Children's Museum of Houston - Providing Children Activities and Events for Family Fun in Houston. The Children’s Museum of Houston (CMH) was founded in 1980 by a group of Houston parents who hoped to elevate early childhood development to a community-wide priority. CMH provides bilingual family learning programs and educational services to a broad cross-section of families, including those who visit the Museum and/or access the services of area schools, childcare centers, community centers, public libraries, and social service agencies We serve more children than any other children’s museum in the U. S., on a per square foot basis! We house 14 multidisciplinary and bilingual exhibits, a 166-seat auditorium, and the Parent Resource Library, which offers a diverse array of materials on parenting and early childhood education.
The Children's Museum of Houston is a very fun place for kids. The layout is very good for children and keeps them occupied. It is very colorful and wide open, giving kids the freedom to run around and play. The museum is always busy and it is fun for parents as well. Parking is not too bad if you come on the weekend and there is plenty of it around the museum. It is located in the heart of Houston so it is very easy to access.

It really is fun for all ages. I went there as a very young child and just recently. Both times were just as much fun as the other. They have so many cool things to see, and when you leave, you feel as if you've really learned something. This is an awesome institution that really needs your support. I encourage adults and children alike to take a quick visit.

i take my niece here from time to time and she never tires of it. there are so many activities for her to do. it seems like we never get to do everything, since we usually have a maximun of 4 hours. everytime we leave she is begging to stay longer and do one more thing.

I loved this place when my son was very little, under a year. It was the first museum I had seen that actually had an area set up for kids this little. Lots of stimulating toys, mirrors, balls, blocks and different sensory experiences. They have a nice system set up for keeping toys clean as well, as long as the parents follow the rules. The museum wasn't as much fun for a 2-3 year old however, as my son ws to big for the baby area, but not quite big enough for the other stuff. And it seemed like everytime I took him there, he ended up sick. For kids that age, without the cleanliness guidelines of the "Tot Spot", the place can be a real germ factory. I would avoid it during cold an flu season. Now that my son is a little older (4 1/2) it has become more of a fun place again.

They have a great toddler area that my 18 month old could have lived in. They made sure that no older children came in.
The outside play area was very clean, well maintained, and a lot of fun.
There were new exhibits all of the time that were very fun for children and adults.

The Children's Museum is very entertaining and educational for the kids. They have alot of things to do such as a pretend grocery store, face painting, and a wet corner with bubbles for the kids to play in. My kids didn't want to leave!

The BEST thing about the Children's Museum is that it is free on Thurs. evening. The bad thing is that in the summer it gets REALLY full on free nights. Still you can't beat free. Oh and let's not forget parking is also free on these nights. If you want to beat the crowds, head there on Thursday nights during the winter.

We try to take our son to the Childrens Museum of Houston at least once a year. They always have new and creative exhibits that involve interaction with the children. Our son is now 10 and it never gets old. It's a great family place and we really enjoy the experience.

The Children's Museum of Houston is great. Our children ran around for hours and never got bored. We were amazed at how many things were suited for our toddlers. The toddler spot was amazing and kept them buzy for hours, even the baby could play. All adults that are not accompanied by a child must register at the front desk, so this shows you that security is important to them.

while in houston we took our grandsons and we truly believe we could not of chosen a more fun place. the boys are 8 and 10. it is now that everything new to them is so cool. the staff works with them and show them new things and the pond has to be the no. 1 thing there. their exhibits are really interesting. this is one of houstons best fun place for entire family.

I recently went with some small fry I know through friends. They had a ball! I remember it from my own childhood, and in a way, I wish I hadn't gone because I remembered it so differently. That being said, it was still a cool museum, very interactive and touch-me, which is great for kids.

the childrens museum of houston is a great place to spend an entire day. There is plenty to do for chiildren and adults. There is plenty to do inside and a decent size water park and playground outside. would definitely recommend this to anyone.

The Children's Museum is so much fun! The prices are relatively cheap and they have free nights once a week.
The exhibits are a lot of fun for toddlers and pre-teens (and even parents!).
There's a variety of exhibits to choose from; an outdoor pond with fountains to play in, a pretend grocery store with registers and face painting.
Everytime we go, we end up spending the most time at the pond, but the entire place is really fun. (The pond "rules" can be hard to follow since each worker enforces things differently.)
I look forward to each time we go.

The Childrens Museum truly is fun for all ages. I think that when I go there, I have more fun than the kids. This museum is not an "exhibit" museum, instead it is a wonderful place to learn by doing. There is a wide variety of activities from arts and crafts to science experiments.
