My husband and I are very unsatisfied by the work that statewide contracted out for our bathroom remodel. The salesperson came to the house, and was VERY good! We walked around...explaining all the things I would like to see done in our house. He never said no...I thought it was all good. He told us about the price, and quality of product, then got on the phone and got us "discounts" for this and that...We ended up spending $8000 for a new vanity and bathtub with surround. They have been out at least 6 times, not ever fixing problems. They have a money back guarantee, but aren't going to honor their word. They are argumentative and rude when we try to talk with them about mold issues incurred by their lack of sealing the faucet. Anywhere you go, you can get an itemized receipt...not Statewide!

In response to the comments from George Y, as the owner of Statewide Remodeling I would like to correct the misinformation on his review. We are a local company, since as the president and owner of Statewide Remodeling, my home is here in Austin. We have been in Austin for 15 years and have over 5,000 satisfied customers. We have never had a complaint on the issues he states. It is interesting that he says that people should "consider Lowes or Home Depot", since we also represent Home Depot in Sunrooms and Bath products. Not one comment he makes states he has any first hand knowledge of my company. If George Y did have any questions on these facts, please feel free to contact me directly at my Austin office number at 453-5858.

I think they are just a Sales and Marketing company who normally has strong sales and market strategy to get you in, and then outsource all technical work to contractors. Headquartered in Dallas and probably not an Austin local company, however they do have sales office and showroom in Austin. Just be careful with the sales man who will tell you everything you want to hear. Be sure to pay by a way that you have leverage to get your money back should they do not perform to what they promised in verbal or writing, yes, make sure have everything you want written down or use a voice recorder during the meeting that may be as long as 3-4 hours. If they represent Homedepot or Lowes, that is great! but I would only buy from Homedepot or Lowes for a better reason that you are protected by two big guys that can speak for you should something happened. By the way, good to know he lives in Austin for 15 years. Are they in the approved list of contractors qualified for any energy incentives in the City of Austin? let us find out. Last, he can reply to any post, but can not put a 5 star on himself due to conflict of basic business interest, and mislead the scoring system. I am a consumer and I can put any stars I feel.

My husband and I just had a sunroom installed and our kitchen remodeled and we couldn't be happier. Everyone we came in contact with throughout the project was extremely professional. I didn't have a single email or phone call that was returned in a prompt manner.
Yes they where a little more expensive than some other companies but a Lexus is more expensive than a Kia- you get what you pay for. I find it interesting that most of the bad reviews are from people who didn't use them- and I'm sure they are not giving the company that did the work good reviews either- how much did saving a 1k or 2k actually cost you in the long run?
And I"m sorry but to those who are upset because the salesman was a little tiffed, when the spouse wasn't home- did it ever cross your mind that you were the one being rude? After all he drove across town no telling how far in his personal vehicle to give you a free estimate - you wasted his time! Our project was 67,000 and worth every penny- but I would not have made that decision without my husband present and there is no way I could have explained it all to him- after the fact- the sales person would have had to come back and do his whole presentation all over again. And there is no way I would have not been here and let my husband pick out my kitchen! I know when we set our appointment we were told that both were to be present- as I'm sure they tell everyone. I don??t blame them at all for wanting both to be present, if your actually interested in doing something then it looks like you would want to be, never mind its only courteous.

Thank you Statewide for the wonderful work you did to my home- I love my new kitchen and sunroom - I enjoy it so much- I highly recommend this company to all my friends and family- and can't wait to have you remodel my bathroom at the 1st of the year!

After reading some reviews, I would like to offer my experience with Statewide Remodeling. It is obvious to anyone reading the complaints about having both parties present, is that the customer just wants a quote for something they are considering and therfore they do not value the time required for themselves or the representative of the company.
We designed our bath room with a consutant who took time to find out what was important to us and our needs. As I see it this was for our benefit. My needs are different from the needs of my wife and without her imput, our project would be a waiste of my time. I am sure these consultants have studied and trained very hard in their choosen field and not to weigh all options and use their knowledge in my opinion makes a poor decision invevitable.
If you are curious about the cost of a project, you can find a quote-estimate or a best quess in many publications or on-line. But if you do not know what you want and need a professional to advise you, that is a service provided at no cost to the consumer and therfore should be valued.

In closing our professional consultant helped us make decisions on OUR functional and maintenence free bathroom that we now enjoy without worry for as long as we own this house. They put this in writting. No other company we considered could back this promise

Statewide's estimate for my bathroom remodeling was 3 to 4 times higher than other estimates I got.
I don't have any reason to believe their work is not quality. However, I had a salesman come over to give me an estimate, and it was strange that he left nothing. He left no written estimate, no card, no literature. As soon as I told him I didn't even want to hear the discount price for an immediate decision, he couldn't wait to get out the door. Most professionals will leave some written estimate and a means to contact them.
By the way, my number is 469-235-6126, in case Frank wants to dispute the veracity of my review personally.

I called Statewide for them to come out to give me an estimate for my bathroom. However, when the salesman got here he asked me where my husband was. I was like "why does that matter?" He said that the prefer to have both spouses there to give an estimate. After I assured him that I can make the decision he went on to give me the estimate. After he was in the bathroom for about 20-30 minutes and I was looking over the materials and patterns he asked me if I was ready for the price. He gave me two prices: 1) the price for if I decide to do the work in 30 and 2) the price if I agree to do the work right away. My question is that if they are so confident with their work why would they have to give me two pices? Also, I felt like the salesman was pressuring me to do the job and I didn't like that. He as downright rude! He was upset when I told him that I want another estimate from another company. He kept pushing that Statewide Remodeling is the best and no one can do better. Well, guess what? The salesman from Bathwraps said the same thing! Who wants to badmouth their own company? They badmouthed other companies. Both companies used the same selling techniques. I can guarantee them that I won't use them or refer them to anyone. Although, both companies said they have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau think about how many customers did not complain to the BBB or better yet did not post a complaint elsewhere. Then, he told me that if I do chose to do business with them he will have to cancel the appointment with the other client just so he can do paperwork. Again, why would he do that? I mean, can't he just set up a new appointment another time? I asked him that since he spent almost two hours at my house why would he need to come back and measure everything again. Also, I've already told him what materials I liked, but I guess he didn't write it down. That's another reason why I don't recommend this company. It doesn't makes sense why he would cancel an appointment to give another client an estimate and why would it cost $1000 more to come back and look at the bathroom if he has already seen it!!! My advice is that if any company gives you an estimate that seems like they are pressuring you to buy or agree to their contract right away; just refuse their service. I'm getting the impression that all of the salesmen of Bathwraps and Statewide Remodeling use the same selling techniques: 1. both spouses must be present, 2) discount if you agree to the contract today, but it cost more if you wait because they have to come back (which doesn't make any sense why they like to do double work), 3) they say they are the best and puts down other company's workmanship, and 4) they will manipulate you to agree to their contract. I am very thankful that I got another estimate and didn't let those clowns talk me into agreeing to their contract.

I had Statewide Remodeling install vinyl replacement windows in my home. They where very honest in their dealings. I am retired and did not want to do all the windows at one time. This was not a problem for them. They explained which side of the house had the most sun exsposer and suggested i do those first. I was very impressed with their approach. The workers where neat & cleaned up after they where done. I read one of the other reviews here where someone was complaing about their workers being Mexican? This is Texas you know & what is wrong with Mexican's. One of the men on my crew appeared to be Mexican he was polite and professional. I will use Statewide again when we need the rest of our windows. I would have no problem recomemding this company

i have had Statewide Remodeling install replacement windows, siding and most recently a tub to shower conversion at my home. I am a single mom and don't have extra money laying around so a good value is important to me. Statewide was not the cheapest bid i got but their work was second to none. I had no problems with any aspect of the sale or the installation. I read some of the other reviews from the people that are complaining and can't believe what i am reading. does not sound like the Statewide Remodeling i have done business with They are an A+ company in my book & i will do business with them again.

I had a salesman come to my house. The moment he walked in he was complaining about the number system of my house. When he found out that my wife was not home he got very rude with me he kept bragging how this company was in sams and home depot. He kept on saying that I should have known to have my wife here. I told him to leave and if he ever comes back I will call the police This company real sucks and I am glad I found out what they where about before I had to go though this after paying them money. Don't walk away from this company run. They are very ,very rude. I not afried to tell you my name Mr. Levin or Mr. Manzare. It's James Bullock you have my number but don't you ever call me your company sucks.

Just finished filing a complaint with BBB of Austin. Statewide did an extension of my back porch and an enclosure. The slab workers were Mexicans who did the cheapest possible job. They even dug up dirt from a vacant lot across the street to complete the job. The enclosure itself looks fine, but the windows do not block out the heat. When we went for a demonstration at Statewide, the sales manager held a heat lamp behind a pane of glass and we couldn't feel any heat. Now that the enclosure is up the heat comes right through. The job is done and paid for and I am still waiting for my warranty. I guess they are too cheap to spend .44 on a stamp and want me to go pick it up! Would never recommend these clowns to anyone.

Frank Manzare here again in referance to Timothy M. another anonymous response. In case anyone is interested i wrote my own review because there is no place to respond to some of these false claims made by some no last name people on this forum. I'm sorry that this person could not allow enough time for my repersintative to make a full presntation. It is a free estimate but we like to have all interested parties present. Sorry if our people where rude i have talked to those in that department. I am currently looking up this person. If he used his real first name & real last initial i will be able to locate them. Since they never stated which owner they left a message for who did not return their call i will assume it was me. I never got a message from any customer that i did not return. I RETURN ALL MESSAGES FROM CUSTOMERS I give them my cell number so they can contact me from 9am until 8pm seven days a week. I just found the info and they did not use the correct last initial. It is H not T. So who is being totaly honest here? It is too bad that some people don't understand how hard it is to start a company from scratch and maintain an A+ rating with the BBB in three different cities.. We have recieved the Consumers Choice award 5 years running for business excellence. We have not been able to accomplish that by intentionaly being rude to our customers. Yes we do make mistakes but i think anyone you talk to who has delt with me personaly will tell you i will bend over backwards to get them satisfied. some people here question our sales representative's. We do not do a job without a written contract signed by the customer & our rep. This contract outlines the complete scope of the job. If the customer is told something and they want it included in the work they need to make sure it is in the contract. That protects all involved. Thanks for your time Frank M.

Update 5-17-12

Yes we are a sales & marketing company we also install all our own work. We use sub contractors on some projects. I have never understood why some people want to take issue with sub contractors. The finest homes in the world costing millions of dollare are built by mostly sub contractors. We stand behind all our work regardless if we use our crew or a sub contractor. The customer pays for the end results what difference does it make who the installers work for? When they do work for Statewide Remodeling they work for us

The lady who says she learned her lesson? I have been working with her to correct the issues. The lesson she learned is make sure you get everything in writting. When you are doing a large remodel job there are many things discussed. When the final project is decided and the price is determined it is the customers responsibilty to READ the contract. If what they want done is not stated there DO NOT SIGN IT!! I am giving them the work she thought she was getting and they are not having to pay for it. We take care of our customers. Statewide Remodeling has been in business in Austin for 15 years and have installed thousands of jobs. The few that come here to complain could have had any real issues corrected by simple going to our web site, getting my contact number & calling me. There are always two sides to every story

The few that come here to complain could have had any real issues corrected by simple going to our web site, getting my contact number & calling me. There are always two sides to every story

The owner of this company submitted his own review. You can see this below his name is Frank Manzare. That's pretty pathetic. This company approched at the Green Expo in Plano Texas. They set me up for an in house appointment, but blew the sale before they got to my house. The day before the appointment, they told me both my wife and I had to be home for the appointment and would not make any exceptions. I could only be their for an hour and my wife would be there for the rest of the presentation and the quote. They were very blunt, had an attitude and told me no, you have to be there. I told them forget it then.
I called the owner and left a message on how his customer service representative treated me on the phone and he never returned my call. I'm glad I didn't get involved with these people.

He goes on to say non of these reviews are real and apparently just random people slamming his company just for the hell of it.

Here is a quote from his own review below:
??it kills me that there are these web sites that claim to be a clearing house for results from a good or bad experience that someone had with a business but allow people to post anonymous comment's. How do you know this is not a competitor? who are these people that are allowed to slam someones business? there are always two sides to every story. here you only get one. i would never say my company does not make mistakes but i challenge these people hiding behind an anonymous comments to call me & lets here the whole story. my number is 800-317-8283. i can promise anyone who reads this that they will never call....because i can tell you there is more to the story. every customer i have every talked to who had a complaint with my company & let me tell you i have had a few ( we have installed almost 20,000 jobs) has received an open mind from me to listen to their side of the story. i tell them all the same thing if Statewide Remodeling has done something wrong i will make it right. If you are looking for something for nothing you will not be happy dealing with me. thanks for your time Frank?

They have misrepresented themselves to me and I would not recommend them. Make sure that you get full documentation on exactly where they are basing their facts on.

Statewide Remodeling did an excellent job. We have had our enclosure for 2 years now. We've gone through hot, hot summers and just went through a horrible cold/snow snap. I have been reading certain posts and I'm very sorry if certain people are not happy. I was compelled to write here to let everyone know that my husband and I are extemely happy. I suppose no one is perfect, but I had only one thing that needed to be fixed and it was OUR fault that it got scraped on the door. They came out immediately on my time schedule and repaired it for free. We do have the lifetime warranty. We had other bids from other companies with products that were so poor and cheap. SR's construction is strong and is and looks top quality. It has certainly raised the value of our home. All our visitors are in awe when they come over - from the outside as well as the inside we are totally satisfied. Anyone who knows me knows how picky picky I am about my home and it's construction and decor. I agree with other posts... you don't know who these people are that are slamming a company - they could easily be the sour competition who would like to cause trouble. That's how I feel and I write the truth. They did quote a higher price than the competition but Statewide is so much better and you get what you pay for - want to pay cheaper? Then, you get cheap!! My husband and I have a motto "Do it right or don't do it at all." There is no subsititution for good quality. We live near Fort Worth but I read some posts while I was doing another search and was so surprised at some of the complaints, and thought I would add my opinion. We are getting ready to do an inside remodeling job - quite a big one!! And again, after having a few bids from other companies (ugh, they were so below quality), we are going with Statewide again. I will be more than happy to post the outcome of Statewide Remodeling when they complete the job. Carla H

I recently had my windows done by Statewide and they are great. However, the installment job was mediocre. There were a couple of places that were not sealed and I had to do a call back to have someone come take care of it. They were decently prompt about getting out but it was like they just ran out of caulk and thought, "oh well". The second half of the installment they had to remove some tile to place the window and I was told they would have a tile guy out ASAP to cut and re-tile. There was also a window that was scratched and they said would be replaced. After about 6 weeks, I call Statewide to inquire about the tile and replacement window and they said they would put in a work order. One week later I call back because the communication is not there, and that's where I'm at presently, but I'm sure everything will get taken care of. One more thing about the installation is I had to do a walk through and not one window was clean. I had them pull the ladders back out and walked through helping clean them.
So Frank, I'm not bashing the company and nor am I a competitor. I think the look and sound of my new windows are great. Its just when someone spends that kind of money for a product, It should be extraordinary. I should not have to be contacting statewide asking for job completion, even tho its been paid in full. Nor should I have to clean the windows when they were installed. These are not Major issues and can easily be solved, as they should be because it would have made all the difference in my satisfaction.

Frank, Our patio cover was installed by your company in 2005 and when we went to have it enclosed (by your competitor and former employee) it was discovered that it was inadequately supported -I did contact you via email (with NO response), along with along with John McClean, who also "blew me off"I caution anyone who lives in an area that does not require building permits or inspections for construction of this type, to be careful.

we just got our windows installed by Statewide Remodeling and they are great! i can tell already my house is going to be quieter. we will have to see about the energy savings pledge they gave us, but compared to the old windows i know these are going to save us on our utility bills

This is my first experience of buying replacement window on an old house. They charge me a double-hung as one window but charge me double for a similar double-hung window but installed side way so it became a 2-slider. I am an Engineer and can see both have same functionality, structure and material. But I can not understand why price is doubled when you turn the window sideway. I called the company and humbly asked for explanation but neither the general manager nor the sales person can give me an consistent answer. One says pricing is nothing to do with area?etc, the other one said it depend on the area?etc.

If you use them, make sure you voice record all promise from the sales. Be aware to ask exactly for how they price window before you sign up. If they can not answer your question about pricing clearly, walk.
