On a recent unexpected trip to Dallas, I was in dire need of a haircut...being from NYC I thought I'd never find anyone half as good as my stylist at home...well guess what? I found one even better...in fact, he's incredible...so if you live in near Salon Pompeo Uptown...I strongly recommend Taury...he's outstanding and very nice.

I worked in the beauty/hair industry for 3 years and I have to say that I have never found someone who does hair like Keri! She listens to what you want, tells you what really goes with your face, and then adds her own creativity to it!

I went to Keri about 7 weeks ago for the first time, and I have always gone to the same woman for nearly 4 years.. so I was nervous. Keri had her work cut out for her. Needless to say, I had what they call a "bad box job" - or in other words, orange roots and platinum ends! It was a color correction... but Keri jumped right in and provided the best solution. She rocks!

I have shoulder length wavy hair that will spiral with the right cut, but I never knew that until Kelly Garza started cutting my hair. Other stylists I have gone to have ALL given me cuts that force me to blowdry it straight (their ideas of what's good for me). I love my curly hair & wanted a style that would work with it & my busy schedule - I have that now. She's also fabulous with color - I have this great color that looks & feels natural, thanks to her expertise. She makes me feel good about the way I look.

A friend of mine went to Taury at Salon Pompeo, and her hair had never looked better, so I decided to make myself an appointment. He was very professional, and attentive to my hair, and my look. Now people ask me where to go, and I send them to Taury!

All my life after getting my hair cut and styled I would always go home and restyle it myself. Tried different salons and my hair never felt natural. After hearing about Salon Pompeo gave it a try and am extremely happy. The stylist Leah listened and then was honest about what my hair would do with certain styles. I took her advice and love my color and cut. I get a lot of compliments and people want to know who does my hair. I have gray that is very resistant to color and Leah makes it feel healthy and soft.

taler gave me a facial with a chemical peel and my face has never been so smoothe and clear. its sooo relaxing! she is takes her time when it comes to waxing and makes your brows look amazing. she makes sure everything is perfect!!!!!!!

Four years with Kelly Garza, starting with an urgent stop on the way out of town for a funeral. (After the funeral the next day, people commented to my wife that my hair looked great.) She is very good at what she does, and I always enjoy my time in her chair.
The manager and others that greet you are helpful and friendly. Get there a few minutes early and have a beverage (daily specials).

I have been going to Salon Pompeo for years now. I will defenitely recommend you go see Kelly Garza. She is super friendly and lay back. I have been going to her for many years. Her philosophy is that she will not let you walk out until you are COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH THE FINAL PRODUCT. Believe me you will be MORE than satified with her work. She has the magic hands!LOL

They have remodeled it and it looks nicer than before. The stylist are very friendly. My favorite is Kelly Garza. I say she's my personal hair stylist and make up artist, lol. I've been going to her for years and I'm always amazed by her performance! I refuse to go anywhere else.

Kelly Garza at Salon Pompeo on Mckinney is a must to go see. I have been with her for years. I came to her after a long relationship with a very trusted stylist and was extemely nervous about going to someone new. She has been dead on with my color, very exact about my cuts and does a great blo dry. I now let her pick my color an have done a number of things I had never done before, including cutting a foot or more off my hair and love it. I have brought 10 or mre people to her and they all love her. Give her a try! You will be glad you did!!

I was in dallas for several months .Trying to hold out on getting my haircut until i got back to nyc but, i could see that wasnt going to HAPPEN.So after doing my research .i came acrross POMPEO.and found TAURY . . he did an amazing job . he took his time and gave me one of, if not the best haircut ive ever had . im sad that i am going back home .Im already trying figure out how im going to get back here for another haircut . I have been searching for a good stylist that can do both cut and color and I have finally found the person! Teresa C. at Salon Pompeo does exactly what I ask! I must say I am not the easiest client to work with, but she smiles and listens to my concerns. She has great social skills also. I have had so many compliments on my highlights and my cut and blowout make my hair look fuller and healthier! I will definitely be back!!!

I moved to Dallas a year ago, and was nervous about finding a new stylist. I found Salon Pompeo on City Search, and noticed that Keri had many positive reviews. So I took a chance, and was blown away! Her cut/color and consultation skills are amazing. I had been trying to grow my hair long FOREVER, and was not having any luck until now. I have been going to Keri for almost a year, and my hair is not only longer, but thicker and SO much healthier! She took my hair color from a cool, haystack blond, to a medium warm blond that I love!!! She is very good at finding what color will best suit your natural features. She will always listen to new ideas, but is also honest about what will actually look good on YOU. Not to mention that she does the best style/blow dry ever! My hair is very tricky to style, and most stylists will not know how to work with my course/curly yet fine hair. I promise you, if you get your hair done by Keri, make sure it?s on a day that you have hot date, because you will want to show off your do!!

I came to see Jennifer before i went on vacation for a brazillian and it was so fast! Over in like 10 minutes! She seemed really cool and it was over in no time- not a single hair left. Absolutley go see her if u need some great waxing!

I was having problems with my skin, so i went an got a micorderabrasion and acne treatment and my skin looks so much better. I am really glad that I found her! And she made a couple recomendations for products that really helped and she was not pushy about selling them.

I love Diana and trust her completely with my hair. She asks the right questions to understand what I like, and based on my answers, as well as what she knows will look good on me, she always gives me an awesome cut and color.

Before I found Steven, my hair was just "OK". Now, I have drop dead beautiful blond hair that looks great on me! I get so many compliments, not just from friends, but total strangers - usually commenting on how sweet it is to have a child with blond hair "just like Mommy's". Then I drop the bomb on them and tell them Steven does my color. Folks are floored because my color really does look natural. Yea, he can do "the wild thing" too, but for some of us, simply strikingly beautiful hair is THE best deal going!!

Taurey and Steven are awesome. A friend sent me to Taurey when I moved to Dallas and it is the best hair cut I have ever had by far. He really listens and is honest about what will work for you!! I ALWAYS look forward to my next appointment! He sent me to Steven for my color and he is just as fabulous! I get compliments on my hair all the time!
The salon is really nice too. Everyone is super helpful with great customer service!

I have followed Steven Marlin from Richard Haylor and I am very happy he landed at Pompeo. Very nice salon.
Steven is an expert in the business of making YOU look good! He approaches the client as an individual and takes great care to create their hair color as such. I highly recommend Steven and truly believe he is the best colorist in Dallas. (Plus, he is nice and funny)

I recently visited Pompeo for a spray tan and waxing. Jennifer did such a great job on both!! The best Brazilian EVER!! I would highly recommend her for any services she provides. I was introduced to this salon when my colorist, Steven, moved here after, sadly, the Richard Hayler Salon closed its doors. Steven has been my colorist ever since I relocated to the Dallas area, almost eight years now, and I wouldn't consider using anyone else! I am always receiving compliments on my hair and color. I miss Hayler's Neiman location; however, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with Pompeo. If you are fortunate enough to have your appointment on a day off, have a glass of wine, relax and enjoy. Then go take your fabulous self and hair out for a little shopping and lunch. Karen

I have been going to Steven for years for my color. So I didn't hesitate for a second to follow him to Salon Pompeo when he moved.

The salon is great - busy, but willing to accomodate you. They have great hours, too!

Steven is a great addition to the salon. I've stayed loyal to him because he has an extensive backgroud in color and his execution is always flawless. I like a natural look and he gets it right every time. I would not trust anyone else.

Bottom line: if you want great color - without worry - go to Steven.

Taury for women's haircuts.
He works well with long hair and does not have the tendency to chop it off as most hair stylists do!
He is talented and cut and style is all he does.

Aubrey for men's haircut, specially if you have curly or wavy hair!

I have to write about my experience at pompeo last week...I had the best haircut ive ever had ... took the advise of my sister n law and tried Taury. OMG !! I did not know my hair could look this good .He took his time with my haircut and it turned out gGREAT !! Could not have been more happy..The salon was very busy and i had a little bit of a wait But , was well worth it.. I WILL BE COMING BACK !!!!

My usual stylist was out of town, so I took a bold move and ventured elsewhere. Ive been going to the same girl for years, so this was scary. I went online and found salon pompeo, read the reviews, and due to the high success rate most had with Keri I booked an app with her for color and cut. The front desk staff immediatley offered me a drink as I walked in the door, and I gladly accepted a glass of white wine which was nice because i was having a work day from hell. Make a long story short I felt inclined to write my own review because of the good experience I had. I barely had to explain what I wanted, she intensified my color just the way i wanted even added a few accent highlights for the summer, and the cut she gave me was so much easier for me to style than what my last stylist had been giving me over and over for years(as I think she was stuck in a box ,perhaps). I will be returning to see Keri now and have completely changed salons. As a creature of habit I do have to admit, sometimes change..is good.

Ok, so I just moved to the Dallas area and after having TWO disappointing haircuts, I found Pompeo and HONESTLY, couldn't have been more satisfied with my haircut. After moving, everyone knows its hard to transition to another stylist who you completely trust. I ended up making my appointment with Taury, who surpassed EVERY expectation I had. I love my hair, I love the salon....and I will DEFINITELY be back!!!!!!!!

I've been meaning to write this review for two months now... I had my hair cut and colored by Keri at Pompeo- Made an appointment with Keri because of her really great reviews.... Boy was I glad I did... SHE IS AMAZING! She knows her stuff, and will be totally honest (and polite at the same time) with what she thinks will work best with your hair type, color, texture... skin tone, face shape, etc... She is the very best, bar none, that I have ever been to. She was spot on with what she thought would look the best on me, and really took the time to LISTEN to what it was that I was "going for." She spent almost as much time commmunicating with me about my hair, and listening to me about what I liked/didn't like about my hair, as she did cutting, coloring and styling it. I can't say enough about this gal and her abilities as an artist. She made my hair feel and LOOK thicker, shinier and so healthy with the way she cut it. My color was so outstanding, (and so incredibly natural looking) I just couldn't believe it. This is the best part.... The next day I styled it, and it looked just like it did the day before when Keri had styled it. The following day, the same thing. -and the day after etc...This is usually very frustrating for me, since my hair is pretty fine... I have had one zillion compliments on my hair since Keri worked her magic on it. I'm going again this month... and can't wait. Pompeo is great. Nice glass of wine (or two) hee hee .... and the BEST haircut and color, hands down, that I have ever had. You cannot go wrong with Keri. I promise you this.

I went to Salon Pompeo last month after six months of growing my hair out. I wanted a cut that preserved my length but also gave me a stylish and fresh look. Kristen (sp?) did exactly this. She was very friendly and talked with me throughout the cut and style to make me feel comfortable. She immediately realized that my hair was flat and lacking volume and went to work. I was very happy she listened to me and only cut off 1 inch and layered the rest very nicely. I was so happy when I left the salon and saw my reflection in the window, I looked fabulous and felt great! The only bad thing I remember was that I had a 2 o'clock appt. but wasn't taken in immediately until about 2:40 because she did not hear her name over the intercom. She did a fabulous job though and I love it! I'm going to bring my mom soon :)

I went to Abby as a result of the great ratings on this website. She is absolutely great, corrected my hair color, and gave me a great haircut. Since moving to Dallas from Las Vegas earlier this year, I have had such bad experiences with beauty salons. Honestly, I have gone to the same girl in Vegas for about 7 yrs., and Abby did my hair BETTER than the girl I thought was so good! The welcoming staff at the desk were really kind, and could see I was a bit stressed about hoping for a good outcome, and offered me a drink right away. Everyone I met there was nice, very friendly and I cannot rave enough about Abby. No need for me to look anywhere else.

I was referred to Abby from a coworker because i needed something close to home/work as my old stylist was in far north dallas and very inconvienent location-wise. Abby was great, the salon is fantastic - great service - professional stylists/staff. Abby is great with color/cut etc. Several coworkers now go to her and all their hairstyles look amazing. One girl even went from long to short hair and the cut is very modern - texturized and shaped perfectly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

Pros: Everything except Con - which really isn't a con - more like suggestion.

This is my first review of any product or service, and I was so impressed by Heather at Salon Pompeo, I had to write one. I have been to no less than 25 salons over the past five years, and this ranks #1 in service, atmosphere and friendliness. I had my shoulder-length hair cut to a length comparable to Mia Farrow in the 60's, and she did a FANTASTIC job. Although I knew I wanted a short cut, I was still nervous, but she put me at ease instantly with style recommendations and an awesome attitude. She took an hour cutting, trimming and clipping the style, leaving no detail ignored. I have gotten so many compliments on my cut, and always refer them back to Heather at Pompeo!!!

I LOVE this place! When I first came across Pompeo, I'd just won a free haircut at a "Spa/Salon" (HA!) in Denton. OMG, that girl just ruined my hair. She cut it to my shoulders with NO layering, NO texturing, just there. I looked like a mushroom-head. Ugh. So, I spent that next day in panic, googled the best salons in DFW, and found Salon Pompeo. Salon Pompeo was able to schedule me that very same day and I left Hathaway's chair with the best haircut & color I've ever had...so I'm grateful that I had my hair ruined in Denton, or else I'd have never come across Salon Pompeo.
Been getting my hair cut & colored there for the last two years and not one complaint. The music's upbeat, the atmosphere is so out-there chill, the free garage parking's very convenient...and the staff was very friendly the first two times I got lost on my way over...I kept calling for the next set of directions & turns. lol. Really.

My stylist, Hathaway, is the best. They really do abide by the mission statement on their website (build a relationship with the clientele.) She knows me so well, that now I just go sit in the chair, and I don't open my eyes till she's done with my hair. It's my own makeover show without the dreaded, "What if I don't like it???"
I definitely recommend this place to people. And now that I've moved to Waco, I still prefer to make the trip up to DFW than let someone else touch my hair. So there.

I go here all the time for a specific person and have enjoyed all that Mike has taught me about how to take care of my hair. I had an emergency one day and instead of waiting for Mike to get my hair cut, I chose the receptionist's suggestion and went to Heather. I have never been more dissatisfied. I told her to not cut my bangs above my eyebrows and the next thing you knew, there they were, shorter then anything I have ever had. I had to almost yell at her to stop touching my hair because she did not listen to what i said but proceeded to cut as she pleased. After i went home and re-washed it. There were SEVERAL individual strands still hanging below that cut that she had somehow looked over. Even though this hair cut was over two months ago and Mike has fixed it since then, she had done such damage to my layers, length and overall ease of style that I am STILL recovering from it. It still sits awkwardly, it dries awkwardly, I can't do anything with it since she cut some of the layers far too short for comfort. Overall, its a great salon, but don't go to her.

After reading the reviews on Citysearch and a few other sites, I made an appointment for a cut and all-over color. Keri did my cut and color and it looks great. I was blonde and went dark brown, so it was a big change, but she did exactly what I asked for while taking my face shape and skin tone into consideration. The salon is very nice and serves wine and beer which is nice after a long day at work. I would recommend this salon to anyone, and Keri in particular if you are thinking of making a significant change to your hair. You won't be disappointed!

I was looking for a salon that would meet my needs, and I have just found it. I read alot of reviews, and decided to give Pompeo a try. Im glad I did. I made an appt. for an all-over color, and based on a lot of reviews, I asked for Keri. Keri did such a wonderful job! I wanted something dark for the fall, but not too dark that it would make me look pale and washed out against my tan skin complexion.(Im mixed, white and black). She gave me the perfect "fall" color. A med. dark brown with an auburn undertone, and it turned out amazing! I was skeptical at first, seeing as she said brown with a little red in it, but it brought out my skintone so well. Keri has a unique vision and really does know what shes doing. She made me feel really comfortable, and gave my hair the perfect haircolor for my skintone. I highly recommend her. Im going back in two weeks for her to cut my hair! Pompeo is a very classy, fun salon. The staff is super friendly, and very clean. THis was my first time at Salon Pompeo.. and its now the only salon i will go to!

I got a cut by Billy yesterday and it was great, but the best part of my visit was he cured my headaches with a simple suggestion as he was shampooing me! I have a tendency to ask for unachievable styles for my hair type and Billy knew what would work and what wouldnt and I'm glad he didnt listen to me or I would have had a mess on my head. He is really great.
The staff is super friendly and they have never ever been rude when I call, even when I get lost on my way there. I've also gotten hilites from Kim and she is the only person in Dallas it seems who understands dark asian hair. The color was perfect..meaning..she didnt turn it orange or green like most other salons I've been to. I love this salon.

I chose this salon because i heard good reviews & i'm new here. My hair stylist didn't listen to me. I told her I wanted a gradual layering instead I got a block of hair as if i had cut it myself. My philosopy is: if the hairdresser's hair is not well kept-dont expect anything sensational on your hair and guess what, her hair was a mess. Other than that she was polite and atmosphere was nice. At the end of the day you have to find someone who understands what you want.

I JUST GOT A NEW SERVICE CALLED ''BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT'', AND MY HAIR HAS NEVER EVER BEEN THIS STRAIGHT, HEALTHY & HAD SO MUCH SHINE TO IT!!!!
MIKE EVANS DID A WONDERFUL JOB ON MAKING MY CURLY & PUFFY HAIR, STRAIGHT AND SOFT, ALSO I HAVE NO FRIZZ AT ALL. I HAVE REAL LONG AND THICK HAIR THAT HAS BEEN COLORED W/ HI LITES. I CAN GET THE ''BLOWOUT & COLOR '' IN THE SAME DAY.I HAVE NEVER LOVED MY HAIR UNTIL NOW!!!!!
MIKE ALSO GAVE ME A WONDER HAIRCUT. NOW I CAN JUST WASH MY HAIR WHEN I WANT TOO AND NOT SPEND ALL DAY DRYING AND FLAT IRONNING IT.

I went to this salon for about a year, and I still like a lot of things about it, but in the end I have decided to part ways.
The environment is great- the salon is decorated beautifully, and the staff is young & energetic, and they wear "party clothes" to add to the fun, they stay open late and you can get drunk while waiting on your color to set,
However,
I've had really mixed results with customer service, and feel that for the most part, their efforts to make a sale are too aggressive as well as transparent (please, lets not show our desire for money THAT much!)
The only real issues I have with the salon are:
* can be difficult to make an appointment
* it's even more difficult to make an appointment in which you get color AND cut on the same night (story to be included below)
* color selection is small and does not offer enough variety of tones/shades, needs greater spectrum of subtle tones for professionals.
* employees are too pushy to make a sale on products, which are all very expensive
* inconsistent customer service

All of the employees are trained to do both cut and color, but on three occasions at the salon, and two over the phone while trying to schedule, I have been told by the receiptionist and the person cutting my hair that night, that "although [so-and-so] is trained to do color, they just don't like to, and therefore I won't be able to have it done." I feel that this is a very tacky thing to tell customers to their face, and left me to wonder, Is this place run by professionals or prima donnas?? In any case, this is not an obstacle I will have to have anymore, because I've switched salons.
