Bad, Bad, Bad

If you live in North Dallas and are looking for good furniture with good customer service (in case you have any issues)...look away from Robb and Stucky. We bought most of the furniture in our home from Haverty's. Any issues we have had in the past with the Haverty's furniture was dealt with promptly and professionally. I have never had a complaint with Haverty's.
Should have stuck with Haverty's...
We decided to look at Robb and Stucky for our furniture in our family room which we knew we'd be using every day. We were looking for a Large leather sectional and a 1 1/2 person chair. We paid top dollar compared to what we could have purchased comparable furniture for from Haverty's. We thought we were purchasing a higher level of quality and customer care by paying top dollar at Robb and Stucky. Unfortunately, the opposite has proven to be true.
We have owned the furniture for just over a year. Lets start with the leather sectional. After one year, the leather piping around each seating surface is worn and unattractive. Further, the seating area itself is already showing wear in that the leather finish is gone in several places. We called Robb and Stucky customer support and after several weeks they sent their "leather expert" out to our house to look at the furniture. He acknowledged the problem but told us that the chocolate brown leather the sectional was covered in was no longer sold...so, he suggested we live with it and use "brown shoe polish" wherever the couch looks worn. I am still in disbelief that Robb and Stucky's resolution to this obvious problem is for me to cover my $5,000.00 sectional with brown shoe polish.
Unfortunately, the 1 1/2 person chair had a hole in the seating surface upon delivery. Robb and Stucky tried to replace the bottom cushion material but they sent the wrong color covering. Weeks later, a rep came out and took the cover off the chair and took it with him to "match" it with a replacement. We are happy if the problem gets fixed but we have been left with a coverless chair (just the white cushion filling) for over a month now.
So beware, if you go to Robb and Stucky expecting a higher level of customer care, forget it...run to Haverty's. I found that if Haverty's does not have what you are looking for on the floor, they can order anything for you...it will come out a lot cheaper than what you can buy identical furniture for at Robb and Stucky and you will go through much less headaches if you ever have a problem.
Good Luck.
