I recently spent $43 on a delivery order from here. The veal entree that we ordered had no sauce what so ever on it. Also I ordered shrimp fettuccine and when I got it the shrimp tasted rancid and the sauce had onions in it.

I called the next day to speak with a manager about the food because we weren't even able to eat our dinner after waiting for over an hour on it to be delivered. When I spoke with the manager he all but called me a liar and said that in 30 years he has never seen shrimp fettuccine with onions in it...umm why do you think I'm calling you guy??!!?? I explained that it was still in my fridge if he wanted me to bring it up there...but no he said that he wouldn't do anything because that wasn't a complaint that made sense.

If they will do nothing for a customer that has been going to them for almost 3 years who will they make things right for?? After reading other reviews I see that I am not the only one that has had this problem.

I hate being called a liar and told him that I will spread the word that I would never go back to that place again.

We love the Italian Bistro for all kinds of dining, from family gatherings, to romantic dinners, to comfort food. Sammy and the staff do an amazing job keeping the specials interesting and updated. The pizza is truly the best around! BYOB keeps the evening affordable if you are going to linger, and the music on Fridays makes for an unbeatable atmosphere. Not stuffy, not pretentious; just a great come-as-you-are or special occasion place.

I completely agree with the review below. The staff is very rude and treats it's patrons as an inconvenience. Seeing as how the owners of this establishment are actually from Italy, you would think that the food would better and more authentic. However, that is not the case at all. The atmosphere is the only thing this place has going for it. However, it is definitely not the most romantic either. If you want a true romantic Italian dinner, try Italian Inn in Fort Worth. It is SO much better and one of the most romantic restaurants I have ever been to.

I moved to Roanoke in the Fall of '06. I saw the Italian Bistro and our family tried it. I was NOT impressed at all. The first impression I got walking in the door was I as an inconvenience that day. They were not busy and the gentleman that seated us acted as if he were rushed and barely greeted us. The food was mediocre for the prices and the waitstaff was less than stellar! Needless to say, we decided this was not a place we would be visiting again! Fast forward almost a year to summer 2007. We had company into town and they insisted that we eat Italian. Since the IB had undergone some new construction, I thought maybe the rest had improved as well in addition to the fact we may have just visited on a bad day last year. So we tried it again. It was the same! If you are a regular, you seem to get great service. However if you have children or they have not seen you before, you get so so service at best. Again the gentleman seating us was rude and disinterested in our presence and the waitstaff could not keep a tea glass full if their life depended on it. The dining area is nice, however, I've been to nicer, paid less and had awesome service. This is definitely not a place I would recommend. If you have gone and had a nice time, I am happy for you. Personally, I won't be back and I do share that with every new person I meet in Roanoke/Southlake/Grapevine. Also, I believe that the gentleman that seated us both times, happens to be the owner which is really sad if you think about it! He should be thrilled someone in walking in his door ready to spend money. Especially now!

Awesome food, friendly staff, and great prices are all accurate descriptions of this small romantic restuarant. Most of the staff are true Italians that make the food and the atmosphere sheer perfection.

Start with the stuff mushrooms. They are filled crab meat and are cooked in a wonderful Vodka sauce. I recommend either the chicken or veal Genovese. This has to be the best sauce ever. I've had several of the desserts and the best one is the Italian Cream Cake. It is a must. If you want wine, you need to bring your own which was fine with me because a $10 bottle of wine would cost at least $40 at any restaurant. The prices are extremely reasonable.

Pros: extensive menu, byob, nice but not fancy
