason that they take so long is because they take walk-in's.. but I think that they should have a nurse practicioner designated for the walk-in's and then the people that have appointments should been seen on schedule. If I walked in at 3:45pm for a 1:00pm appointment, they would tell me I was late and make me reschedule (maybe). It IS poor practice to make appointments wait that long. You shouldn't spend 4 hours in a doctors office (just waiting) when you are sick.

My husband and I have been visiting Dr Mauls office for about 8 years. We are currently looking for a new doctor.

I have been very disappointed with this office for the last 6 years and I honestly cannot tell you why I have procrastinated for so long to change doctors. Not anymore. :)

The largest problem with this office is the office staff. Stacy Maul, Dr Mauls wife, is a very sweet woman and truly helpful. Outside of that, they are all terrible. The people are rude, unorganized, unprofessional and some of them are downright nasty. When you are sick and go to the doctor, the last thing you need is some desk person treating you like you are taking up their precious time or that your visit to the office is an inconvenience to them.

Dr Maul, when you can actually see him, is professional and truly cares for his patients. He has had a few practitioners, one has moved on, that are wonderful, the rest of the doctors in his office are terrible. He has one doctor in his office, Herrera, that has misdiagnosed me and he is, for lack of a better word, a total butt. I saw him a few times and had to ask that they put "never see Hererra again" on my chart. In 8 years, I have seen Dr Maul 2 times, my husband 2 or 3 himself. It is usually a nurse practitioner or an intern.

Their staff has a very high turnover, which also bothers me a great deal. That does not say much for the office.

It is very difficult to get an appointment as they always seem to double, triple and even quadruple book. It is not rare to sit in the waiting room for a minimum of 1 hour before they even acknowledge your arrival and ask for a co-pay, then sit in the waiting area for for another hour before you are called back and then sit in your little room for another hour waiting on the doctor.

I am looking for a good doctor in the Rockwall/Rowlett area and one of the key things I will be looking for is a nice and courteous staff. I just cannot see paying the salary of somebody who is going to treat me like these people do.

I absolutely hate this doctor's office. Everytime I go - I have an appointment. It is gauranteed that I will show up 15 minutes prior to my appointment time - only to have to spend at least an hour in the waiting room before they bring me back. Then once I get in my little room - I will have to spend another hour there.

I have learned my lesson. When I still went to this doctor - I always brought a book or my laptop. I knew I'd be waiting everytime I went and they never failed to live up to my expectations.

On the plus side - the nurse practioners are wonderful but if you actually see Dr. Maul himself (which is rare) - he is in and out of your room in less than a minute. I had what started as a pimple that I had to go back to his office four times before I finally went to a nurse practioner that told me it was a staph infection.

The doctor couldn't tell me that but the nurse practioner did?! He kept telling me it was just allergies. Try this cream, try this pill. I know it's getting larger and more painful but this will make it better.

The nurse practioner finally lanced it and then I had to spend 2 weeks returning to the office every day after they removed a chunk of my leg.

I'll never return to that office to see Dr. Maul. I would glady see any of his nurses again.
