Reviews for Yummy's Greek Restaurant

Ratings_icons Made me fall in love with Greek food

Ned B. | insider Insider | Rank: 19,127

I never liked Greek food before coming to Denton and eating at Yummy's. Though I resisted going the first time, protesting that I did not like Greek food and nothing would change my mind, after tasting the dolmas, tzatziki, and gyro I was a full convert. The restaurant itself is modest, but the food is the best Greek I have had outside of Europe.

Ratings_icons soooo good!

renee d.

I've lived in Denton for 3 years, and I kept wanting to go but never did. We finally made it there, and it was great! I had a veggie platter, my husband and the kids had gyros. Everyone LOVED the food. It was reasonably priced, and the service was nice, but slow---not for us personally--- but one man waiting on a to-go order left after waiting 35 minutes for a sandwich.

I will definitely rate this as a favorite in Denton!

Ratings_icons Fantastic Falafel sandwich!

Libia L.

I have to disagree with the previous review. I eat at Yummys regularly cuz they make wonderful, tasty sandwiches. Yes, their "supreme sandwiches" are 5.99, but you get hummus and tabuleh, and lettuce and tomato and those purple veggies in vinaigrette, plus meat or veggie -your choice- inside a pita bread that can hardly contain anything else... yes the pita bread is not 1 ft in diameter, but go on and try to beat that taste! The falafel is crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside, the shish kebab is super well seasoned, the chicken slouvaki is also very good. They always serve warm fresh pita bread and they put this delicious seasoning in their labna. And their Baklava is by far the best one I've ever tasted. Yes its 2.50 for a 3 in piece, but again it's totally worth it.

food is ok. too overpriced for the amount you get. the quality and amount compared to all other places we've been puts this place low on our list. the dill sauce for the gyros is watery and fairly tasteless, and you get so little it almost doesn't exist. the service is slow, if that good. we only go here when we are very desperate for greek food. there is no other close to where we are in denton.
