3 Stars: Generally very good (by Patrick B.)

They typically have some of the best prices and weve been happy with the sand and gravel that weve picked up from them but weve had some problem recently resolving a dispute related to a bulk delivery.

PROS: Good prices and usually good service
CONS: Can be hard to get out of in heavy traffic

4 Stars: Great Prices, Great Service (by Greg C.)

While I haven't bought any grass from Don's, I can say that they have the best prices on Crushed Granite and Sandy Loam. Plus, they are an Austin family owned and operated business. Keep up the good work guys!

5 Stars: Good Family Fun!! (by M M.)

I was so disappointed when Don's Grass moved from their Brodie Location and I could not find a pumpkin patch quite like theirs, but I was so happy when I found them again. My kids love to go and look at all the pumpkins, mazes, animals, And there favorite the big giant pumpkin. I highly recommend this place for good family fun.

1 Stars: What a NIGHTMARE! (by S K.)

They delivered me DEAD grass! My professional landscaper refused to use it, and Don's was super RUDE and unprofessional responding to our concern. I WOULD NEVER EVER buy grass from them! All sales FINAL too. This mom and pop shop better learn to mind their manners!

PROS: None
CONS: Everything

2 Stars: Not what I expected!! (by John M.)

I recently bought some grass from Dons grass because I have heard a lot of good things about their grass. I heard that the price was better than anyone else and it really was. I just bought 5 palettes and most of the palettes were ok, a little brown but I figured I could bring it back with plenty of TLC. I got to about half way with one of the palettes and it got worse as I went down, like I said a little brown I could deal with but it turned out that most of the squares in this particular palette were so bad I couldnt even pick up a whole square without it falling apart. Once I got a little further down I had to pretty much piece them together on my lawn. I have a giant puzzle on part of my backyard now. I am not very happy at this point and I hope this brown and pretty much dead looking grass will take. Next time and I hope there wont be I will spent the extra money and get some green grass somewhere else other than Dons Grass. Good price low quality is all I can say about them and I honestly do not know how / why they have such a good reputation considering Grass is in their name.

4 Stars: Excellent Pumpkin Patch (by Kristen H.)

We took our sons to Don's Grass and Landscaping to pick a perfect pumpkin. They had a huge selection and all different types of pumkins. They had a great maze for the kids to run in, and didn't mind if we took our pumpkin pictures for the year. Great people!

1 Stars: never again!!! (by Adolf O.)

April 2008
I recently purchased sod from Don's Gras through their Marble Falls outlet.
I wish I had seen the website before committing; strangely enough the local sales guy did not even know the website existed.
The site has a review "Not what I expected!! " by John M.
I can only fully support John's findings; my experience was at least as bad, if not a touch worse.
I took a bunch of pictures and presented them to the local guy who faxed them to Don in Austin.

Another write-up: the delivery guy climbed up on the back of his truck and started sweeping the platform; "good idea" I thought until he then swept the dirt right into the middle of our street here and left!

4 Stars: Great grass.....great price! (by Lacy M.)

We had just moved into our new house and needed to get sod for our back yard. We called all over town comparing prices and Don's had the best by far.

Because of the great price we were a bit worried about the quality but when they delivered it we were THRILLED.

PROS: Great prices.....great grass
CONS: none

5 Stars: Great place to do business. (by ura s.)

I recently found myself in need of grass for my yard. I called several companies in the phone book and I found that Don's Grass had the best prices and the most friendly people to deal with. They told me ways to cut the cost of doing my yard. I don't understand how some people say Don's sold them dead grass. If they sold dead grass, how have they been able to stay in business over twenty years?
